## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## SAM.gov Contract Opportunities Scraper – Federal RFPs, Bids & Contracting Officer Emails

Every day, US federal agencies post **1,000+ new contract notices** on SAM.gov. Most small contractors only see the few that land in their inbox. The rest go to whoever checked SAM.gov first.

This Actor pulls those notices for you as clean JSON, CSV or Excel: **solicitations, RFPs, RFQs, sources sought, presolicitations and award notices**, with the **contracting officer's email**, NAICS code, set-aside, place of performance and **days left to respond**.

**Test run on 28 Oct 2026:** one day of notices returned **1,000 opportunities in under a minute**. 997 had a contact email, 963 had NAICS codes and 390 had a small-business set-aside (WOSB, SDVOSB, 8(a), HUBZone and others).

No SAM.gov account, no API key, no cookies, no proxies.

### What one row looks like

  "department": "HOMELAND SECURITY, DEPARTMENT OF",
  "subTier": "OFFICE OF PROCUREMENT OPERATIONS",

}
```
### Who uses it
- **Small federal contractors and 8(a), WOSB, SDVOSB and HUBZone firms**: get every new bid in your NAICS codes each morning, before the response window shrinks.
- **GovCon consultants and proposal writers**: build a pipeline of bids to pitch to your clients.
- **BD and capture teams**: track sources sought and presolicitations early, while the requirement is still being shaped.
- **Sales teams selling to contractors**: award notices tell you who just won money.
- **AI agents**: works as a tool through Apify MCP. Ask "find open cybersecurity solicitations with a WOSB set-aside closing in more than 10 days".
### Input
| Field | What it does |
|---|---|
| `keywords` | Each keyword runs its own SAM.gov search (e.g. `cybersecurity`, `janitorial`, `"software development"`). Empty = newest notices. |
| `naicsCodes` | e.g. `541512`, `561720`, `236220` |
| `noticeTypes` | Solicitation, Combined Synopsis/Solicitation, Presolicitation, Sources Sought, Special Notice, Award, J\&A, and more |
| `setAside` | Total Small Business, 8(a), HUBZone, SDVOSB, WOSB, EDWOSB, VOSB and more |
| `postedWithinDays` | Default 7. Use `1` on a daily schedule to get only new notices. |
| `excludePastDeadline` | Default on: drops notices you can no longer respond to |
| `minDaysUntilDeadline` | Skip bids closing too soon to write a proposal |
| `placeOfPerformanceStates` | e.g. `VA`, `TX` |
| `includeDetails` | Default on: NAICS, set-aside, contacts and full text from each notice's detail record |
| `maxItems` | Hard cap on rows (and on cost) |
### Daily bid alert in 2 minutes
1. Set your keywords or NAICS codes and `postedWithinDays: 1`.
2. Add a **Schedule** (daily, 8 AM).
3. Connect the dataset to **Google Sheets, Slack, email or a webhook** with Apify integrations.
### Pricing
**$2.50 per 1,000 opportunities** (pay per result) plus a small platform usage fee. A full day of new federal notices (about 1,000) costs about $2.50. You set `maxItems`, so you never pay for more rows than you asked for.
### FAQ
**Is this official data?** Yes. It reads the same public search that powers sam.gov. We are not affiliated with SAM.gov or GSA.
**Do I need a SAM.gov API key?** No.
**Why do some rows have no NAICS or set-aside?** The agency left them blank on the notice. Special notices and award notices often skip them.
**Can I get attachments?** The `url` opens the notice, where attachments are listed. Notice text is included in `descriptionText`.
e.g. 541512 (computer systems design), 561720 (janitorial), 236220 (commercial construction).
## `noticeTypes` (type: `array`):
Leave empty for all.
## `setAside` (type: `string`):
