## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

### 🚀 Google Keyword Volume Scraper

Get **Google search volume for thousands of keywords at once**. The **Google Keyword Volume Scraper** returns each keyword's monthly searches, a 12-month history, cost per click (CPC), ad competition and the top-of-page bid range, from Google Ads data, for any country and language. Use it to size markets, prioritise content and SEO plans, plan PPC budgets or enrich keyword lists. No Google Ads account needed.

### ✨ Features

- 📊 **Monthly Search Volume**: Average monthly Google searches for every keyword.
- 📈 **12-Month History**: Month-by-month volumes to spot seasonality and trends.
- 💰 **CPC and Bids**: Average cost per click plus the low and high top-of-page bid.
- 🏁 **Competition**: Google Ads competition level (LOW / MEDIUM / HIGH) and index (0–100).
- 🌍 **90+ Countries**: Pick the market with a two-letter country code; the language defaults to the country's main language.
- 📋 **Bulk Lists**: Up to 1,000 keywords per lookup and as many lookups as you need in one run. Duplicates are checked once.

### 🛠️ How It Works

1. **Paste your keywords** – one per line (up to 80 characters and 10 words each).
2. **Pick a country** – `us` by default; optionally a language.
3. **Run the Scraper** – download the results as JSON, CSV or Excel, or pull them through the API.

### ⚙️ Input

| Field           | What it does                                                                                     |
| --------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ |
| **Keywords** | Keywords to check, one per line. |
| **Country**     | Two-letter country code (`us`, `gb`, `de`, `pl`…).                                               |
| **Language**    | Optional two-letter language code. Empty = the country's main language.                          |
| **Max results** | Maximum number of keywords to check. Default 1,000. |

With an empty input the scraper checks `web scraping`, `seo tools` and `keyword research` in the US.

```json
{
    "keywords": ["running shoes", "trail running shoes", "running shoes for flat feet"],
    "country": "gb"
}
```

### 💰 Pricing

Pay only for what you use — no monthly rental.

| Event                    | Price                                   | What you get                                                                                          |
| ------------------------ | --------------------------------------- | ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Keyword with data** | $0.003 per keyword ($3 per 1,000) | Search volume, 12-month history, CPC, competition, competition index and bid range |
| **Keyword batch lookup** | $0.10 per batch of up to 1,000 keywords | One lookup fee per batch: a run with 1–1,000 keywords pays it once, 1,001–2,000 twice, and so on |
| **Actor start** | $0.00005 per run | Charged once when the run starts. |

Keywords Google has no data for are not charged. Examples: 10 keywords = $0.13 · 1,000 keywords = $3.10 · 10,000 keywords = $31.

### ❓ FAQ

**Where does the data come from?** From Google Ads keyword planning data, the same figures Keyword Planner shows. They are monthly averages rounded into Google's volume brackets.

**Why is a keyword missing from the results?** Google has no volume data for it in that country (too rare, or not a real search). Those keywords are listed in the run's status message and are not charged.

**Need keyword ideas or a competitor's keywords?** See [Google Keyword Suggestions Scraper](https://apify.com/piotrv1001/google-keyword-suggestions-scraper) and [Google Ranked Keywords Scraper](https://apify.com/piotrv1001/google-ranked-keywords-scraper).
