## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Website Logo & Favicon Extractor - Brand Assets from Any Domain

Get the **logo, favicon, Apple touch icon, social image, site name and brand color** of hundreds of websites in one run, from just their domain. Perfect to enrich a list of companies, a CRM or a directory with real logos.

- **Smart logo detection.** The logo is taken from the most reliable source available: the schema.org Organization logo declared by the site, then a "logo" image named after the brand (header first, colored versions before white ones; customer and partner logos are ignored), then the biggest Apple touch icon, web app manifest icon or favicon. A schema.org "logo" that is really a social sharing picture is only used when nothing better exists. `logoSource` tells you which one.
- **All the icons.** Every declared icon with its size and type, plus `/favicon.ico` when nothing is declared, and the manifest icons.
- **Brand data.** Site name, `theme-color` and background color, and the Open Graph share image.
- **Fast and cheap.** One to three requests per site (home page, manifest, /favicon.ico), no browser: **$1 per 1,000 sites**. Sites where nothing is found are not charged.

### What can I use it for?

- **CRM and lead enrichment:** add company logos to accounts in HubSpot, Salesforce or Airtable.
- **Directories, marketplaces and comparison sites:** show a logo for every listed company or tool.
- **Dashboards and reports:** display client or competitor logos automatically.
- **Design research:** collect the brand colors and icons of a market.

### Input

```json
{ "urls": ["apify.com", "shopify.com", "wikipedia.org"] }
```

### Output

One row per website. Example from a real run (icons shortened):

```json
{
    "url": "https://apify.com/",
    "finalUrl": "https://apify.com/",
    "status": 200,
    "siteName": "Apify",
    "logoUrl": "https://apify.com/img/apify-logo/apify-symbol-200x200.svg",
    "logoSource": "schema.org",
    "faviconUrl": "https://apify.com/icon0.svg?icon0.0z-sy_vfu_0k9.svg?dpl=60c83bf45e",
    "ogImageUrl": "https://apify.com/og-image?title=Thousands+of+tools%0Afor+your+AI",
    "themeColor": "#020202",
    "backgroundColor": null,
    "icons": [
        { "url": "https://apify.com/favicon.ico?favicon.2653ilt32bing.ico?dpl=60c83bf45e", "rel": "icon", "sizes": "48x48", "type": "image/x-icon" },
        { "url": "https://apify.com/icon0.svg?icon0.0z-sy_vfu_0k9.svg?dpl=60c83bf45e", "rel": "icon", "sizes": "any", "type": "image/svg+xml" }
    ],
    "logoCandidates": [
        "https://apify.com/img/apify-logo/apify-symbol-200x200.svg",
        "https://apify.com/img/apify-logo/wordmark-white.svg"
    ],
    "error": null
}
```

| `logoSource` | Meaning |
|---|---|
| `schema.org` | Logo declared by the site for search engines: the most reliable |
| `img` | A "logo" image whose file name, alt text or class names the brand |
| `apple-touch-icon` / `manifest` | Square app icon: always clean, usually 180-512 px |
| `favicon` | Only the browser icon was found |

### Pricing

**$0.001 per website with at least one asset found ($1 per 1,000 sites)** plus Apify's small run-start fee. No subscription, lower prices on higher Apify plans. Invalid inputs, unreachable sites and sites without any logo or icon are free.

### Good to know

- Logos drawn directly in the page code (inline SVG) cannot be returned as a file: the Actor then falls back to the app icon or favicon.
- Social media profile links are not collected: on personal websites they would be personal data.
- Some sites block automated requests (HTTP 403): they are reported and not charged.

### Use it from AI agents (MCP)

Add `website-logo-extractor` to the [Apify MCP server](https://mcp.apify.com) in your MCP client (Claude, Cursor, VS Code...).

### Integrations

Apify API, schedules, webhooks, Make, Zapier, n8n. Export as JSON, CSV, Excel or HTML.
