## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Domain Intel: Tech Stack, Email Provider & Domain Age

Give it a list of company domains and get, for each one:

- **Tech stack** detected on the homepage: CMS and site builders (WordPress, Webflow, Wix, Shopify, VTEX, Nuvemshop...), frameworks (Next.js, Nuxt...), hosting and CDN (Cloudflare, Vercel, Netlify, CloudFront...), analytics, marketing automation (HubSpot, RD Station, Klaviyo...), live chat, payments (Stripe, Mercado Pago, PayPal...) and cookie consent.
- **Email provider** from MX records (Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, Zoho, Proofpoint, Locaweb...), plus whether **SPF** and **DMARC** are set and the DMARC policy.
- **Domain age**: registration and expiry dates and the registrar, from RDAP.
- **Website basics**: final URL after redirects, title, description, language and social profile links.

No personal data is collected: only public DNS, RDAP and the public homepage.

### Use cases

- Qualify B2B leads by technology ("all Shopify stores using Klaviyo").
- Find companies on Google Workspace vs Microsoft 365 before an email or IT pitch.
- Check email-security posture (SPF/DMARC) across a list of prospects.
- Filter out very young domains in fraud or partner checks.
- Give AI agents a cheap, structured "what is this company's website built on?" lookup.

### Input

```json
{ "domains": ["shopify.com", "stripe.com", "nubank.com.br"] }
```

URLs are accepted too (`https://www.example.com/page` becomes `example.com`). Duplicates and invalid entries are skipped. Up to 10,000 domains per run.

### Output (one item per domain)

```json
{
  "domain": "shopify.com",
  "website": { "reachable": true, "finalUrl": "https://www.shopify.com/", "status": 200, "title": "Shopify", "language": "en" },
  "technologies": [{ "name": "Shopify", "category": "E-commerce" }, { "name": "Cloudflare", "category": "CDN" }],
  "email": { "provider": "Google Workspace", "mx": ["aspmx.l.google.com"], "spf": true, "dmarc": true, "dmarcPolicy": "reject" },
  "registration": { "createdAt": "2005-03-11T05:18:03Z", "expiresAt": "2027-03-11T05:18:03Z", "ageYears": 21.5, "registrar": "MarkMonitor Inc." },
  "errors": []
}
```

`errors` lists any part that could not be checked (for example a site that times out); the other parts are still returned.

### Pricing

Pay per event: you are charged only for domains where something was found. Domains that do not exist or cannot be reached at all are returned free of charge.

### Limits

- Detection reads the first 128 KB of the homepage, so tools loaded only at the very bottom of large pages may be missed.
- Sites that block bots may show as unreachable; email and registration data are still returned.

# API

You can run this Actor programmatically using our API. Below are code examples in JavaScript, Python, and CLI, as well as the OpenAPI specification and MCP server setup.

## JavaScript example

```javascript
import { ApifyClient } from 'apify-client';
// Initialize the ApifyClient with your Apify API token
// Replace the '<YOUR_API_TOKEN>' with your token
const client = new ApifyClient({
    token: '<YOUR_API_TOKEN>',
});
// Prepare Actor input
const input = {
    "domains": [
        "shopify.com",
        "stripe.com",
        "nubank.com.br"
    ]
};
// Run the Actor and wait for it to finish
const run = await client.actor("prized_rainstorm/domain-intel").call(input);
// Fetch and print Actor results from the run's dataset (if any)
console.log('Results from dataset');
console.log(`💾 Check your data here: https://console.apify.com/storage/datasets/${run.defaultDatasetId}`);
const { items } = await client.dataset(run.defaultDatasetId).listItems();
items.forEach((item) => {
    console.dir(item);
});
