## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## UK Land Registry Price Paid — house sales by postcode

Get **every house sale registered in England and Wales** straight from **HM Land Registry's
Price Paid Data**: **sale price, date, full address, property type (detached, semi, terraced,
flat), freehold or leasehold, new build**. Search by **postcode area, district, sector or full
postcode**, with date, price, type and tenure filters.

The data comes from the Land Registry's own **linked-data SPARQL service**, published under the
Open Government Licence. **No scraping, no API key, no proxies.**

**Pay only for the results you get.** Suggested price: **$1.50 per 1,000 sales** (the owner sets
the final price in the Apify Console).

***

### What you can do with it

- **Property investors and agents**: recent sold prices on a street, in a district or across a
  whole postcode area, newest first.
- **Valuation and comparables**: sales of terraced houses under £250,000 in the last six months.
- **Lead generation and local marketing**: who bought new builds this quarter, by district.
- **Market research**: price trends and volumes by postcode, property type and tenure.
- **Monitoring**: schedule weekly and push new sales to a sheet or CRM.

### Input

| Field | What it does |
|---|---|
| **Postcode areas / districts / sectors** *(required)* | `LS` (area), `LS6` or `SW1A` (district), `LS6 3` (sector) or `LS6 3HA`. `LS1` never returns `LS10`. |
| **Sold on or after / before** | A date (`2025-01-01`) or relative (`6 months`). Default: the last year. |
| **Minimum / maximum price** | In pounds. |
| **Property types** | Detached, semi-detached, terraced, flat/maisonette, other. |
| **Tenure** | Any, freehold or leasehold. |
| **New builds** | Any, new builds only, or existing homes only. |
| **Transaction category** | Any, standard, or "additional" (repossessions, buy-to-let, company purchases). |
| **Maximum results** | A hard cap. You are never charged for more than this. |

#### Example input

Terraced houses sold in Leeds LS6 for £100,000-£250,000 in the last six months:

```json
{
  "postcodePrefixes": ["LS6"],
  "propertyTypes": ["terraced"],
  "minPrice": 100000,
  "maxPrice": 250000,
  "dateFrom": "6 months",
  "maxItems": 300
}
```

### Output

One row per sale, newest first.

```json
{
  "transactionId": "5CD70F5D-F2A7-FB1F-E063-4704A8C08825",
  "price": 182500,
  "date": "2026-08-28",
  "postcode": "LS1 2RL",
  "postcodeDistrict": "LS1",
  "saon": "Flat 9",
  "paon": "30",
  "street": "York Place",
  "town": "Leeds",
  "district": "Leeds",
  "county": "West Yorkshire",
  "fullAddress": "Flat 9, 30 York Place, Leeds, West Yorkshire, LS1 2RL",
  "propertyType": "flat-maisonette",
  "newBuild": false,
  "tenure": "leasehold",
  "category": "standard",
  "url": "http://landregistry.data.gov.uk/data/ppi/transaction/5CD70F5D-F2A7-FB1F-E063-4704A8C08825/current"
}
```

Address text is tidied from the register's capitals (`YORK PLACE` becomes `York Place`).

### Pricing (pay per event)

| Event | Suggested price |
|---|---|
| Sale returned | **$0.0015** ($1.50 per 1,000) |
| Actor start | Apify's minimum ($0.00005 per run) |

You pay only for rows delivered. The **Maximum results** cap and your spending limit are
respected exactly.

### Good to know

- Sales appear on the register a few weeks after completion.
- The Land Registry's service takes about 20-30 seconds per page of 1,000 sales, so a postcode
  area with a long date range can take several minutes. Narrow the dates or use a district for
  faster runs.
- Price Paid Data covers **England and Wales only**, and does not include sales that are not
  registered (for example some commercial and inherited property).
- Contains HM Land Registry data (c) Crown copyright and database right, licensed under the
  [Open Government Licence v3.0](https://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/doc/open-government-licence/version/3/).
  The data contains addresses and may include personal data; use it in line with data-protection
  law. This actor is independent and not endorsed by HM Land Registry.
