## Pricing

from $1.00 / 1,000 places

This Actor is paid per event. You are not charged for the Apify platform usage, but only a fixed price for specific events.
Since this Actor supports Apify Store discounts, the price gets lower the higher subscription plan you have.

## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Google Maps Businesses Scraper: Leads, Phones & Ratings

Turn any Google Maps search into a clean list of businesses: **name, category, full address, phone, website, rating, number of reviews, opening hours, GPS coordinates and Place ID**. Type what you would type in Google Maps (`plumber in Austin`, `dentist 75011 Paris`) and get up to 700 places per search.

It calls a licensed search data API instead of driving a browser: **results in seconds, no proxies, no blocked runs, no Google account.** **You only pay for places returned**: searches with no result and places removed by your filters are free.

### Typical uses

- **Lead generation**: local businesses by trade and city, with phone and website, ready for your CRM or cold-calling list.
- **Web design and marketing agencies**: find businesses **without a website** (`website: "without"`) or with a low rating.
- **Local SEO**: see who ranks in the Google Maps pack for a query, with rating, review count and claimed status.
- **Market research**: count and map competitors, franchises or points of sale in an area.
- **Automations and AI agents**: feed n8n, Make, Zapier, Google Sheets or an MCP client with structured JSON.

### What you get for each place

| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| `name`, `category`, `additionalCategories`, `categoryIds` | Business name and Google categories (`categoryIds` are language-independent, e.g. `pizza_restaurant`) |
| `address`, `street`, `city`, `postalCode`, `region`, `countryCode` | Address, also split into parts |
| `latitude`, `longitude` | GPS coordinates |
| `phone` | Business phone, international format |
| `website`, `domain`, `bookingUrl` | Website listed on Google Maps, its domain, Google booking link |
| `rating`, `reviewsCount`, `ratingDistribution` | Average rating, number of ratings, count of 1 to 5 star ratings |
| `priceLevel`, `isClaimed`, `photosCount`, `imageUrl` | Price level, whether the owner claimed the listing, photos |
| `openingHours` | Hours per weekday, e.g. `{"monday": ["09:00-17:30"]}`; an empty list means closed |
| `placeId`, `cid`, `googleMapsUrl` | Google identifiers and a direct Google Maps link |
| `rank` | Position in the Google Maps results for your query (sponsored pins excluded) |
| `searchQuery`, `observedAt` | The query that found it and when (UTC) |

Missing values are always `null`, never guessed. Each place appears once per query.

### Pricing

Pay per place returned, no subscription, no fee per run, no proxy costs. See the **Pricing** tab for current prices: one event per **place found**, cheaper on higher Apify plans. Hours, phone, website and coordinates are included in that price (no "details" add-on).

Searches with no result, duplicates, places removed by your filters and input mistakes cost nothing. The run never spends more than the maximum cost you set.

**Free Apify plan:** each run returns up to 20 places for up to 2 queries, so you can check the output. A paid Apify plan removes these limits.

### Use it from code, automations or AI agents

**API (one call, results returned directly):**

```bash
curl -X POST "https://api.apify.com/v2/acts/plainrows~google-maps-businesses/run-sync-get-dataset-items?token=YOUR_APIFY_TOKEN" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{"searchQueries": ["coffee shop in Austin, TX"], "maxPlacesPerQuery": 50}'
```

**n8n, Make, Zapier:** use the Apify integration, pick `plainrows/google-maps-businesses`, and map the dataset items to Google Sheets, HubSpot, Airtable or your database.

**AI agents (MCP):** add `https://mcp.apify.com?tools=plainrows/google-maps-businesses` to Claude, Cursor or any MCP client. The agent gets a typed tool and pays per result.

### What this is not

- **No reviews text, no reviewer names, no e-mails.** It returns business listing data only.
- Not a full Google Maps clone: popular times, menus and Q\&A are not included.
- Not affiliated with Google.

### Run summary

Each run stores a summary in the key-value store (`OUTPUT`): queries run, queries with no result, places billed, places removed by filters, duplicates and invalid queries, and anything skipped because of the free-plan or budget limit.

### FAQ

**How do I export businesses from Google Maps to Excel or Google Sheets?**
Enter searches such as `plumber in Austin, TX`, run, then download the results as CSV or Excel from the run page, or send them to Google Sheets with n8n, Make or Zapier.

**Can I find businesses without a website?**
Yes: set **website** to `without`, and **requirePhone** to keep only places with a phone number. Places removed by these filters are not billed.

**How many places can I get per search?**
1 to 700 per search (**maxPlacesPerQuery**). To cover a large city, run several searches by neighbourhood, or search around **coordinates** with a closer **zoom**.

**Do I need proxies, a browser or a Google account?**
No. The data comes from a licensed search data API, so runs are fast and you only pay per place returned.

**Does it return e-mails or reviews?**
No: business listing data only (name, category, address, phone, website, rating, reviews count, hours, coordinates, Place ID). No e-mails, no review texts, no reviewer names.
