## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Apple App Store Reviews Scraper (No Login)

Scrape the latest iOS App Store reviews for any app by ID, URL or search term, in any country storefront: rating, title, text, author, app version and votes, plus app metadata (developer, average rating, rating count, genre). Filter to negative reviews.

**Data source:** Apple's public iTunes Search/Lookup API and the App Store customer-reviews RSS feed (itunes.apple.com), which expose up to the 500 most recent reviews per app and country. It needs no login, proxy or browser. Results are returned as clean, flat JSON that is ready for spreadsheets, databases, BI tools and AI agents.

### What can you use it for?

- Monitor reviews of your app and competitors (schedule daily)
- Collect negative reviews for product research and bug triage
- Sentiment analysis and AI summarization of user feedback
- Compare ratings across countries
- Use it as a tool from AI agents through the Apify MCP server, or schedule it and send new results to Slack, Google Sheets or a webhook

### Input

| Field | Name | Description |
|---|---|---|
| `appIds` | App IDs or App Store URLs | e.g. 1232780281 or https://apps.apple.com/us/app/notion/id1232780281 |
| `searchTerms` | Search terms | Find apps by name and scrape their reviews |
| `maxApps` | Apps per search term | Top N apps per search term |
| `country` | Country storefront | Two-letter country code, e.g. us, gb, de, in |
| `maxReviewsPerApp` | Max reviews per app | Apple exposes at most the 500 most recent reviews |
| `maxRating` | Max star rating | Only reviews with this many stars or fewer (e.g. 2 for negative reviews) |
| `includeAppRowWhenNoReviews` | Output app row when no reviews | Emit one metadata row for apps with no matching reviews |

#### Example input

```json
{
  "appIds": [
    "1232780281"
  ],
  "maxReviewsPerApp": 10,
  "country": "us"
}
```

### Output

Each result is one dataset item with these fields: `appId`, `appName`, `developer`, `bundleId`, `appRating`, `appRatingCount`, `appVersion`, `appUrl`, `genre`, `price`, `country`, `reviewId`, `rating`, `title`, `review`, `author`, `reviewedVersion`, `voteCount`, `voteSum`, `reviewedAt`.

#### Example output (real result, long fields shortened)

```json
{
  "appId": "1232780281",
  "appName": "Notion: Notes, Tasks, AI",
  "developer": "Notion Labs, Incorporated",
  "bundleId": "notion.id",
  "appRating": 4.77482,
  "appRatingCount": 90554,
  "appVersion": "1.7.350",
  "appUrl": "https://apps.apple.com/us/app/notion-notes-tasks-ai/id1232780281?uo=4",
  "genre": "Productivity",
  "price": 0,
  "country": "us",
  "reviewId": "14724438784",
  "rating": 5,
  "title": "I LOVE NOTION !",
  "review": "Literally my Go-To for all things productivity and keeping my brain organized and cute at the same time 🤣🩷",
  "author": "Sheya the Admin Girlie 🌸",
  "reviewedVersion": "1.7.350",
  "voteCount": 0,
  "voteSum": 0,
  "reviewedAt": "2026-10-28T22:37:23-07:00"
}
```

Download the results as JSON, CSV, Excel or XML, or read them through the Apify API.

### Pricing

This Actor uses **pay-per-event** pricing. You pay **$0.0005 per review** returned, plus standard Apify platform usage, which is small because the Actor uses lightweight HTTP requests (no browser). You are never charged for results that are not returned. To cap spending, set a maximum cost per run in the run options.

### Tips

- Start with a small max-results value to check your filters, then scale up.
- Schedule the Actor (for example daily) to monitor changes over time.
- The data comes straight from the source, so its freshness and completeness depend on that publisher.
