## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## CT DCP Real Estate Salesperson Portfolio Status Monitor

Watch named **Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection** Real Estate **Salesperson credential numbers** against the official `data.ct.gov` Socrata dataset [`eqtn-rppv`](https://data.ct.gov/Business/Real-Estate-Salesperson-Status-with-Broker/eqtn-rppv).

**Who this is for:** CT brokerages, title companies, lenders, insurers, and proptech KYB desks that need recurring alerts when a named salesperson credential appears, drops, or changes status (ACTIVE / INACTIVE / SUSPENDED / REVOKED / …) or supervising broker / address / expiration.

Billable events (PPE `ct-dcp-real-estate-salesperson-status-event-delivered` @ $0.02):

- `APPEARED` / `DROPPED`
- `STATUS_CHANGED` (ACTIVE / INACTIVE / SUSPENDED / REVOKED / EXPIRED APPLICATION / PENDING / RETIRED / …)
- Attribute changes (name / location / expires / supervising broker) when `signalGroups` includes `attributes`

Non-billable: `RUN_STATUS` (`FIXTURE_HEALTH`, `MONITOR_IDLE`, `CATCHUP_COMPLETE`, `HEALTH_OK`). Quiet books stay free.

**Not** the mixed CT State Licenses table (`ngch-56tr` — key-honesty reject). **Not** TX TREC / CA DRE status-delta twins. **Not** a multi-state realtor lead scraper. **Not** a statewide dump billed as rows — watchlist `$where` only.

### Quick start

1. Replace the example `credentialNumbers` with your watchlist (digits or `RES.#######`).
2. Set `sourceMode` = **live**.
3. Save as an Actor Task and schedule (e.g. daily).
4. **First run vs later runs:** run 1 baselines named credentials (no change events, no product charge). Run 2+ emit diffs against that checkpoint — keep the same Task.

Default `sourceMode=fixture` is a **free health check** (one non-billable `RUN_STATUS` row), not product data.

### What you get per $0.02 event

One delivered unique change for a named CT DCP RES credential (APPEARED / DROPPED / STATUS_CHANGED / attribute change). Never charged: `RUN_STATUS`, baselines, quiet `MONITOR_IDLE`, fixture SAMPLE rows.

### Example output (SAMPLE)

SAMPLE — illustrative field shape; not a real event:

```json
{
  "license_number": "SAMPLE01",
  "event_type": "STATUS_CHANGED",
  "previous_value": "ACTIVE",
  "new_value": "SUSPENDED",
  "billable": false,
  "sample": true,
  "summary": "SAMPLE (fixture demo data with placeholder entities, not a real event)"
}
```

### Input

- `credentialNumbers` — list of Credential Numbers (aliases: `licenseNumbers`, `licenses`, `credentials`)
- `sourceMode` — `fixture` (free health check) | `live` (official CT DCP)
- `signalGroups` — `directory`, `status`, `attributes`

### Source

- Official Socrata: `https://data.ct.gov/resource/eqtn-rppv.json`
- Durable key: `credentialnumber` (~97,504 unique) / `fullcredentialcode` (`RES.#######`)
- Status enum: ACTIVE / INACTIVE / SUSPENDED / REVOKED / EXPIRED APPLICATION / PENDING / RETIRED / …
- Cadence honesty: data.ct.gov / CT DCP republish (not a real-time board push)

### Pricing

| Event | USD |
|-------|-----|
| `ct-dcp-real-estate-salesperson-status-event-delivered` | $0.02 |
| `apify-actor-start` | $0.00005 |

### Limitations

- Source lag follows CT DCP / data.ct.gov republish cadence; not instant.
- Some credentials appear on multiple rows (multiple supervising brokers); the Actor prefers ACTIVE then the richest broker row.
- Does not cover Real Estate Brokers as a separate credential class (salesperson table only).

# Actor input Schema

## `credentialNumbers` (type: `array`):

Connecticut DCP Real Estate Salesperson credential numbers (field credentialnumber on data.ct.gov/eqtn-rppv) to monitor. Exact match after normalize (digits; leading zeros stripped; also accepts RES.#######). These defaults are public-register examples to replace. Invalid entries skipped with no charge. Not a statewide dump — only IDs on the book are evaluated.

## `licenseNumbers` (type: `array`):

Alias of credentialNumbers.

## `licenses` (type: `array`):

Alias of credentialNumbers.

## `licenseNos` (type: `array`):

Alias of credentialNumbers.

## `credentials` (type: `array`):

Alias of credentialNumbers.

## `signalGroups` (type: `array`):

directory = APPEARED/DROPPED; status = STATUS_CHANGED; attributes = name / location / expires / supervising broker changes.

## `maxRunSeconds` (type: `integer`):

Hard run budget in seconds.

## `maxEvents` (type: `integer`):

Max billable change events to deliver this run.

## `resumeFromCheckpoint` (type: `boolean`):

Resume entity baselines and seen event UIDs from the actor key-value store.

## `sourceMode` (type: `string`):

fixture = free health check (default; one RUN_STATUS row). live = official data.ct.gov / CT DCP Socrata (production).

## `emitFixtureDemoEvents` (type: `boolean`):

When sourceMode=fixture, emit CATCHUP APPEARED/DROPPED/STATUS_CHANGED demo events (SAMPLE-flagged; never charged).

## `asOfHint` (type: `string`):

Optional as-of date hint (YYYY-MM-DD) for live runs.

## `maxTotalChargeUsd` (type: `number`):

Optional Apify platform max total charge USD for this run.

## `socrataUrl` (type: `string`):

Override official CT DCP RES Socrata resource endpoint (default https://data.ct.gov/resource/eqtn-rppv.json).

## `stateKey` (type: `string`):

Optional label that pins this monitor's persistent baseline (named key-value store in YOUR Apify account). Leave empty to derive it automatically from the watchlist (and the saved task, if any), so different watchlists/tasks never share state. Set it (e.g. 'client-acme') if you want to edit the watchlist without re-baselining existing entries. The first live run for a new state key only stores the baseline: no change events, no product charge.
