## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## India Tech Jobs Scraper – Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby & SmartRecruiters

Scrape **India tech jobs straight from company career pages**, not from job boards. One run scans **57 employers that hire in India** (Stripe, Databricks, Okta, MongoDB, Zscaler, Swiggy, CRED, Meesho, Freshworks, Groww, Sarvam AI, InMobi, HighRadius and more) and returns clean, city-tagged JSON, CSV or Excel.

**Test on 27 Oct 2026: 1,416 India-located jobs from the 57 built-in employers in about a minute** (55 of the 57 had at least one India role that day; counts change daily).

You can also add **any company** that uses Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby or SmartRecruiters. Paste its careers URL and you get its jobs, in India or worldwide.

### Why use this instead of a Naukri or LinkedIn scraper?

- **Direct from the employer's own job board.** No reposts or recruiter spam. You get what the employer's board lists at run time. Employers sometimes leave filled roles up, so a listing is not a guarantee the role is still open.
- **Official public job-board APIs.** Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby and SmartRecruiters publish these feeds so jobs can be embedded on any site. No login, no cookies, no proxies, no CAPTCHAs, so runs don't depend on page layouts.
- **India-aware.** Every job is tagged `isIndia` and `indiaCity` (Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Gurugram, Pune, Mumbai, Chennai, Noida, Delhi and 20 more), and Bangalore/Bengaluru and Gurgaon/Gurugram are normalised.
- **Cheap.** $1.50 per 1,000 jobs. A full India scan (about 1,400 jobs) costs about $2.10 plus platform usage.

### Who uses it

- **Recruiters and staffing agencies**: see which product companies are hiring in Bengaluru or Hyderabad this week, and for what roles.
- **Job seekers and job-alert bots**: schedule it daily with `postedWithinDays: 1` and get only new roles.
- **Sales teams (hiring-intent signals)**: a company opening 20 data-engineering roles in Pune is a buyer for your dev tools, recruiting or office services.
- **Researchers and analysts**: track how GCCs (global capability centres) and Indian startups are hiring over time.
- **AI agents**: works as a tool through Apify MCP. Ask "which US SaaS companies are hiring backend engineers in Hyderabad?"

### Input

| Field | What it does |
|---|---|
| `useIndiaDirectory` | Scan the built-in directory of 57 India-hiring employers (default on). |
| `companies` | Extra companies: `https://jobs.lever.co/meesho`, `https://boards.greenhouse.io/stripe`, `jobs.ashbyhq.com/sarvam`, `lever:cred`, or a bare slug. |
| `indiaOnly` | Keep only jobs in India (default on). Turn off for every location. |
| `includeGlobalRemote` | Also keep remote jobs with no country named. |
| `cities` | e.g. `["Bengaluru","Bangalore","Hyderabad"]` |
| `keywords` / `excludeKeywords` | Matched against title, department and team, e.g. `engineer`, `data`, `product`, or exclude `intern`. |
| `remoteOnly` | Only remote roles. |
| `postedWithinDays` | Only jobs posted or updated in the last N days. |
| `includeDescription` | Adds the full plain-text job description. |
| `maxItems` | Stop after N jobs. You only pay for jobs returned. |

Example: all data and ML roles in Bengaluru posted this week

```json
{"useIndiaDirectory": true, "cities": ["Bengaluru", "Bangalore"], "keywords": ["data", "machine learning", "ml "], "postedWithinDays": 7}
```

### Pricing

**$1.50 per 1,000 jobs returned** ($0.0015 per job) plus a few cents of Apify platform usage. Boards with no matching jobs cost nothing. Set `maxItems` or a spending limit to cap the cost.

### Employers in the built-in directory (57)

100ms, Agoda, Airbnb, Amplitude, Anthropic, Atlan, Cockroach Labs, Coinbase, Coursera, CRED, Databricks, Datadog, Druva, Duolingo, Elastic, Everpure, FamPay, Fi Money, Figma, Fivetran, Freshworks, GitLab, Glance, Groww, Hevo Data, HighRadius, InMobi, Meesho, Mindtickle, Mixpanel, MongoDB, New Relic, Nium, Notion, Observe.AI, Okta, OpenAI, Pocket FM, Rubrik, Samsara, Sarvam AI, Scale AI, Sigmoid, Slice, Smartsheet, Snowflake, Stripe, Sumo Logic, Swiggy, Thoughtworks, Toast, Twilio, Veeva Systems, Vercel, Zeta, Zeta Global, Zscaler.

Greenhouse: 38 boards, Lever: 11, Ashby: 6, SmartRecruiters: 2 (Freshworks, Swiggy). Some employers may have no India openings on a given day.

Missing a company? Add its careers URL to `companies`. If it runs on Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby or SmartRecruiters, it works.

### FAQ

**Is this legal?** It uses the public job-board APIs these ATS vendors provide for publishing jobs, and reads only public job postings. You are responsible for how you use the data and for complying with the relevant terms and laws.
It collects no personal data and uses no logins.

**How fresh is the data?** Live. Each run reads the boards at run time. Schedule it (daily or hourly) for alerts.

**Does it cover Naukri, LinkedIn or Indeed?** No. It covers employer career pages only, which are the original source those sites copy from.

**Can I use it outside India?** Yes. Set `indiaOnly: false` and add any companies.
