## Pricing

from $0.60 / 1,000 keywords

This Actor is paid per event. You are not charged for the Apify platform usage, but only a fixed price for specific events.
Since this Actor supports Apify Store discounts, the price gets lower the higher subscription plan you have.

## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Amazon Keyword Research: Search Volume & Reverse ASIN

An **Amazon keyword research** tool with three modes in one Actor:

1. **Amazon search volume**: paste up to 10,000 keywords and get the monthly Amazon searches of each one.
2. **Related keywords**: give seed keywords, get the related searches Amazon shoppers type, with their volume.
3. **Reverse ASIN**: give a product ID (ASIN), get the Amazon searches it ranks for, with its rank, the search volume and the product's price and rating shown in the results.

16 Amazon markets for search volume. **You pay $0.0006 per keyword with data, plus a $0.03 fee per batch of 250 keywords, per seed keyword or per ASIN.** Keywords without volume come back free, so you know they were checked. It also works as an **MCP tool** for AI agents.

### Typical uses

- Check the Amazon search volume of your listing keywords before writing a title, bullets or backend search terms.
- Find long-tail Amazon keywords around a product idea (related keywords, up to 1,000 per seed).
- Reverse ASIN a competitor: see which searches bring its traffic and where it ranks, then target the same keywords.
- Size a niche: total monthly Amazon searches for a list of product keywords, per country.
- Feed keyword data into Google Sheets, n8n / Make workflows or an AI agent.

### Why this one

- **Three tools in one**: Amazon search volume, related keywords and reverse ASIN lookup, same output format.
- **Low cost per keyword**: 1,000 keywords that all have volume cost $0.72; a reverse ASIN with 100 keywords about $0.09.
- **No charge for keywords without data**, for a seed or ASIN with nothing found beyond its fee, nor for a request the source failed to answer.
- **Hard cost cap**: the run stops before the maximum cost you set.
- **No Amazon account, no browser, no Amazon page opened**: the data comes from a commercial e-commerce keyword data provider.

### What you get for each keyword

| Field | Modes | Description |
|---|---|---|
| `mode` | all | `searchVolume`, `relatedKeywords` or `reverseAsin` |
| `keyword` | all | Amazon keyword, lowercase |
| `found` | all | `false` on free rows (no volume, or nothing found for a seed / ASIN) |
| `searchVolume` | all | Approximate monthly searches on Amazon |
| `seedKeyword`, `depth`, `relatedKeywords`, `volumeUpdatedAt` | related | Seed, distance from the seed (0 = the seed), Amazon's related searches, date of the volume |
| `asin`, `rank`, `rankAbsolute` | reverse ASIN | Product ID, organic position for the keyword, position counting ads |
| `productTitle`, `priceFrom`, `currency`, `rating`, `ratingCount`, `isBestSeller`, `isAmazonChoice`, `boughtPastMonth` | reverse ASIN | The product as shown in the results for that keyword (`boughtPastMonth` = Amazon's "bought in past month" count, null when not shown) |
| `searchResultsCount`, `rankCheckedAt`, `totalRankedKeywords` | reverse ASIN | Results for the keyword, when the rank was checked, how many keywords the product ranks for in total |
| `market`, `marketName`, `locationCode`, `languageCode` | all | Amazon market of the data |
| `observedAt`, `schemaVersion` | all | When the data was fetched, row format version |

### Input

- **mode**: `searchVolume` (default), `relatedKeywords` or `reverseAsin`.
- **keywords**: search volume mode: up to 10,000 keywords (80 characters and 10 words each); related keywords mode: up to 500 seed keywords. Lowercased, duplicates removed.
- **asins**: reverse ASIN mode: up to 500 ASINs such as `B00R92CL5E`, or product URLs containing `/dp/ASIN` (only the ID is read from the text).
- **market**: search volume: US, UK, Canada, Australia, India, Singapore, Germany, Austria, France, Italy, Spain, Mexico, Netherlands, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Egypt. Related keywords and reverse ASIN: **US, UAE, Saudi Arabia and Egypt only** (the data source has no other markets for them; other markets are refused before anything is charged).
- **maxResultsPerQuery**: related keywords and reverse ASIN: most keywords per seed or ASIN (default 100, up to 1,000).
- **depth**: related keywords: 1 to 4 (default 3); about 6, 42, 258 or 1,554 keywords at most.
- **sortBy**: reverse ASIN: `searchVolume` (default, biggest searches first) or `rank` (best positions first).
- **ignoreSynonyms**: return core keywords only, without near-duplicate variants.

### Pricing

- **$0.0006 per keyword with data**: a keyword with an Amazon search volume, a related keyword, or a keyword the ASIN ranks for.
- **plus $0.03 per Amazon lookup**: one per seed keyword, one per ASIN, or one per batch of up to 250 keywords in search volume mode (1 to 250 keywords = 1 batch, 251 to 500 = 2). Charged only once the data source has answered.

Examples: 100 keywords with volume cost about **$0.09**; 1,000 keywords with 800 found about **$0.60**; a reverse ASIN or a seed keyword with 100 keywords about **$0.09**. No subscription. See the **Pricing** tab for the current prices.
Keywords without volume, duplicates and invalid values are never billed. Input mistakes (unsupported market, empty list) stop the run with a clear message and cost nothing.
The run never spends more than the maximum cost you set.

**Free Apify plan:** each run checks the first 20 keywords, or 2 seed keywords / ASINs with 20 keywords each, so you can test the output. A paid Apify plan removes this limit.

### Run summary

Each run also stores a summary in the key-value store (`OUTPUT`): keywords checked, with and without data, lookups charged, per seed or ASIN the number of keywords available and returned, duplicates removed, invalid values with the reason, and anything skipped because of the free-plan or budget limit.

### Use it from code, automations or AI agents

**API (one call, results returned directly):**

```bash
curl -X POST "https://api.apify.com/v2/acts/plainrows~amazon-keyword-research/run-sync-get-dataset-items?token=YOUR_APIFY_TOKEN" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{"mode": "reverseAsin", "asins": ["B00R92CL5E"], "market": "US", "maxResultsPerQuery": 100}'
```

**n8n, Make, Zapier:** use the Apify integration and pick `plainrows/amazon-keyword-research` as the Actor; map the dataset items to your sheet or database.

**AI agents (MCP tool):** add `https://mcp.apify.com?tools=plainrows/amazon-keyword-research` to Claude, Cursor or any MCP client. The agent gets a typed tool with the input and output schemas of this page and pays per result.

### Limits

- Search volumes are estimates from a commercial data provider, not numbers published by Amazon. Very new or very rare keywords may have no data.
- Ranks are those the provider saw at `rankCheckedAt`, not live positions.
- Related keywords and reverse ASIN: US, UAE, Saudi Arabia and Egypt only.
- The same keyword may appear under two seeds: each seed gets its own list.
- This tool is not affiliated with Amazon. Amazon is a trademark of Amazon.com, Inc.
- For Google volumes, use [PlainRows Keyword Search Volume](https://apify.com/plainrows/keyword-search-volume); for Amazon products, [PlainRows Amazon Product Search Scraper](https://apify.com/plainrows/amazon-product-search).

### FAQ

**How do I check the Amazon search volume of many keywords at once?**
Keep the mode on **Amazon search volume**, paste your keywords (up to 10,000), pick the market and run. You get one row per keyword with its monthly Amazon searches.

**What is a reverse ASIN lookup?**
You give a product's ASIN; the tool returns the Amazon searches the product appears for, its rank on each, and the search volume, sorted by volume or by rank.

**Which countries are covered?**
Search volume: 16 Amazon markets (list above). Related keywords and reverse ASIN: United States, UAE, Saudi Arabia and Egypt.

**What does it cost for 1,000 keywords?**
4 batch fees ($0.12) plus $0.0006 per keyword with volume: about $0.60 if 800 of them have data. Keywords without data are free.

**Can I use it in Google Sheets, n8n, Make or an AI agent?**
Yes: through the Apify API, the Apify integrations for n8n, Make and Zapier, or the Apify MCP server (see above).

# Actor input Schema

## `mode` (type: `string`):

Search volume: one row per keyword you list, with its monthly Amazon searches. Related keywords: Amazon keywords related to each seed keyword. Reverse ASIN: the Amazon searches a product (ASIN) ranks for, with its rank.

## `keywords` (type: `array`):

Search volume mode: keywords to look up, one per line (up to 10,000 per run, 80 characters and 10 words each; lowercased, duplicates removed). Sent in batches of 250: each batch costs one fee, so group your keywords in one run. Related keywords mode: seed keywords (up to 500), one fee each.

## `asins` (type: `array`):

Reverse ASIN mode only: Amazon product IDs such as B00R92CL5E, or product URLs containing /dp/ASIN (only the ID is read from the text; no Amazon page is opened). Up to 500 per run, one fee each.

## `market` (type: `string`):

Amazon marketplace the data is for. Search volume: all 16 markets. Related keywords and reverse ASIN: United States, United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia and Egypt only (other markets are refused before anything is charged).

## `maxResultsPerQuery` (type: `integer`):

Related keywords and reverse ASIN modes: most keywords returned per seed keyword or ASIN (1 to 1,000). Each keyword returned is one billed result.

## `depth` (type: `integer`):

Related keywords mode: how far to follow 'related searches' from the seed. About 6 keywords at depth 1, 42 at 2, 258 at 3, 1,554 at 4 (most); the max keywords per seed still applies.

## `sortBy` (type: `string`):

Reverse ASIN mode: which keywords come first when the product ranks for more than the max keywords per ASIN.

## `ignoreSynonyms` (type: `boolean`):

Related keywords and reverse ASIN modes: return core keywords only, without highly similar variants.
