## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

## B2B Company Profiler: Domain to About, Careers, Tech & Signals

> 🔥 **Launch Sale: 90% OFF for the first week!** Every price below is already the regular, below-market rate, and launch week takes 90% off on top.

Turn a list of company domains into firmographic profiles: name, legal name, description, founding year, address, socials, tech stack, careers page and ATS, press headlines and buying signals (SOC 2, free trial, demo, enterprise). Read straight from each company's own site.

### What can B2B Company Profiler do?

Give it company domains. We read each company's homepage plus its about, careers and press pages, parse the Organization structured data and meta tags, fingerprint the marketing and web stack, detect the applicant tracking system behind the careers page, and flag buying signals.

| What you get | Features |
|---|---|
| 🏢 Name, legal name, description, founded, address, logo | 🧬 JSON-LD Organization + meta tags, not guesses |
| 🛠️ Tech stack: 30+ analytics, CRM, chat, CMS, framework, CDN fingerprints | 💼 Careers page + ATS (Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby, Workday...) |
| 📰 Press / newsroom headlines | 🚦 Signals: SOC 2, GDPR, HIPAA, free trial, demo, enterprise, funding |
| 🔗 LinkedIn, X, GitHub, Crunchbase from sameAs + links | 📤 CSV, Excel, JSON, API, Zapier, Make, n8n |

### Who this is for

- Account-based marketing: enrich a target list before sequencing
- Lead scoring: route companies that mention SOC 2 or enterprise
- Competitive and market maps across hundreds of vendors
- Finding who is hiring, and on which ATS, before you pitch

### What you get back

| Field | Type | What it is |
|---|---|---|
| `domain` | `string` | domain |
| `company_name` | `string/null` | company name |
| `legal_name` | `string/null` | legal name |
| `description` | `string/null` | description |
| `founding_date` | `string/null` | founding date |
| `address` | `string/null` | address |
| `linkedin_url` | `string/null` | linkedin url |
| `tech_stack` | `array of string` | tech stack |
| `is_hiring` | `boolean` | is hiring |
| `ats_provider` | `string/null` | ats provider |
| `careers_url` | `string/null` | careers url |
| `pricing_url` | `string/null` | pricing url |
| `signals` | `object` | signals |
| `status` | `string` | status |

Full rows carry 34 fields; see the **Output** tab for the complete schema. A sample (trimmed) row:

```json
{
  "domain": "apify.com",
  "company_name": "Apify",
  "legal_name": "Apify Technologies s.r.o.",
  "founding_date": "2015"
}
```

### What you need to provide

| Field | Type | Required | What it does | Sample |
|---|---|---:|---|---|
| `domains` | `array` | Yes | One per line: stripe.com, https://www.apify.com, posthog.com. We normalise to the bare domain. | `["apify.com", "stripe.com"]` |
| `followSubpages` | `boolean` | No | Follow up to three internal pages for richer about text, hiring status, ATS detection and press headlines. Turn off for homepage-only speed. | `true` |
| `maxConcurrency` | `integer` | No | How many domains to profile at once. | `5` |
| `proxyConfiguration` | `object` | No | Optional. Switch on Apify Proxy if some sites block datacenter IPs. | `{"useApifyProxy": false}` |

#### Quick start

1. Click **Try for free**.
2. Press **Start**. The sample input finishes in well under a minute with no keys or accounts.
3. Replace the sample with your own list and run again.
4. Download the dataset as CSV, Excel or JSON, or pull it from the API.

### Pricing

Pay per result, no subscription. **Launch Sale: 90% OFF for the first week!**

- `company-profiled`: **$0.004** (company profiled, $4 per 1,000). One company whose website answered with a usable page. Unreachable domains are free.
- For comparison: $0.01-0.05 per company on enrichment APIs.
- Set a max cost per run in the run options and the run stops cleanly when it hits it.
- Normal Apify platform usage (compute, optional proxy) applies.

### Limits and honest notes

- Only what the company publishes on its own site. No revenue or headcount estimates are invented; `employees_declared` is filled only when the site declares it.
- JavaScript-only sites (rendered entirely in the browser) give thinner profiles.
- Tech detection is fingerprint based: it shows what the HTML loads, not every internal tool.
- All collection is done by this Actor itself over public sources; it never calls other paid Actors.

### Code and API

Same input as the Console sample:

```json
{
  "domains": [
    "apify.com",
    "stripe.com"
  ]
}
```

```sh
curl -X POST "https://api.apify.com/v2/acts/physealabs~b2b-company-profiler/run-sync-get-dataset-items?token=$APIFY_TOKEN" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" -d @input.json
```

```python
from apify_client import ApifyClient
items = ApifyClient("YOUR_APIFY_TOKEN").actor("physealabs/b2b-company-profiler").call(run_input={"domains": ["apify.com", "stripe.com"]})
```

It also works from Zapier, Make, n8n and Apify schedules.
