## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

### Carousell Listings Scraper

Export second-hand and new listings from Carousell search, keyword, and category pages as clean JSON or CSV: title, price, currency, condition, seller, photos, and posting time. Turn on details for full descriptions and seller ratings. Covers Singapore, Malaysia, the Philippines, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Indonesia.

#### Features

- **Six markets** — `sg`, `my`, `ph`, `hk`, `tw`, `id` with local currency (`SGD`, `MYR`, `PHP`, `HKD`, `TWD`, `IDR`)
- **Keywords or URLs** — search terms plus optional search / category / listing links
- **Filters** — sort, price range, condition, marketplace vs Certified
- **Two depths** — fast card-level rows, or full listing details (description, photos, seller rating)
- **Load more** — follows Show more results up to your batch limit and deduplicates by listing ID

#### Input

| Field | Type | Default | Description |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| `keywords` | array | — | Search terms (one search each in `market`) |
| `market` | string | `sg` | `sg` / `my` / `ph` / `hk` / `tw` / `id` |
| `startUrls` | array | — | Keyword, search, category, or listing URLs |
| `sort` | string | `relevance` | `relevance`, `newest`, `priceAscending`, `priceDescending` |
| `priceMin` / `priceMax` | integer | — | Price range in market currency |
| `conditions` | array | — | `brand_new`, `like_new`, `lightly_used`, `well_used`, `heavily_used` |
| `listingType` | string | `marketplace` | `marketplace` (All) or `certified` |
| `scrapeDetails` | boolean | `false` | Visit each listing for richer fields |
| `maxItemsPerSearch` | integer | `100` | Unique listings per search |
| `maxSearchPages` | integer | `5` | Show-more batches per search |
| `maxRequestsPerCrawl` | integer | `100` | Detail page visit cap when details on (`0` = unlimited) |
| `proxyConfiguration` | object | — | Residential proxies recommended for production |

#### Example

```json
{
  "keywords": ["iphone 15", "airpods pro"],
  "market": "sg",
  "sort": "newest",
  "priceMin": 100,
  "conditions": ["like_new", "lightly_used"],
  "scrapeDetails": false,
  "listingType": "marketplace",
  "maxItemsPerSearch": 40,
  "maxSearchPages": 3
}
```

#### Output

Each dataset row includes `listingId`, `url`, `title`, `price`, `currency`, `condition`, `seller.username`, `images`, `timePosted`, `listingType`, `market`, and `scrapedAt`. With details on you also get `description`, more photos, seller `rating` / `reviewCount` / `joinedDuration`, and `category` when present.

#### Tips

- Raise `maxSearchPages` together with `maxItemsPerSearch` for deep keyword searches (about 20–40 cards per batch).
- With `scrapeDetails: true`, set `maxRequestsPerCrawl` to at least your expected listing count (or `0`).
- Paste market-specific URLs when comparing the same keyword across countries; keyword searches use the `market` field.

# Actor input Schema

## `keywords` (type: `array`):

Search terms, as you would type them on Carousell. Each keyword is one search in the chosen market.

## `market` (type: `string`):

Carousell site for keyword searches. Prices come back in that market's currency. Start URLs keep their own site.

## `startUrls` (type: `array`):

Carousell keyword, search, category, or listing URLs. Optional when keywords are given.

## `sort` (type: `string`):

Order of search results. Applied to keyword searches and on top of search URLs.

## `priceMin` (type: `integer`):

Minimum price in the market currency.

## `priceMax` (type: `integer`):

Maximum price in the market currency.

## `conditions` (type: `array`):

Keep only listings in these conditions (brand_new, like_new, lightly_used, well_used, heavily_used). Leave empty for any.

## `listingType` (type: `string`):

Marketplace returns individual seller listings (All tab). Certified returns Carousell Certified product offers.

## `scrapeDetails` (type: `boolean`):

Visit each listing page for description, all photos, and seller rating fields. Off = fast card-level rows from search.

## `maxItemsPerSearch` (type: `integer`):

Unique listings to collect per keyword or search URL (including load-more batches).

## `maxSearchPages` (type: `integer`):

Initial results plus Show more results batches per search. Stops early when no new listings appear.

## `maxRequestsPerCrawl` (type: `integer`):

Cap on listing detail page visits when Scrape listing details is on. 0 = unlimited. Ignored when details are off.

## `proxyConfiguration` (type: `object`):

Optional Apify proxy. Residential proxies are recommended for production.
