## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## TikTok Creative Intelligence

Turn your TikTok performance numbers into **decisions**: which openings work, which formats lag, and a 14-day test plan with ready-to-use creative briefs.

Feed it a **TikTok Studio export / any CSV or JSON** of your video performance, or connect the **official TikTok Display API** with a token authorised by the account owner. It does not scrape, does not use the academic-only Research API, and never fetches videos of accounts that did not authorise you.

### Who is it for

TikTok creators, social media managers and small agencies who export their video performance and want hook, format and test-plan guidance from their own history.

### Quick start

1. Press **Start** with the pre-ticked **Demo mode**: you get a full report on a *fabricated* account. Every row is labelled `SYNTHETIC DEMO` and **demo runs are never charged**.
2. For your own account, download your video performance table from **TikTok Studio > Analytics** (use the download/export option; menu names change between app versions) and paste the CSV text into **Performance export (CSV text)**.
3. Press **Start** again. Provided data always wins over Demo mode.
4. Open **Output** for the structured rows, and the **Key-value store** for `REPORT_WEEKLY_MD` and `findings.csv`.

**Example input**

```json
{
  "dataCsv": "Video ID,Video link,Post time,Video title,Duration,Total views,Total likes,Total comments,Total shares\n...",
  "accountName": "@mybrand",
  "timezoneOffsetMinutes": 180
}
```

**Example output row** (SAMPLE - synthetic, illustrative values; not from a real account)

```json
{
  "recordType": "account_summary",
  "platform": "tiktok",
  "account": "@mybrand",
  "postsAnalysed": 52, "postsScored": 49,
  "billing": { "charged": true, "event": "account-analyzed" },
  "synthetic": false
}
```

### Pricing

**$0.25 per account analysed**, once per account, only when at least **6 videos could be scored**. Too little data = delivered but **not billed** (`billing.charged: false`). The billed summary is written last. Demo runs are free.

Pay-per-event. Platform usage (compute, storage) is included in the price - there is no separate Apify usage bill for you. A negligible Actor-start event ($0.00005 per GB of memory, minimum one) also applies. You can cap spending with Apify's "Maximum charged results / cost per run" setting; the Actor stops cleanly at your limit.

### What is verified, and what is not

- CSV/JSON export analysis is covered by automated tests using synthetic exports, including English, **Turkish** (; delimiter, Video başlığı, 29.10.2026 14:30, 12.345 counts), Spanish and Portuguese headers. Real export files from other languages were not available, so an unusual header may need one line from you to be supported.
- **Not verified with live credentials:** the TikTok Display API mode (scope `video.list`, your own videos only) has only been tested against synthetic API-shaped responses, never with a real OAuth token. Use the export path for guaranteed behaviour. The academic-only Research API is deliberately not used.

### Limitations

- Works on data you own or are authorised to use. It never scrapes TikTok.
- The Display API gives no retention, traffic-source or demographic data; none is invented.
- At least 6 posts older than 3 days are needed for baselines.
- Trend and sound discovery are out of scope (they need data we are not licensed to collect).

Built by **PRIVATEX**. Questions or a data-format that does not parse? Open an issue on the Actor page and include the (anonymised) column headers or first lines.

### What you get

- **Top and weak videos** versus your own median (ratio, comparison size, link).
- **Hook analysis** – opening lines classified into question, number list, how-to, warning, first-person story, call-out, curiosity gap, series; distribution plus performance per style.
- **Format groups** – duration bands, caption length, hashtag count, numbers, publish weekday/hour, each with sample size and confidence.
- **Creative briefs and test plan** – week 1 / week 2 experiments built from your best topics, A/B hook variants, success rule (beat your median within 72h), evidence links.
- **Weekly report** and **account comparison** from data you supply.
- Deterministic algorithms, no AI API, no per-item AI cost.

### Data sources and official API scope

- **Display API** (`video.list` scope) returns the authorising user's own videos with `view_count, like_count, comment_count, share_count, duration, create_time, title/description`. Production use requires a TikTok developer app approved for that scope.
- **Research API**: academic/non-commercial only – intentionally not used.

### Input

| Field | Meaning |
| --- | --- |
| `dataCsv` / `dataUrl` / `dataRows` | Performance export (columns matched flexibly). |
| `accessToken` | Optional Display API user token (secret). |
| `additionalAccounts` | Other accounts you have data for. |
| `demoMode` | Fabricated account, labelled SYNTHETIC. |

### API example

```bash
curl -X POST "https://api.apify.com/v2/acts/YOUR_USER~tiktok-creative-intelligence/run-sync-get-dataset-items?token=$APIFY_TOKEN" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" -d '{"dataUrl":"https://example.com/tiktok-studio.csv"}'
```

# Actor input Schema

## `demoMode` (type: `boolean`):

Pre-ticked so the Actor works on first click with FABRICATED example data (every output row is labelled SYNTHETIC DEMO and is never charged). It is ignored as soon as you provide your own data or token, so you can leave it ticked.

## `dataCsv` (type: `string`):

Paste the CSV from TikTok Studio analytics (or any table) with columns like Video title, Post time, Total views, Total likes, Total comments, Total shares, Duration. Column names are matched flexibly.

## `dataUrl` (type: `string`):

URL of a CSV or JSON file with your post performance (e.g. from your own storage).

## `dataRows` (type: `array`):

Alternative to CSV: array of row objects with the same columns.

## `accessToken` (type: `string`):

Optional. A user access token with the video.list scope, obtained through TikTok Login Kit by the account owner. Returns only that user's own videos. Used only for requests to open.tiktokapis.com, stored encrypted, never written to output. NOT VERIFIED WITH LIVE CREDENTIALS: this mode has only been tested with synthetic API-shaped responses, never with a real OAuth token. The export (CSV/JSON) path is the tested one.

## `accountName` (type: `string`):

Name shown in the report.

## `additionalAccounts` (type: `array`):

Each item: {"name": "Brand B", "csv": "<csv text>"} or {"name": "...", "url": "\<csv/json url>"}. Analysed and compared using only the data you give here.

## `maxPosts` (type: `integer`):

Most recent posts fetched through the official API.

## `timezoneOffsetMinutes` (type: `integer`):

For weekday and hour patterns. UTC+3 = 180.

## `asOf` (type: `string`):

Reference time. Empty = now. Set when analysing an older export.

## `minAgeDays` (type: `integer`):

Fresh posts are still collecting views and are not scored. Platform insight data can lag up to 48h.
