## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Redfin Home Listings Scraper: For Sale and Sold Homes

Get US homes **for sale** and **recently sold** from Redfin in one clean table. Give it ZIP codes, cities or Redfin search URLs and get back price, beds, baths, square feet, lot size, year built, days on market, sold date and sold price, photos and the listing link for every home.

Built for real estate investors, agents running comps, proptech builders and analysts who need fresh market data without copying it by hand.

### What it does

- Searches Redfin by **ZIP code** (78704), **city** (Austin, TX) or any **redfin.com search URL** (city, ZIP, neighborhood or county, with or without filters).
- Returns **for sale** listings (active and coming soon) or **sold** homes from the last week up to the last 5 years.
- Filters by property type, price, bedrooms, bathrooms, square feet and year built.
- Goes past Redfin's limit of 350 homes per search by splitting large areas into price bands automatically.
- Uses the same public search data the Redfin website loads in your browser. No login, no cookies, no account.

### Input

| Field | What it means |
|---|---|
| `locations` | ZIP codes, "City, ST" or redfin.com search URLs. One per line. |
| `status` | `forSale` or `sold`. |
| `soldWithinDays` | For sold searches: 7, 30, 90, 180, 365, 730, 1095 or 1825. |
| `maxItemsPerLocation` | Stop after this many homes per location. Default 200. |
| `propertyTypes` | house, condo, townhouse, multiFamily, land, other, manufactured, coop. Empty means all. |
| `minPrice`, `maxPrice` | Price range in US dollars. |
| `minBeds`, `maxBeds`, `minBaths` | Bedroom and bathroom limits. |
| `minSqft`, `maxSqft` | Interior size range. |
| `minYearBuilt`, `maxYearBuilt` | Year built range. |
| `includeAllPhotos` | Off gives the main photo only. On gives every photo URL. |

A Redfin URL that already carries filters (for example `https://www.redfin.com/zipcode/78704/filter/min-beds=3,include=sold-3mo`) keeps its own filters, so you can set up a search on redfin.com and paste it in.

#### Example input: sold comps

```json
{
  "locations": ["98103", "Bend, OR"],
  "status": "sold",
  "soldWithinDays": "30",
  "propertyTypes": ["house", "townhouse"],
  "minBeds": 3,
  "maxItemsPerLocation": 100
}
```

#### Example input: homes for sale in a price band

```json
{
  "locations": ["78704", "https://www.redfin.com/city/30818/TX/Austin"],
  "status": "forSale",
  "minPrice": 500000,
  "maxPrice": 1500000,
  "minSqft": 1500
}
```

### Output

One row per home. Every row has the same fields, whichever input produced it.

```json
{
  "source": "redfin",
  "listingUrl": "https://www.redfin.com/WA/Seattle/745-N-97th-St-98103/home/99227",
  "address": "745 N 97th St, Seattle, WA 98103",
  "street": "745 N 97th St",
  "city": "Seattle",
  "state": "WA",
  "zip": "98103",
  "latitude": 47.6994283,
  "longitude": -122.3480535,
  "status": "Sold",
  "mlsStatus": "Closed",
  "price": 960000,
  "soldPrice": 960000,
  "soldDate": "2026-09-16",
  "lastSoldDate": null,
  "beds": 4,
  "baths": 3,
  "sqft": 2060,
  "lotSizeSqft": 7453,
  "yearBuilt": 1962,
  "daysOnMarket": null,
  "pricePerSqft": 466,
  "hoaPerMonth": null,
  "propertyType": "House",
  "stories": 1.5,
  "mlsId": "2554795",
  "propertyId": 99227,
  "listingId": 220931349,
  "primaryPhotoUrl": "https://ssl.cdn-redfin.com/photo/1/bigphoto/795/2554795_0.jpg",
  "photoUrls": ["https://ssl.cdn-redfin.com/photo/1/bigphoto/795/2554795_0.jpg"],
  "photoCount": 39,
  "isNewConstruction": false,
  "searchLocation": "98103",
  "scrapedAt": "2026-09-27T05:50:37.358Z"
}
```

`status` is normalized to For sale, Coming soon, Pending or Sold. `mlsStatus` keeps the wording from the listing source. For homes that are for sale, `lastSoldDate` shows the previous sale when Redfin has one. Export as JSON, CSV, Excel or through the Apify API.

### Pricing

Pay per result: **$2 per 1,000 listings** ($0.002 per home). No monthly fee and no charge for platform usage on top. You can set a spending limit on every run and the actor stops cleanly when it is reached.

### Limits

- **Redfin only, on purpose.** Realtor.com and Homes.com were tested and both block automated access from cloud servers with bot challenges. Getting past those would take anti bot evasion, which this actor does not do. They are not included.
- Redfin covers most US metro areas. Some rural areas and a few states have thinner data.
- Days on market is empty for sold homes in most markets, because Redfin shows it only while a home is listed.
- No agent names, phone numbers or emails are collected. Listing descriptions are not copied.
- "City, ST" works for cities that Redfin lists on its state pages. For smaller towns, open the town on redfin.com and paste its URL.
- Very large searches (a whole metro with thousands of homes) are split by price. If a single price band is still full after six splits, the log says so and a few homes may be missing. Add ZIP codes or filters to cover them.

### FAQ

**Do I need a Redfin account or a proxy?**
No. The actor reads public search data with no login. It runs without a proxy by default.

**How fresh is the data?**
It is read live from Redfin at the moment you run the actor. Schedule runs on Apify to track a market daily or weekly.

**How many homes can I get?**
As many as your locations hold. Set `maxItemsPerLocation` to control cost.

**Can I get sold prices for comps?**
Yes. Set `status` to `sold` and choose a period. Each row has `soldPrice` and `soldDate`.

**Is this affiliated with Redfin?**
No. This is an independent tool that reads publicly shown listing data. Redfin is a trademark of its owner.

**Something broke or a field is missing?**
Open an issue on the actor page with your input and we will look at it quickly.

# Actor input Schema

## `locations` (type: `array`):

One per line. A 5 digit ZIP code (78704), a city with its state code (Austin, TX), or any redfin.com search URL for a city, ZIP, neighborhood or county. A Redfin URL that already has filters in it (for example /filter/min-beds=3,include=sold-3mo) keeps those filters and ignores the filter fields below.

For sale returns active and coming soon listings. Sold returns homes sold within the period you pick below.

## `soldWithinDays` (type: `string`):

Only used when status is Sold.
