## Changelog

### 1.3.3 (2026-09-30)

- **Search results are complete again.** apartments.com redesigned its search result
  cards, and search runs started returning listings with the wrong name (city appended),
  no bedroom/price breakdown and no amenities. All card fields are read from the new
  layout again.
- **New search fields:** `bedsMin` / `bedsMax`, and per-layout `bedrooms`, `bathrooms`
  and `sqft` inside `rentRollup` (houses and private listings show baths and square
  feet right on the card), plus `propertyType`, `specialty` (e.g. student,
  incomeRestriction), `leaseTerm`, `isTotalMonthlyPrice` and `isForRentByOwner`.
- `photoCount` and `isFeaturedUnit` are no longer shown on search cards by the site, so
  they are only present where the old card layout is still served.

### 1.3.2 (2026-09-03)

- **Runs return data again.** The site changed how it screens visitors and started
  turning the actor away before the first page: runs ended with "could not get past the
  bot protection" and zero results. Access has been rebuilt and now goes through in about
  five seconds.
- **Runs need 2 GB of memory** (now the default in the console). On 1 GB the platform
  allots a quarter of a CPU core and the run cannot get past the site's screening — if
  you have a saved task or schedule pinned to 1 GB, raise it to 2 GB or press "Reset to
  default" on the input.

### 1.3.1 (2026-08-25)

- **Several search URLs now all return data.** With more than one search URL and a Max
  Items limit, one URL used to take the whole limit and the rest returned nothing; the
  limit is now shared evenly between them, so every location you list is represented.
- **Runs are faster and steadier.** A share of runs used to spend an extra minute before
  the first page arrived; that wait is gone.

### 1.3 (2026-08-01)

- **Runs start returning data in seconds.** Getting access to the site used to take
  minutes of waiting before the first page arrived; now it takes about five seconds.
- **Far fewer failed runs.** Runs that used to give up with "could not get past the bot
  protection" now get through on the first try in most cases.
- Access is renewed automatically during long runs, so large searches no longer stall
  in the middle.

### 1.2 (2026-07-26)

- **Every site filter works again.** Search now takes your apartments.com URL exactly as
  it is, so price, bedroom, pet, amenity and any other filter you set on the site is
  applied. Previously only bedrooms, max price and `cheap` carried over.
- **Search results are much richer**: full address split into street/city/state/ZIP,
  per-bedroom price rollup, phone, listed amenities, management company, photo and photo
  count, plus specials / video / 3D-tour flags.
- **Details returns substantially more data:**
  - itemised **fees with explanations** — one-time, monthly, pet, parking, situational and
    add-on charges, each with its amount and the property's own note;
  - **individual available apartments** with unit numbers, rent, square footage, total
    monthly price, lease terms and move-in dates, alongside the floor-plan models;
  - **schools** with GreatSchools ratings, grades and enrolment, and colleges nearby;
  - **transportation and points of interest** with travel mode, time and distance;
  - **average rents by bedroom** for the neighbourhood and the city;
  - property **highlights**, management company, Matterport 3D tour link and video links.
- Walk, Transit, Bike, Drive and Sound scores now come with the page and no longer cost an
  extra request, so the **Neighborhood scores** switch was removed.
- Review texts, ratings and dates are returned again.
- Pagination now reaches 28 pages per search URL (was 18).
- Listing URLs that no longer exist on the site now fail immediately with a clear
  "page not found" message, instead of retrying the whole run for minutes.
- Listing URLs without the ID part (e.g. `/centro-callan-san-leandro-ca/`) now work:
  the site answers those with a city search page, and the actor picks the right listing
  out of it instead of failing.
- Run log messages are all in English.

### 1.1 (2026-07-25)

- **Fixed: Search and Details returned no data.** Both actions now work again, and
  they are much faster — a search page takes about 2 seconds instead of timing out.
- Search output is richer: each result now carries name, price range, city, state and
  coordinates, so many use cases no longer need a Details run at all.
- Bedroom count, max price and `cheap` filters carry over from your search URL; any
  other site filter is skipped and named in the run log.
- New **Neighborhood scores** switch: Walk/Transit/Bike scores cost one extra request
  per listing and can be turned off to run Details cheaper.
- Details is far cheaper per listing: removed the retry storm that used to spend up to
  50 requests per run before returning anything.
- Fixed a crash when the proxy returned a truncated response body mid-run.
- Review texts, Drive Score and Sound Score are no longer returned.

### 1.0 (2026-07-07)

- Initial release of the Apartments.com Scraper.
- Three chainable actions: Search listings (listing URLs), Scrape property details (90+ fields), and Extract emails from property websites.
- Search action accepts apartments.com search URLs with any site filters and paginates up to 18 pages per URL.
- Details action accepts listing URLs or an Apify Dataset ID from a Search run to output full structured property data.
- Emails action extracts and validates contact emails from property website URLs or a Dataset ID from a Details run.
- Rich output per listing: name, address, coordinates, min/max rent, phone, property website, and languages spoken.
- Neighborhood Walk, Transit, Bike, Drive, and Sound scores.
- Aggregate rating plus individual renter reviews, floor plan models, available units/rentals, fees, amenities, and nearby schools.
- Media (photo URLs and photo/video/virtual-tour counts), transportation, points of interest, breadcrumb, FAQ, and office hours.
- Dataset schema with Output tab views: Search Results, Overview, Contacts, Neighborhood Scores, and Extracted Emails.
- Configurable concurrency and per-run item limits; Apify Residential proxy support.
