## Pricing

from $0.25 / 1,000 archived urls

This Actor is paid per event. You are not charged for the Apify platform usage, but only a fixed price for specific events.
Since this Actor supports Apify Store discounts, the price gets lower the higher subscription plan you have.

## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Wayback Machine URL Extractor — Archived URLs & Snapshots (CDX API)

**Get every URL the Internet Archive's Wayback Machine has ever captured for a domain, subdomain, folder or page**, with capture dates, HTTP status, MIME type and direct snapshot links. Built on the official public **Wayback CDX Server API** — no login, no API key, no browser.

### Use cases

- 🔁 **SEO migrations & 301 redirect maps** — recover old URLs that disappeared from your sitemap and still have backlinks.
- 🕵️ **Find lost pages, PDFs and images** on any site (`mimeTypes: ["application/pdf"]`).
- 📜 **Website history** — every content change of one page (`matchType: exact`, `collapse: digest`).
- 🧭 **Recon & research** — enumerate historic paths, subdomains and endpoints of a domain.
- 🤖 **Training/data pipelines** — `rawSnapshotUrl` gives the original archived bytes without the Wayback toolbar.

### Input example

```json
{ "targets": ["apify.com"], "matchType": "domain", "collapse": "urlkey", "onlyStatus200": true, "maxResultsPerTarget": 1000 }
```

All versions of one page since 2020:

```json
{ "targets": ["https://www.python.org/about/"], "matchType": "exact", "collapse": "digest", "dateFrom": "2020" }
```

| Match type | Returns |
|---|---|
| `domain` | the domain and all subdomains |
| `host` | only that exact host |
| `prefix` | everything under a path, e.g. `example.com/blog/` |
| `exact` | all captures of one URL |

### Output example

```json
{
  "target": "apify.com",
  "url": "https://apify.com/.well-known/agent-skills/index.json",
  "timestamp": "20260913155047", "archivedAt": "2026-09-13T15:50:47Z",
  "statusCode": 200, "mimeType": "application/json", "digest": "MO4JIMUGYVNBCZRQD34VZCN5CUJIB6JB", "length": 4225,
  "snapshotUrl": "https://web.archive.org/web/20260913155047/https://apify.com/.well-known/agent-skills/index.json",
  "rawSnapshotUrl": "https://web.archive.org/web/20260913155047id_/https://apify.com/.well-known/agent-skills/index.json"
}
```

Export to JSON, CSV, Excel or via API. Targets with no captures get a free `NO_CAPTURES` row so you know they were checked.

### Pricing

**$0.50 per 1,000 archived URLs** (cheaper on higher plans). Error/no-capture rows are free. Set a max charge per run and the Actor stops at your budget.

### Good citizenship

The Actor sends one request at a time, uses the CDX resume-key pagination and backs off on rate limits, so it stays friendly to the Internet Archive. Large domains can take a few minutes. Consider [donating to the Internet Archive](https://archive.org/donate) if it's useful to you.
