## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Review Complaint Report for Google Maps, Trustpilot & Amazon

Already scraped reviews from Google Maps, Trustpilot, Amazon, Yelp, G2 or Booking? Point this at the dataset. Every review gets tagged, and each business gets a report of its top complaints, feature requests, praise and what to fix first.

### Quick start

Press **Start**. The sample reads 60 public restaurant reviews and returns one report per restaurant. Then pick a dataset from your own scraper runs; we detect the columns for you.

### What you get

- Each review tagged with sentiment, type, theme and severity
- One report per business or product: average rating, rating spread, top complaints with counts and quotes, requests, praise, suggested fixes
- Works with any column names; set a mapping only if detection misses
- Optional complaint rows with issue category and requested fix (no extra charge)

### Good for

- Ranking what to fix across every location of a chain
- Comparing your reviews with a competitor's
- Monthly review summaries for clients
- Turning a big review export into something a manager will read

### Pricing

- $0.0005 per review read and tagged
- $0.02 per business report
- 1,000 reviews across 10 businesses costs about $0.70

You pay only for results that come back. Set a max cost per run in the run options and the run stops cleanly
when it hits it. Normal Apify platform usage applies.

### Input

| Field | What it does |
|---|---|
| `datasetId` | Pick the dataset from any review scraper you ran on Apify: Google Maps, Trustpilot, Amazon, Yelp, G2, Booking. Read-only. |
| `datasetUrl` | Any shared Apify dataset link, or any URL that returns a JSON list of reviews. The sample is a public set of restaurant reviews. |
| `reviews` | A JSON list of review texts, or objects with text and optional rating, title, date and business. |
| `maxReviews` | How many rows to read, in the order stored. |
| `groupByBusiness` | Turn off for a single report across everything. |
| `minReviewsForReport` | Smaller groups still get tagged rows, but no report and no report charge. |
| `includeReviewRows` | Turn off to keep only the summary rows. Reviews are still read and billed. |
| `fieldMapping` | We detect columns on our own. If we miss, map them: {"text": "reviewBody", "rating": "stars", "group": "placeName"}. |
| `emitComplaintRecords` | Adds one row per review with its type, complaint excerpt, issue category and any requested fix. No extra charge. Counts mean reviews collected, not how common a problem is. |

### Limits

- Needs reviews you already have, from any scraper or your own export. It does not collect reviews itself.
- Groups smaller than the minimum get tagged rows but no report and no report charge.

### Run it from code

Same input as the Console sample:

```json
{
  "datasetUrl": "https://api.apify.com/v2/datasets/n8UErjFuH9dv9wKr5/items",
  "maxReviews": 60
}
```

```sh
curl -X POST "https://api.apify.com/v2/acts/physealabs~review-dataset-insights/run-sync-get-dataset-items?token=$APIFY_TOKEN" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" -d @input.json
```

```python
from apify_client import ApifyClient
items = ApifyClient("YOUR_APIFY_TOKEN").actor("physealabs/review-dataset-insights").call(run_input={"datasetUrl": "https://api.apify.com/v2/datasets/n8UErjFuH9dv9wKr5/items", "maxReviews": 60})
```

It also works from Zapier, Make, n8n and Apify schedules.
