## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Google Play Reviews Scraper: $0.08 per 1,000 Reviews

**Download public user reviews for any Android app on Google Play, fast and at very low cost.** Give it app IDs or Google Play URLs, choose sort order, star ratings, language and country, and get one clean record per review: star rating, review text, date, thumbs-up count, the app version the reviewer used, and the developer's reply when there is one. No login, cookies or Google account.

### What can this Google Play reviews scraper do?

- **Scrape reviews for many apps** in one run, from an app ID (`com.spotify.music`) or a Play Store URL.
- **Sort** by newest, most relevant or rating.
- **Filter by stars**, for example only 1- and 2-star reviews to track complaints.
- **Choose language and country** (`en`/`us`, `de`/`de`, `pt-BR`/`br` and so on).
- **See developer replies** and when they were posted.
- **Combine with iOS data:** field names match our App Store Reviews Scraper.

### What data do you get?

| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| `appId`, `appName` | The app |
| `reviewId`, `authorName` | Review ID and the reviewer's public display name |
| `rating`, `text`, `date` | Stars (1-5), review text, date (ISO 8601, UTC) |
| `thumbsUp` | How many people marked the review helpful |
| `appVersion` | Version the reviewer was using |
| `developerReply`, `developerReplyDate` | The developer's answer |
| `language`, `country`, `sort`, `url` | Request settings and a link to the review |

### Who uses it?

- **Product and app teams** reading what Android users say after each release.
- **Customer support teams** finding reviews without a developer reply.
- **Competitive researchers** comparing complaints and praise across rival apps and countries.
- **ASO consultants and agencies** building review reports.
- **Data and AI teams** feeding review text into sentiment and topic analysis or LLM summaries.

### How to use it

1. Click **Try for free** (or **Start**).
2. Add **Apps** as IDs or Play Store URLs.
3. Set **Max reviews per app**, **Sort**, optional **star ratings**, **Language** and **Country**.
4. Run it. 50 reviews take a few seconds.
5. Export to Excel, CSV or JSON, or schedule it daily to track new reviews.

| 100,000 reviews | $8.00 |

Invalid app IDs and apps not available in the chosen country are skipped and not charged.

### Use it via API, Make, Zapier, n8n or an AI agent

**Apify API.** Start a run and get the results back in one HTTP request (replace `YOUR_API_TOKEN` with the token from Apify Console > Settings > Integrations):

```bash
curl -X POST "https://api.apify.com/v2/acts/plotpointtech~google-play-reviews/run-sync-get-dataset-items?token=YOUR_API_TOKEN" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{"apps": ["com.spotify.music", "https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.duolingo"], "maxReviewsPerApp": 200, "sort": "newest", "ratings": ["1", "2"], "language": "en", "country": "us"}'
```

For longer jobs, start the run asynchronously and read the dataset when it finishes. Official `apify-client` libraries exist for Python and JavaScript; the **API** tab on this page has ready-made code.

**No-code automation.** Connect the tool to **Make, Zapier, n8n, Google Sheets, Slack, Airtable** or any webhook with Apify integrations, and use **Schedules** in Apify Console to run it hourly, daily or weekly.

**AI agents (MCP).** Give Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, VS Code or any MCP-compatible agent direct access to this tool through the hosted Apify MCP server. Add this server URL to your client:

```
https://mcp.apify.com?tools=plotpointtech/google-play-reviews
```

The agent can then call the tool with the same input fields shown above and read the results.

### FAQ

**Is it legal to scrape Google Play reviews?**
Reviews are publicly visible on Google Play, and the tool reads the same public review listing the app page loads, without logging in. Reviews include public display names: handle them in line with privacy laws such as GDPR, and follow Google Play's terms when you publish or reuse review content.

**How many reviews can I get per app?**
As many as Google Play's listing makes reachable for that app, language and sort. Very old reviews may not be reachable for some apps.

**Why are the newest reviews a few hours old?**
Google Play shows newly written reviews after a delay.

**Why do I get few reviews in my language?**
Google Play groups reviews by language. Choose the language your users write in; the country mainly affects which app listing is used.

**Can I get iOS reviews too?**
Yes, with our App Store Reviews Scraper. The field names match, so the datasets can be combined.
