## Pricing

from $4.50 / 1,000 company enricheds

This Actor is paid per event. You are not charged for the Apify platform usage, but only a fixed price for specific events.
Since this Actor supports Apify Store discounts, the price gets lower the higher subscription plan you have.

## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## AI Company Enrichment: Industry, Summary & Signals by Domain

**Turn a list of company domains into a clean, consistent company profile read from each company's own website.** For every domain you get a one-line description, industry with a NAICS code and sub-industry, B2B or B2C, business model, products and services, target customers, pricing model, hiring status, an estimated size band, HQ and founding year when the site states them, company emails and phones, social links and tech stack. You can also add your own yes/no questions, such as *"Do they sell to hospitals?"*, and get an answer with a supporting quote.

Every fact comes from the company's public website. If something is not on the site, the field is `null`. Quotes the AI gives as evidence are checked against the page text, and facts whose quote cannot be found are dropped.

### What does AI Company Enrichment do?

For each company it reads up to 6 public pages: the homepage plus the about, pricing, careers, contact, team and product pages it can find. It then:

- **Classifies the company:** industry, sub-industry, NAICS code and sector, B2B / B2C, business model (SaaS, ecommerce, marketplace, agency, manufacturer and more).
- **Summarises what they do:** one plain sentence, main products and services, and the customer segments the site says it serves.
- **Reads pricing:** pricing model, plans summary, starting price and whether there is a free plan or trial, with the pricing page URL.
- **Checks hiring:** careers page URL, and the number of open jobs when the company uses Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby, Workable, SmartRecruiters or Recruitee (read from their public job-board APIs).
- **Estimates company size:** a size band clearly labelled as an estimate, with the on-site signals it rests on and a confidence level. A headcount stated on the site is returned separately, with its quote.
- **Collects contact details:** company inboxes (info@, sales@, support@ and similar), phone numbers, a postal address found on the site and links to LinkedIn, X, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, TikTok and GitHub.
- **Detects technologies:** CMS, ecommerce platform, analytics, marketing automation, payments, live chat, hosting and CDN.
- **Answers your questions:** up to 10 custom yes/no questions per run, each answered `yes`, `no` or `not stated`, with the quote and page that support it.

### Who uses it?

- **Sales and RevOps teams** cleaning and segmenting CRM accounts or inbound leads by industry, model and size.
- **Lead generation and agencies** qualifying prospect lists before outreach ("Do they sell to hospitals?", "Do they have an online store?").
- **Investors and analysts** screening long company lists quickly with consistent fields.
- **Marketplaces and partner teams** categorising sellers, vendors or applicants from their websites.
- **AI agents and automations** that need a reliable "who is this company" step.

### How to use it

1. Click **Try for free** (or **Start**).
2. Paste your **company domains or websites**, one per line (`acme.com` or `https://www.acme.com`).
3. Optionally add **custom yes/no questions**.
4. Optionally add **your own Anthropic API key** for the lower own-key price.
5. Run it and export the results to Excel, CSV, JSON or Google Sheets, or send them to your CRM.

### How much does it cost?

You pay per company enriched. Websites that cannot be reached, return an error or block automated access are listed with `"status": "error"` and **are not charged**.

| | Price per company | Per 1,000 companies |
|---|---|---|
| Built-in AI | $0.006 | $6 |
| Your own Anthropic API key | $0.003 | $3 (plus your AI cost, about $1.50 per 1,000) |

**Worked examples:** 200 inbound leads cost $2.00. A 5,000-account CRM clean-up costs $50, or $15 with your own key. The default 3-company test run costs about $0.03.

**Volume discounts on higher Apify plans.** The prices above are for the Apify Free plan. On paid plans the per-company price drops automatically.

### Accuracy and limits

- **Nothing is invented.** The AI is told to use only the page text. HQ, founding year, stated headcount and pricing must come with a verbatim quote that is found on the pages, or they are returned as `null`. Custom answers without a supporting quote become `not stated`.
- **The size band is an estimate.** It is based only on on-site signals (stated headcount, team page, open jobs, offices) and comes with `sizeEstimateBasis` and `sizeEstimateConfidence`. Treat `low` confidence as a rough guide.
- **`addressOnSite`** is the first postal address found on the site (often from structured data); for companies with many offices it may be one of several. `hqLocation` is only filled when the site says where the headquarters is.
- **Only company inboxes are returned** (info@, sales@, support@ and similar), not personal email addresses.
- **robots.txt is respected.** Sites that disallow crawling, block automated visitors (HTTP 403) or need JavaScript to show any text cannot be enriched; they are reported but not charged. If a site's robots.txt declares `ai-input=no`, its text is not sent to the AI model and the record is saved free of charge with only the non-AI fields.
- Industry, NAICS code, customer type and business model are classifications inferred from what the site says it sells.

### FAQ

**Is this legal?** The tool reads ordinary public pages of websites you provide, follows robots.txt and identifies itself. It does not log in, solve CAPTCHAs or use social networks. You are responsible for how you use the data, including data-protection rules such as GDPR for any contact details.

**Do I need an API key?** No. The built-in AI is included in the price. Adding your own Anthropic key lowers the price per company.

**Can I use it via API, Make, Zapier or n8n?** Yes. Start runs with the Apify API (`POST https://api.apify.com/v2/acts/plotpointtech~ai-company-enrichment/run-sync-get-dataset-items?token=YOUR_API_TOKEN` with the input JSON), or connect it to Make, Zapier, n8n, Google Sheets, HubSpot or any webhook through Apify integrations. Use Schedules to re-enrich lists regularly.

**Can AI agents use it?** Yes. Add the hosted Apify MCP server `https://mcp.apify.com?tools=plotpointtech/ai-company-enrichment` to Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor or any MCP client, and the agent can enrich companies on demand.

**Why is a field null?** Because the website does not state it, or the supporting quote could not be verified. That is deliberate: empty is better than wrong.
