## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

### 🚀 Instagram Related Profiles Scraper: Find Similar Instagram Accounts

Get the **related (suggested) accounts Instagram shows for any public profile**: username, full name, verified and private flags and profile picture, optionally with followers, following, bio and bio links. The **Instagram Related Profiles Scraper** is an Instagram influencer finder and competitor discovery tool that works without an Instagram account: enter a few accounts, go one or more levels deep, and export the similar accounts to JSON, CSV or Excel.

### 🎯 Use Cases

- **Find similar Instagram accounts**: start from one account you like and get the accounts Instagram itself links to it.
- **Influencer discovery**: start from a known creator in your niche and collect lookalike creators to contact.
- **Competitor analysis**: map the brands Instagram groups with yours or a rival's.
- **Audience and niche mapping**: go two or three levels deep to chart a whole niche.
- **Lead lists**: turn on profile details for followers, bios and website links of every account found.

### ✨ Features

- **Instagram's own suggestions**: up to 50 related accounts per profile, in Instagram's order (`position`).
- **Depth**: 1 = accounts related to your usernames; 2 or 3 = also the accounts related to those (breadth-first, nearest first).
- **No duplicates**: every account is listed once per run, with `relatedTo` and `depth` showing where it was found.
- **Profile details (optional)**: followers, following, bio, bio links, highlights, reels flag and Threads username.
- **Bulk**: many starting usernames per run, each with its own limit.
- **Fair billing**: details are charged only for rows that carry them; usernames that don't exist are not charged.

### 🛠️ How It Works

1. **Enter usernames or profile links**, one per line.
2. **Choose "Max profiles per username"**, the **Depth** and whether to **add profile details**.
3. **Run** and download the accounts as JSON, CSV or Excel, or pull them through the API.

Related lists are fullest for large accounts: profiles with ~10 million followers or more usually show 50, accounts with 1–5 million show 12–43, and smaller accounts often show none. For a small niche, start from its biggest accounts and use depth 2.

### ⚙️ Input

| Field | What it does |
| --- | --- |
| **Usernames or profile URLs** | Instagram usernames, @handles or profile links, one per line. |
| **Max profiles per username** | Stop after this many related profiles for each username (default 50). |
| **Depth** | 1 = related accounts of your usernames; 2–3 = also their related accounts (default 1). |
| **Add profile details** | Also get followers, following, bio and links for each profile (default off). |

```json
{
    "usernames": ["natgeo", "nasa"],
    "maxProfiles": 100,
    "depth": 2,
    "enrichProfiles": true
}
```

### 💰 Pricing

Pay only for the profiles you get. No monthly rental.

| Event | Price | What you get |
| --- | --- | --- |
| **Profile** | $0.0015 per profile ($1.50 per 1,000) | One related account: username, name, verified and private flags, picture |
| **Profile details** | $0.0015 per profile ($1.50 per 1,000) | Followers, following, bio and links. Only with "Add profile details" on, and only for rows that carry them |
| **Actor start** | $0.00005 per run | Charged once when the run starts. |

Examples: 1,000 related profiles = $1.50 · 1,000 profiles with details = $3.00.

### ❓ FAQ

**How do I find similar Instagram accounts?** Enter an account you know and run the Actor. You get the accounts Instagram shows as related to it ("suggested for you"), in Instagram's order. Use depth 2 to go one step further.

**Why did an account return no related profiles?** Instagram shows related accounts mostly for large profiles; many accounts under about a million followers show none, and some big brands have the list turned off. Such usernames are listed in the status message and not charged. Start from the largest accounts in your niche.

**How do I find Instagram influencers in my niche?** Start from two or three well-known creators in the niche, set depth 2 and turn on profile details. Then filter the results by `followers`, `isVerified` and keywords in `biography`.

**Do I need an Instagram account or cookies?** No. The Actor works without logging in.

**Are emails or phone numbers included?** No. Instagram does not show contact details to visitors who are not logged in. Bio links (`externalUrls`) are included with profile details.
