## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

### 🚀 Kijiji Listings Scraper

Extract listings from Kijiji, Canada's largest classifieds site. The **Kijiji Listings Scraper** turns any search (buy & sell, cars & vehicles, real estate, jobs, services, pets) into structured data: title, price, posting dates, location with coordinates, seller type, photos and every listing attribute Kijiji shows.

Use it for resale and price research, car and rental market analysis, dealer monitoring or a feed of new listings in your area.

### ✨ Features

- 🇨🇦 **All of Canada**: search the whole country, a province or any of 100+ regions (Toronto GTA, Greater Montréal, Greater Vancouver, Calgary…).
- 🗂️ **Every category**: 100+ categories and sub-categories, from phones and furniture to cars & trucks and apartments for rent.
- 🚗 **Rich attributes**: car make, model, mileage, transmission, drivetrain and colour; rental and item details; everything Kijiji shows on the listing card.
- 🏷️ **Owner vs dealer**: each listing says whether it comes from a private owner or a business.
- 💲 **Price filters and sorting**: minimum/maximum price, newest, oldest, lowest or highest price first.
- 📈 **Large searches**: searches bigger than Kijiji shows at once are collected region by region automatically.
- 🔗 **Paste your own search**: set filters on Kijiji and paste the search URL.

### 🛠️ How It Works

1. **Enter a keyword** (optional) and pick a **category** and **location**, or paste Kijiji search URLs.
2. **Set a price range, sort order and the maximum number of listings.**
3. **Run the scraper.** Listings land in the dataset; the `SUMMARY` record shows how many matched each search.

### ⚙️ Input

| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| `query` | Search keyword, e.g. `iphone`, `sofa`, `honda civic` (optional) |
| `category` | Kijiji category, e.g. Buy & Sell › Phones, Cars & Vehicles › Cars & Trucks, Real Estate › For Rent |
| `location` | Canada, a province or a region |
| `maxItems` | Maximum listings in total (default 50) |
| `minPrice` / `maxPrice` | Price range in CAD |
| `sortBy` | `newest` (default), `oldest`, `priceLow`, `priceHigh` |
| `searchUrls` | Optional Kijiji search pages to use instead of the fields above |

Example: cars & trucks in Ontario between $5,000 and $15,000, cheapest first:

```json
{
    "category": "174",
    "location": "9004",
    "minPrice": 5000,
    "maxPrice": 15000,
    "sortBy": "priceLow",
    "maxItems": 500
}
```

### 📊 Sample Output Data

```json
[
    {
        "id": "1743931877",
        "url": "https://www.kijiji.ca/v-cell-phone/regina/unlocked-iphone-12/1743931877",
        "title": "Unlocked iPhone 12",
        "description": "Screen and frame has scratches all over. Still works as normal. Battery is 80% health",
        "price": 160,
        "priceType": "FIXED",
        "currency": "CAD",
        "postedAt": "2026-09-25T01:20:53.000Z",
        "updatedAt": "2026-09-25T01:20:53.000Z",
        "categoryId": 760,
        "location": "Regina",
        "address": "Regina, SK S4R",
        "latitude": 50.48072,
        "longitude": -104.63032,
        "sellerType": "owner",
        "posterId": "1046774201",
        "priceDrop": false,
        "imageCount": 2,
        "images": [
            "https://media.kijiji.ca/api/v1/ca-prod-fsbo-ads/images/7b/7b46886c-db99-482e-9b4f-27d3f1016aa0?rule=kijijica-960-jpg"
        ],
        "attributes": {
            "phonecarrier": "unlck",
            "phonebrand": "apple"
        }
    }
]
```

`price` is in Canadian dollars; `priceType` is `FIXED`, or Kijiji's label (e.g. `CONTACT`) when the seller gives no amount. `updatedAt` changes when a listing is bumped. `images` holds the main photo shown in search results.

### 💰 Pricing

**$0.001 per listing** ($1 per 1,000 listings).

### ⚠️ Good to know

- Descriptions are the preview Kijiji shows in search results (roughly the first 100–200 characters).
- Kijiji shows about 5,300 listings per search. Bigger searches are split by region automatically; within a region, narrow by category or price to get more.
- Promoted "top ads" are skipped, so results follow your sort order. The same listings still appear when they match normally.
- Seller phone numbers and emails are not included.
