## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## PDUFA Date & FDA Catalyst Calendar (from SEC filings)

Get every upcoming **PDUFA target action date** that US-listed biotech and pharma companies have disclosed to the SEC, with the **exact sentence from the filing** and a link to it.

Most catalyst calendars are re-typed by hand and you can't check them. This Actor reads the primary source, SEC EDGAR 8-K filings and press-release exhibits, so every row can be audited in one click.

### What you get (one row per drug/date)

| field | example |
|---|---|
| ticker | SMMT |
| company | Summit Therapeutics Inc. |
| pdufaDate | 2026-11-14 (ISO, when the filing gives an exact date) |
| pdufaDateText | "November 14, 2026" or "first half of 2027" |
| dateIsExact | true / false |
| evidenceQuote | "...the goal Prescription Drug User Fee Act (PDUFA) date is November 14, 2026." |
| filedAt | filing date |
| secUrl | link to the SEC document |

### Use cases

- Biotech traders and analysts building a catalyst watchlist
- Daily schedule plus webhook gives you alerts when a new PDUFA date or an extension is filed
- AI agents: call it as an MCP tool ("what PDUFA dates are coming up for VRTX?")
- Pharma BD and competitive intelligence teams

### Input

- `lookbackDays` (default 120): how far back to scan filings
- `upcomingOnly` (default true)
- `tickers`: an optional filter
- `forms`: `8-K` by default; add `10-Q` for wider coverage

### Pricing

Pay per event: you pay only for PDUFA events returned. Empty runs cost almost nothing.

### Notes

- Data comes from public SEC EDGAR full-text search (sec.gov). We are not affiliated with the SEC or FDA.
- Rows that mention a partner's drug (e.g. royalty holders) are kept, because the quote shows the context.
- This is informational data, not investment advice.
