## Pricing

from $1.24 / 1,000 image saveds

This Actor is paid per event. You are not charged for the Apify platform usage, but only a fixed price for specific events.
Since this Actor supports Apify Store discounts, the price gets lower the higher subscription plan you have.

## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Bulk Image Downloader: All Images from Any Website, with ZIP

**Give this tool one or more web pages and it finds every image on them, downloads the files and stores them for you, with a clean list of what was saved.** It can also crawl a website from a start page (same site only) or simply download a list of image URLs you already have. **$2 per 1,000 images.**

### What can this image downloader do?

- **Find images everywhere on a page:** `<img>` tags with `srcset` (largest size picked), `<picture>` sources, lazy-loading attributes (`data-src`, `data-srcset`, `data-lazy-src`...), `og:image` and `twitter:image`, CSS background images, links to image files (galleries) and video posters.
- **Render JavaScript** (optional) with a headless browser that scrolls the page, for images added by scripts.
- **Crawl a site** with page and depth limits, staying on the same host.
- **Filter** by minimum width and height and by real file format (JPEG, PNG, GIF, WebP, SVG, AVIF, BMP, ICO, TIFF), and skip icons and tracking pixels.
- **De-duplicate** by content hash (SHA-256).
- **Pack everything into a ZIP** alongside the individual files.

### What data do you get?

| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| `pageUrl`, `imageUrl`, `finalImageUrl` | Where the image was found and its URL |
| `altText` | Alt text or figure caption |
| `width`, `height`, `format`, `bytes` | Read from the file itself |
| `sha256` | Content hash |
| `storedFileUrl`, `storedKey` | Direct link to the saved file in your Apify storage |
| `foundIn` | img, srcset, picture, lazy-attr, og:image, css-background, linked-image, rendered-img or direct-url |

The ZIP link, if requested, is in the run's status message, log and `OUTPUT` record.

### Who uses it?

- **E-commerce and marketing teams** collecting their own product photos from a site.
- **Agencies** migrating a client's website.
- **SEO teams** auditing image sizes, formats and missing alt text.
- **Developers** building image datasets from sites they own or are licensed to use.

### How to use it

1. Click **Try for free** (or **Start**).
2. Add **Page URLs** (or **Direct image URLs**).
3. Optionally turn on **Crawl the site**, set a **Minimum width** and choose **Formats to keep**.
4. Turn on **Also create a ZIP** to download everything at once.
5. Run it and download the ZIP or individual files.

### Input example

```json
{
  "startUrls": [
    {
      "url": "https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lighthouse_of_Alexandria"
    }
  ],
  "crawlSameDomain": false,
  "minWidth": 300,
  "formats": [
    "jpeg",
    "png",
    "webp"
  ],
  "createZip": true
}
```

### Output example

```json
{
  "pageUrl": "https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lighthouse_of_Alexandria",
  "imageUrl": "https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/1/13/AlexLighthouse01.jpg",
  "finalImageUrl": null,
  "altText": "Lighthouse remains found in the Mediterranean Sea",
  "width": 800,
  "height": 600,
  "format": "jpeg",
  "bytes": 259193,
  "sha256": "8aa411b9281228ee017cb265487e5af220fd2de411ce954f5187d626d950665e",
  "storedFileUrl": "https://api.apify.com/v2/key-value-stores/WWGqtfFAXQybgbEx0/records/8aa411b92812-AlexLighthouse01.jpg?signature=1E2J4zFEAR7MrRxNfGEhu",
  "storedKey": "8aa411b92812-AlexLighthouse01.jpg",
  "foundIn": "srcset"
}
```

### How much does it cost?

**$2 per 1,000 images saved** ($0.002 each), plus a $0.00005 start fee per run.

| You save | You pay |
|---|---|
| 50 images from one page | $0.10 |
| 1,000 images from a 100-page site | $2.00 |
| 10,000 images | $20.00 |

Pages that fail to load, failed downloads, images removed by your filters and duplicates are not charged.

**Volume discounts on higher Apify plans.** The prices above are for the Apify Free plan. On paid plans the per-result price drops automatically: about 15% lower on Bronze, 25% lower on Silver and 38% lower on Gold and above.

### Use it via API, Make, Zapier, n8n or an AI agent

**Apify API.** Start a run and get the results back in one HTTP request (replace `YOUR_API_TOKEN` with the token from Apify Console > Settings > Integrations):

```bash
curl -X POST "https://api.apify.com/v2/acts/plotpointtech~bulk-image-downloader-extractor/run-sync-get-dataset-items?token=YOUR_API_TOKEN" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{"startUrls": [{"url": "https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lighthouse_of_Alexandria"}], "crawlSameDomain": false, "minWidth": 300, "formats": ["jpeg", "png", "webp"], "createZip": true}'
```

For longer jobs, start the run asynchronously and read the dataset when it finishes. Official `apify-client` libraries exist for Python and JavaScript; the **API** tab on this page has ready-made code.

**No-code automation.** Connect the tool to **Make, Zapier, n8n, Google Sheets, Slack, Airtable** or any webhook with Apify integrations, and use **Schedules** in Apify Console to run it hourly, daily or weekly.

**AI agents (MCP).** Give Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, VS Code or any MCP-compatible agent direct access to this tool through the hosted Apify MCP server. Add this server URL to your client:

```
https://mcp.apify.com?tools=plotpointtech/bulk-image-downloader-extractor
```

The agent can then call the tool with the same input fields shown above and read the results.

### FAQ

**Is it legal to download images from websites?**
Most images on the web are protected by copyright. Only download images you own, are licensed to use, or may use under the law that applies to you (for example fair use), and follow each website's terms. The tool always obeys robots.txt for pages and image files, spaces out requests, and does not log in, use cookies or get around blocking.

**Does it get full-size images?**
Yes, when a page offers several sizes (srcset or `<picture>`), the largest is downloaded by default, and gallery links to full-size files are followed.

**Why are some images missing?**
Images added by JavaScript need "Render JavaScript" (use 2048 MB memory). Inline `data:` images are not saved, and pages behind a login or bot check do not work.

**How long are the files kept?**
As long as your Apify plan retains run storage. Download what you need or use the ZIP.

**Can I just download a list of image URLs?**
Yes. Put them in **Direct image URLs**.

# Actor input Schema

## `startUrls` (type: `array`):

Web pages to find images on. Each page is scanned for <img>, srcset, <picture>, lazy-load attributes, og:image, CSS backgrounds and links to image files. If a URL is itself an image, it is downloaded directly.

## `imageUrls` (type: `array`):

Optional list of image file URLs to download as they are (no page scanning).

## `crawlSameDomain` (type: `boolean`):

Follow links on each start page to other pages on the same website (same host) and collect their images too.

## `maxPagesPerSite` (type: `integer`):

With crawling on: the most pages to scan for each start URL's website, including the start page.

## `maxCrawlDepth` (type: `integer`):

With crawling on: how many clicks away from the start page to go.

## `maxImages` (type: `integer`):

Stop after saving this many images. 0 means no limit (your maximum cost per run still applies).

## `maxImagesPerPage` (type: `integer`):

Optional cap on new images taken from any single page. 0 means no cap.

## `minWidth` (type: `integer`):

Skip images narrower than this. Images whose size cannot be read are skipped when this is set.

## `minHeight` (type: `integer`):

Skip images shorter than this.

## `skipTinyImages` (type: `boolean`):

Skip images under 50 px in width or height (icons, spacers, 1x1 tracking pixels) and known analytics pixel URLs.

## `formats` (type: `array`):

Only save these formats (detected from the file content, not the URL). Leave empty for all.

## `preferLargestSrcset` (type: `boolean`):

When an image offers several sizes (srcset or <picture>), download the largest one.

## `dedupeByContent` (type: `boolean`):

Skip an image if identical file content (same SHA-256) was already saved in this run, even under a different URL. Duplicates are not charged.

## `includeOgImage` (type: `boolean`):

Include the page's social sharing image.

## `includeCssBackgrounds` (type: `boolean`):

Include background-image URLs in inline style attributes, <style> blocks and data-bg attributes.

## `includeLinkedImages` (type: `boolean`):

Include links (<a href>) that point straight to an image file, typical of galleries linking to full-size photos.

## `includeFavicons` (type: `boolean`):

Include the site icons declared in <link rel=icon>.

## `renderJavaScript` (type: `boolean`):

Load each page in a headless Chromium browser and scroll it so images added by JavaScript or lazy loading appear. Slower; use 2048 MB memory or more.

## `waitAfterLoadMs` (type: `integer`):

With browser rendering: extra time to wait after the page loads and scrolls.

## `maxImageSizeMb` (type: `integer`):

Skip image files larger than this.

## `createZip` (type: `boolean`):

Pack all saved images into images.zip in the run's key-value store (split into 300 MB parts for very large runs). The link is in the log, status and OUTPUT record.

## `maxConcurrency` (type: `integer`):

How many pages are processed at once. Requests to each host are spaced out politely regardless.
