# Australia APVMA Product No Portfolio Status Monitor (`plym-actor-factory/au-apvma-product-number-portfolio-status-monitor`) Actor

Watch Australia APVMA Product Numbers (pcode) and emit typed REGISTERED/APPROVED/APPEARED/DROPPED/REGCODE\_CHANGED/EXPIRY\_CHANGED events from data.gov.au PUBCRIS product.csv. Not EPA PPIS/PMRA/ACMA/ABN twin; not a national dump billed as rows.

## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Australia APVMA Product No Portfolio Status Monitor

Watch a **book of Australia APVMA Product Numbers (`pcode`)** and emit typed portfolio events when a product appears, drops, or flips `regcode` (R=Registered / A=Approved) on the official data.gov.au PUBCRIS `product.csv`.

**Not** an EPA PPIS twin. **Not** a Canada PMRA twin. **Not** an ACMA radiocomms twin. **Not** an Australia ABN twin. **Not** a national APVMA dump billed as rows.

### What you get

| Event | Meaning |
|-------|---------|
| `REGISTERED` | Watched Product No moved to published **regcode R** (Registered) |
| `APPROVED` | Watched Product No moved to published **regcode A** (Approved active) |
| `APPEARED` / `DROPPED` | Present ↔ absent on the published product.csv |
| `REGCODE_CHANGED` | Other regcode transitions |
| `EXPIRY_CHANGED` | Optional attribute group — expiry date changed |
| `RUN_STATUS` | Non-billable health row (always on success) |

### Source

- Official APVMA PUBCRIS product.csv (data.gov.au): https://data.gov.au/data/dataset/0de37904-43e0-4814-b21b-5b64fafefe6f/resource/b4bb5394-b60b-4602-8bde-2e206ffc498f/download/product.csv
- Dataset page: https://data.gov.au/data/dataset/apvma-pubcris-dataset-for-registered-agricultural-and-veterinary-chemical-products-and-approved-acti
- No API key. License: **Creative Commons Attribution 3.0 Australia**.
- **Honest lag:** weekly data.gov.au snapshot — not real-time PUBCRIS UI, not label mailers, not internal APVMA workflow events.

### Pricing (PPE)

- Charge event: `apvma-product-status-event-delivered`
- Target: **$0.02 / event** (~$20 / 1k) + **$0.00005** actor start
- `RUN_STATUS`, baselines, duplicates, filtered rows: **$0**

### Default input (Store-safe)

`sourceMode=fixture` (default) succeeds with a non-billable `RUN_STATUS` and **does not** emit fabricated product events unless `emitFixtureDemoEvents=true`.

Production: set `sourceMode=live` and provide your Product No (`pcode`) watchlist.

### Who this is for

- AgChem / veterinary chemical portfolio ops tracking competitor or own APVMA books
- Retail / distribution compliance teams watching products leave the registered set
- Regulatory intelligence analysts who need watchlist events, not a national dump

### Limitations (honest)

- Published product.csv membership + `regcode` R/A + expiry fields only
- **Weekly** snapshot lag vs APVMA PUBCRIS UI (honest; not docket mailers)
- First observation per Product No stores baseline only (no charge)
- Cancelled / suspended products typically **drop** from the published registered set (use `DROPPED`)

### Legal

APVMA PUBCRIS open data via data.gov.au (CC-BY 3.0 AU). Cite APVMA + data.gov.au + retrieval date. Default product fields are public registration identity data.

# Actor input Schema

## `productNumbers` (type: `array`):

Australia APVMA Product Numbers (pcode) to monitor against the official PUBCRIS product.csv (e.g. 30028 or 44001). Exact match after normalize. Invalid entries skipped with no charge. Not a national APVMA dump bill.

## `pcodes` (type: `array`):

Optional alias for productNumbers — same Product No / pcode keys, merged into the watchlist.

## `signalGroups` (type: `array`):

Which change groups to evaluate: directory (APPEARED/DROPPED), status (REGISTERED/APPROVED/REGCODE\_CHANGED), attributes (EXPIRY\_CHANGED). Default: directory+status.

## `maxRunSeconds` (type: `integer`):

Wall-clock budget (product.csv download + parse + watchlist diff).

## `maxEvents` (type: `integer`):

Stop after this many unique change events are delivered (does not include RUN\_STATUS).

## `resumeFromCheckpoint` (type: `boolean`):

If true, resume Product No snapshots and seen event\_uids from the default Key-Value Store.

## `sourceMode` (type: `string`):

fixture = Store/CI health default (no network; RUN\_STATUS only unless emitFixtureDemoEvents=true). live = official data.gov.au APVMA product.csv (no API key; weekly CC-BY lag).

## `emitFixtureDemoEvents` (type: `boolean`):

When sourceMode=fixture, if true push fabricated change events from local fixtures. Default false so Store daily auto-tests never emit fake APVMA events or charge apvma-product-status-event-delivered.

## `asOfHint` (type: `string`):

Optional as\_of label for events / RUN\_STATUS. Defaults to Last-Modified date from the CSV response when present.

## `maxTotalChargeUsd` (type: `number`):

Optional soft budget hint for delivered change events.

## `apvmaProductCsvUrl` (type: `string`):

Optional override for the official data.gov.au APVMA PUBCRIS product.csv download URL.
