## Pricing

from $2.99 / 1,000 results

## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Delaware Corporations Search

Look up entities in the Delaware Division of Corporations public registry by name or file number. Each Dataset row is one matching Delaware entity — file number, registered name, and (by default) the free public Entity Details fields including incorporation date, entity kind/type, residency, and registered agent.

Useful for KYC, due diligence, fund formation, and confirming that a Delaware entity exists under the name or file number you were given.

### Features

- Batch entity-name searches (prefix match; up to 50 hits per name from the registry)
- Exact file-number lookups
- Optional name broadening when an exact name has no match (legal suffix stripped, then distinctive word)
- Public Entity Details: incorporation date, kind, type, residency, registered agent
- De-duplication by file number and a `maxEntities` ceiling
- Optional Apify proxy support

### Input

| Field | Type | Default | Description |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| `entityNames` | array | — | Entity names to search |
| `fileNumbers` | array | — | Delaware file numbers (digits) |
| `queries` | array | — | Alias of `entityNames` |
| `maxEntities` | integer | `50` | Max unique entities (by file number) |
| `exactOnly` | boolean | `false` | Disable broadened name fallback |
| `includeDetails` | boolean | `true` | Fetch public Entity Details per match |
| `requestDelayMs` | integer | `250` | Delay between registry requests |
| `proxyConfiguration` | object | — | Optional proxy settings |

At least one entity name or file number is required.

#### Example

```json
{
  "entityNames": ["Stripe"],
  "fileNumbers": ["4056247"],
  "maxEntities": 5,
  "exactOnly": false,
  "includeDetails": true
}
```

### Output

One Dataset item per unique Delaware entity, including:

- `entity_name`, `file_number`
- `search_query`, `search_type` (`entity_name` | `file_number`)
- `match_mode` (`exact` | `broadened`), `requested_name`
- `state_of_formation` (`DE`), `source`
- Detail fields when requested: `incorporation_date`, `incorporation_date_iso`, `entity_kind`, `entity_type`, `residency`, registered-agent fields, `detail_status`

The free public registry does not include entity status, annual-report year, stock, or tax data (Delaware sells those separately).

#### Example row

```json
{
  "entity_name": "STRIPE 5 DELAWARE L.P.",
  "file_number": "4056247",
  "search_query": "4056247",
  "search_type": "file_number",
  "match_mode": "exact",
  "state_of_formation": "DE",
  "source": "icis.corp.delaware.gov",
  "incorporation_date": "11/4/2005",
  "incorporation_date_iso": "2005-11-04",
  "entity_kind": "Limited Partnership",
  "entity_type": "General",
  "residency": "Domestic",
  "registered_agent_name": "THE CORPORATION TRUST COMPANY",
  "registered_agent_address": "CORPORATION TRUST CENTER 1209 ORANGE ST",
  "registered_agent_city": "WILMINGTON",
  "registered_agent_county": "New Castle",
  "registered_agent_state": "DE",
  "registered_agent_phone": "302-658-7581",
  "detail_status": "ok"
}
```

- Residential proxies recommended for production
- Respect the registry's fair-use expectations; keep concurrency and volume reasonable

# Actor input Schema

## `entityNames` (type: `array`):

Entity name strings to search. The registry matches names that begin with your text (punctuation ignored) and returns at most 50 matches per name — narrow the name if you see exactly 50.

## `fileNumbers` (type: `array`):

Delaware file numbers (digits only, e.g. 4056247). Each is an exact file-number lookup.

## `queries` (type: `array`):

Optional alias treated like Entity names. Prefer entityNames for new runs.

## `maxEntities` (type: `integer`):

Upper limit on unique entities delivered in this run (1–2000), counted by file number after de-duplication.

## `exactOnly` (type: `boolean`):

When off (default), a name with no exact match retries with the legal suffix removed and then the most distinctive word. Turn on for a strict yes/no on the exact name.

## `includeDetails` (type: `boolean`):

When true (default), open each match's public Entity Details view (incorporation date, kind/type, residency, registered agent).

## `requestDelayMs` (type: `integer`):

Pause between registry requests. Residential proxies recommended for production.

## `proxyConfiguration` (type: `object`):

Optional Apify proxy settings. Residential proxies recommended for production.
