## Pricing

from $0.50 / 1,000 jobs

This Actor is paid per event. You are not charged for the Apify platform usage, but only a fixed price for specific events.
Since this Actor supports Apify Store discounts, the price gets lower the higher subscription plan you have.

## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Reed.co.uk Jobs Scraper

Get **UK job ads from Reed** (reed.co.uk) for any keyword and town: **job title, employer (company or agency), location and county, salary as shown plus min / max / currency / period, contract type (permanent, contract, temporary), full-time / part-time, remote / hybrid / on-site, posting, creation and closing dates, category, description snippet and job link**. Type a keyword and a location ("nurse" in "Manchester") or paste search URLs copied from reed.co.uk, filters included.

Plain HTTP requests, no browser: **no login, no account, no cookies**. The Actor reads only the public search pages, one page at a time per search with a pause between pages, and respects Reed's robots.txt.

### Typical uses

- **Job market and salary research**: how many software, nursing or warehouse jobs Reed lists in a city, and what they pay per hour, day or year.
- **Recruitment agencies and sales teams**: which companies and agencies are hiring, for what, where.
- **Job boards and alerts**: feed new UK ads into your own site, Slack, Google Sheets or an AI agent every day.
- **HR and workforce planning**: track the share of remote, hybrid and contract jobs in your field.
- **Spreadsheets, BI and AI agents**: clean rows for Google Sheets, n8n, Make, Zapier or an MCP client.

### What you get

One row per job ad:

| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| `search`, `searchUrl` | Your search and the page read |
| `jobId`, `url` | Reed job ID and job link |
| `title` | Job title |
| `employer`, `employerType`, `employerUrl` | Company or recruitment agency that posted the ad (`agency` or `employer`), and its Reed page |
| `location`, `county` | Town or area, and county |
| `salaryText` | Salary line as Reed shows it (`£45,000 - £55,000 per annum`, `Competitive salary`) |
| `salaryMin`, `salaryMax`, `salaryCurrency`, `salaryPeriod` | Figures when an amount is shown; period `hour`, `day`, `week`, `month` or `year` |
| `contractType` | `permanent`, `contract` or `temporary` |
| `fullTime`, `partTime` | As shown (both true for "full-time or part-time") |
| `workplace`, `remote` | `remote`, `hybrid` or `on-site`; `remote` is true for fully remote jobs |
| `postedAt`, `createdAt`, `expiresAt` | Date shown on Reed, first creation, closing date (UK time) |
| `category`, `subcategory` | Reed job category |
| `description` | Description snippet shown on the search page |
| `easyApply`, `promoted` | Reed Easy Apply, promoted ad |
| `page`, `position`, `totalResults` | Where the job was, and how many jobs Reed reports |
| `observedAt` | When the page was read (UTC) |

Missing values are always `null`, never guessed. No recruiter or contact name is collected. A search without jobs (or blocked, or unreadable) gets one free row with `found: false`, a `status` and a `message`.

#### Example row

```json
{
  "search": "https://www.reed.co.uk/jobs/software-developer-jobs",
  "found": true,
  "jobId": "57356716",
  "title": "Software Engineer",
  "employer": "Opus Recruitment Solutions Ltd",
  "employerType": "agency",
  "location": "Scotland",
  "salaryText": "£375 - £415 per day",
  "salaryMin": 375,
  "salaryMax": 415,
  "salaryCurrency": "GBP",
  "salaryPeriod": "day",
  "contractType": "contract",
  "fullTime": true,
  "partTime": false,
  "workplace": "hybrid",
  "remote": false,
  "url": "https://www.reed.co.uk/jobs/software-engineer/57356716",
  "status": "FOUND"
}
```

### Input

```json
{
  "searchUrls": ["https://www.reed.co.uk/jobs/nurse-jobs-in-manchester"],
  "keywords": ["data analyst", "accountant"],
  "locations": ["London", "Milton Keynes"],
  "maxResultsPerSearch": 50
}
```

- **searchUrls**: search pages from reed.co.uk (`/jobs/<keyword>-jobs-in-<place>`, with any filter such as `?perm=true`). The page number is ignored. URLs sorted with `sortBy` are refused by Reed's robots.txt.
- **keywords** and **locations**: each keyword is searched in each location; with no location, across the UK.
- **maxResultsPerSearch**: 1 to 1,000 (default 50). Reed shows 25 jobs per page; the Actor reads up to 40 pages per search.

Up to 100 searches per run. Jobs found by two of your searches are returned and billed once.

### Pricing

Pay per event: **one event per job returned**, plus a small start fee per run ($0.002).

| Plan | Per job | Per 1,000 jobs |
|---|---|---|
| Free | $0.0008 | $0.80 |
| Bronze | $0.0007 | $0.70 |
| Silver | $0.0006 | $0.60 |
| Gold | $0.0005 | $0.50 |

Free: searches without jobs, pages that are blocked or cannot be read, ads without title, employer or location, duplicates and input mistakes. On the free Apify plan, a run reads up to 3 searches and 25 jobs per search.

### FAQ

**Is it legal?** The Actor reads only pages anyone can see without an account, at a slow pace, and respects robots.txt. It returns the job ad as Reed publishes it, and no recruiter or contact name. Reed's terms of use restrict automated access: you are responsible for how you use the data (UK GDPR included). This is not legal advice.

**Does it return the full job description?** Not yet: the search page shows a snippet of about 250 characters, which is what you get. Open `url` for the full ad.

**Why is the salary null when there is a salary line?** Ads shown as "Competitive salary" or "Salary negotiable" have no amount on the page; the Actor does not reveal figures the employer chose not to show.

**Why are some searches empty or BLOCKED?** If Reed refuses a request (rate limit or bot check), the Actor stops that search and charges nothing beyond the results already delivered. If this happens after the first page, the run summary warns that the search stopped early and its results are partial. It never solves or bypasses a check. Try again later or with fewer searches per run.

**Dates?** `postedAt` is the date Reed shows on the ad (posted or refreshed), in UK local time.

# Actor input Schema

## `searchUrls` (type: `array`):

Job search pages copied from reed.co.uk, e.g. https://www.reed.co.uk/jobs/nurse-jobs-in-manchester (filters in the URL such as ?perm=true are kept). The page number is ignored: the Actor reads the pages itself. URLs sorted with sortBy are refused by Reed's robots.txt. Up to 100 searches per run.

## `keywords` (type: `array`):

Job titles or skills ("software developer", "accountant", "warehouse operative"). Each keyword is searched in each location below, or across the UK when no location is given.

## `locations` (type: `array`):

UK towns, cities or counties ("London", "Milton Keynes", "Kent"), used with the keywords above. Leave empty to search the whole UK.

## `maxResultsPerSearch` (type: `integer`):

Reed shows 25 jobs per page; the Actor reads up to 40 pages (1,000 jobs) per search, one after the other.
