## Pricing

from $2.40 / 1,000 events

This Actor is paid per event. You are not charged for the Apify platform usage, but only a fixed price for specific events.
Since this Actor supports Apify Store discounts, the price gets lower the higher subscription plan you have.

## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Event Calendar Scraper

Events from any website's calendar as rows: name, ISO start and end with time zone, venue, address, price, sold-out and cancelled flags, ticket link, image, organizer. For event aggregators, local guides, marketing teams, researchers, and AI agents that need every event from venue, museum, theatre, university, city, and library sites that have no API.

- **Price:** $3.00 per 1,000 events. No subscription; you pay only for events saved. Failed inputs are free. Try it on Apify's free plan (up to 20 events per run).
- **Per events page:** 10 to 50 events in our tests of 20 sites (median 29).
- **Export:** JSON, CSV, Excel, Google Sheets, or the API. Works with Make, Zapier, n8n, and AI agents (MCP).

Every run tells you plainly what worked and what did not: no silent empty runs.

### What you can do with it

- **Event aggregator or local guide:** paste the calendars of every venue, museum, and theatre in a city and get one table with the same columns for all of them.
- **Monitor a venue's programme:** schedule it on an events page and match rows by `eventId` between runs to catch new dates, cancellations (`isCancelled`), and sell-outs (`isSoldOut`).
- **Feed a calendar or CRM:** `startDateTime` and `endDateTime` are ISO 8601 with the venue's UTC offset, ready for Google Calendar, Outlook, HubSpot, or a database.
- **Free and cheap things to do:** filter on `isFree`, `priceMin`, and `category` across tourism boards, libraries, and universities.

### Pricing

Pay per result: **$3.00 per 1,000 rows**, plus **$0.001** per run start. No subscription.

| Event | When | Price |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Actor start | Once per run (per GB of memory; the default 256 MB counts as one) | $0.001 |
| Result row | Each row saved to the dataset | $0.003 |

| Example | Rows | Cost |
| --- | --- | --- |
| 10 events | 10 | $0.001 + $0.03 = **$0.031** |
| 100 events | 100 | $0.001 + $0.30 = **$0.301** |
| 1,000 events | 1,000 | $0.001 + $3.00 = **$3.001** |

- Retries after a bot check or a temporary error cost you nothing. You pay only for rows saved.
- An input that fails after all retries saves one error row so you can see what failed and why. Error rows are free.
- On Apify's free plan a run stops at 20 rows. Any paid Apify plan removes this limit.
- Set **Max total charge per run** in the run options. The Actor stops cleanly at that limit and keeps every row saved so far.

### What you can count on

- **Same columns on every row.** Missing values are `null`, so spreadsheets and databases never break.
- **No silent failures.** An input that fails gets an error row with `errorCode` and a plain-language `errorMessage`. The other inputs keep running.
- **A clear run summary.** The run status says how many results were saved, how many inputs failed, and why. The same numbers are saved as the `RUN_SUMMARY` record in the run's key-value store, for automations.
- **Automatic retries.** Bot checks and temporary errors are retried with a fresh request before an input counts as failed.
- **Limits respected.** **Max results** and your spending limit stop the run cleanly.

### Use it from code, automations, and AI agents

**API** (returns the rows when the run finishes):

```bash
curl -X POST "https://api.apify.com/v2/acts/plumblinedata~event-calendar-scraper/run-sync-get-dataset-items?token=YOUR_API_TOKEN" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{"startUrls": ["https://events.stanford.edu/"], "maxEventsPerUrl": 50, "includeEventDetails": false}'
```

**Python** (`pip install apify-client`):

```python
from apify_client import ApifyClient
client = ApifyClient("YOUR_API_TOKEN")
run = client.actor("plumblinedata/event-calendar-scraper").call(run_input={"startUrls": ["https://events.stanford.edu/"], "maxEventsPerUrl": 50, "includeEventDetails": false})
for row in client.dataset(run["defaultDatasetId"]).iterate_items():
    print(row)
```

**JavaScript** (`npm install apify-client`):

```javascript
import { ApifyClient } from 'apify-client';
const client = new ApifyClient({ token: 'YOUR_API_TOKEN' });
const run = await client.actor('plumblinedata/event-calendar-scraper').call({"startUrls": ["https://events.stanford.edu/"], "maxEventsPerUrl": 50, "includeEventDetails": false});
const { items } = await client.dataset(run.defaultDatasetId).listItems();
```

**No-code:** connect the Actor in Make, Zapier, n8n, or Google Sheets through Apify's integrations, or add a webhook to get notified when a run finishes.

**AI agents (MCP):** add `https://mcp.apify.com?tools=plumblinedata/event-calendar-scraper` to Claude, Cursor, or any MCP client. The agent can call this Actor as a tool with the same input as above.

### Limitations

- List pages rarely show price, organizer, or description. Turn on **Include event details** to open each event's own page for them; most event pages are read for free from their structured data.
- Pages drawn entirely by JavaScript, with no structured data, can return no events. Such URLs fail free with a plain error row.
- When a site shows dates without times, rows are all-day (`allDay` true) with a date-only `startDateTime`.
- The time zone comes from the venue's address, city, or country, or the site's own address. When none is known, times are local with `timezone` empty.

### FAQ

**Which sites does it work on?**
Any public events page: music venues, museums, theatres, universities, city and tourism calendars, libraries, in any language. We tested 20 different sites; 18 returned events.

**How do I track changes over time?**
Schedule the Actor and compare rows by `eventId`. It is a stable hash of the site, name, start, and venue, so the same event has the same ID in every run.

**Are placeholder rows like 'Closed' included?**
No. Placeholder and private-event rows are left out, and an event listed twice is kept once.

**Do failed pages cost anything?**
No. A URL that gives no events returns one free error row saying why.

**How do I scrape events from a website?**
Paste the site's events or calendar page into **Event calendar URLs** (`startUrls`). Each event becomes a row with name, start and end time, venue, price, and ticket link.

**How to export a venue's event calendar to CSV or Google Calendar**
Run the venue's page in **Event calendar URLs** (`startUrls`) and download the dataset as CSV. `startDateTime` and `endDateTime` are ISO 8601 with the time zone, ready to import.

**How to collect upcoming events in a city from many websites**
Paste every venue, museum, and tourism calendar into **Event calendar URLs** (`startUrls`) and set **From date** (`dateFrom`) and **To date** (`dateTo`). All sites come back in the same columns.

**What does an error row mean?**
It marks an input that failed after retries. `errorCode` is short (`blocked`, `empty_result`, `not_available`, `http_404`, or `invalid_...` for a bad ID or URL) and `errorMessage` says what to do. Remove error rows with a filter on `type`.

**Can I run it on a schedule?**
Yes. Create a task with your input in Apify Console, then add a schedule (for example every day at 8:00).

**Is it legal to collect this data?**
The Actor reads public pages that anyone can open without logging in. You are responsible for how you use the data, including copyright, personal data rules such as GDPR, and the site's terms. If you are not sure, ask a lawyer.

# Actor input Schema

## `startUrls` (type: `array`):

Events, calendar, programme or what's-on pages, one per line. Any site works: a music venue (`https://www.brooklynbowl.com/brooklyn/events`), a museum (`https://www.sfmoma.org/events/`), a theatre, a university calendar (`https://events.stanford.edu/`), a city or tourism site, or a library. A `.ics` calendar link works too.

## `maxEventsPerUrl` (type: `integer`):

How many events to collect from each URL, in page order. A list page shows about 20 to 50; above that the Actor follows the list's next pages when it has them.

## `includeEventDetails` (type: `boolean`):

Also open each event's own page to fill in description, end time, price, address, coordinates and image when the list does not show them. Slower: about 1 to 3 seconds per event.

## `dateFrom` (type: `string`):

Only keep events on or after this date, for example `2026-12-01`. Events without a date are left out when a date filter is set.

## `dateTo` (type: `string`):

Only keep events that start on or before this date, for example `2026-12-31`.

## `keyword` (type: `string`):

Only keep events whose name, description, category, venue or organizer contains this text (case does not matter). Separate alternatives with commas: `jazz, blues`.

## `maxResults` (type: `integer`):

Stop after this many dataset rows across all URLs. Leave empty for no overall limit.

# Actor output Schema

## `results` (type: `string`):

Dataset of events with name, ISO start and end, venue, address, price and links, one row each.
