## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## EPA Registered Disinfectant Lists (List N, K, P, Q, H, S...)

Search, export and monitor EPA's **Selected EPA-Registered Disinfectants** lists in one dataset. That's about 3,600 list entries across 12 lists:

| List | Pathogen / use |
|---|---|
| B | Mycobacterium tuberculosis (TB) |
| G | Norovirus (feline calicivirus) |
| H | MRSA and/or VRE |
| J | Medical waste treatment |
| K | Clostridioides difficile (C. diff) spores |
| L | Ebola virus |
| M | Avian influenza |
| N | SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19) |
| O | Rabbit hemorrhagic disease virus (RHDV2) |
| P | Candida auris |
| Q | Emerging viral pathogens (EVPs) |
| S | Bloodborne pathogens (HIV, Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C) |

Each entry includes the EPA registration number, product name, registrant company, active ingredients, contact (wet) time, formulation, surface types, use sites, pathogens and a direct link to the product's EPA label (PPLS).

Sources: the official list pages on [epa.gov](https://www.epa.gov/pesticide-registration/selected-epa-registered-disinfectants) and the EPA List N tool (public US government data). No login or proxy needed. List A (sterilants) is published only as a PDF and is not included.

### Why use it

- **Infection prevention and EVS teams:** find products on List K (C. diff) or List P (Candida auris) with the shortest contact time for your surfaces.
- **Janitorial and medical distributors, ecommerce sellers:** verify every disinfectant SKU's EPA Reg. No. and the claims it can support before listing it.
- **Per-product view:** merge all lists a registration number appears on (`output_mode: per_product`), with contact times per list.
- **Bulk Reg. No. lookup:** distributor numbers like `1677-129-12345` are matched to the primary registration. Numbers that aren't found come back as `onList: false`.
- **Monitoring:** schedule weekly with monitor mode to catch products added to or removed from any list.

### Input

| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| `lists` | Letters of the lists to load (`B`, `G`, `H`, `J`, `K`, `L`, `M`, `N`, `O`, `P`, `Q`, `S`). Empty = all. |
| `reg_numbers` | EPA Reg. No. lookup. |
| `active_ingredients` / `companies` / `keywords` | Contains filters. |
| `use_sites` / `surface_types` | e.g. `Hospital`, `Food Contact`. |
| `max_contact_time_minutes` | Only fast-acting products. |
| `output_mode` | `per_list` (default) or `per_product`. |
| `only_new` / `report_removed` | Monitor mode. |
| `max_items` | Limit results (0 = all). |

#### Examples

C. diff and Candida auris products with 3 minutes or less of contact time for hospitals:

```json
{ "lists": ["K", "P"], "use_sites": ["Hospital"], "max_contact_time_minutes": "3" }
```

Which lists are my products on?

```json
{ "reg_numbers": ["6836-523", "1677-129-12345"], "output_mode": "per_product" }
```

### Output (sample)

```json
{
  "list": "List K",
  "listName": "Clostridioides difficile (C. diff) spores",
  "epaRegNumber": "89950-1",
  "productName": "Veriox OX 1.1",
  "company": "Armis Biopharma, Inc.",
  "activeIngredients": ["Hydrogen peroxide", "Peroxyacetic acid (Peracetic acid)"],
  "contactTimeMinutes": 1.5,
  "formulationType": "Ready-to-use",
  "surfaceTypes": ["Hard Nonporous (HN)"],
  "useSites": ["Hospital", "Institutional"],
  "listPageUpdated": "2026-06-03",
  "onList": true,
  "pplsLabelUrl": "https://ordspub.epa.gov/ords/pesticides/f?p=PPLS:102:::NO::P102_REG_NUM:89950-1"
}
```

### Pricing

Pay per result: you pay only for the records returned, with no start fee.

### Notes

- Values are kept exactly as EPA publishes them, including occasional source typos. Always follow the product label.
- `contactTimeMinutes` is the first contact time EPA lists. Lists H and S have several (MRSA/VRE, HIV/HBV/HCV), and all of them are in `contactTimes`.
- Not affiliated with or endorsed by US EPA. Inclusion on an EPA list is not an endorsement.

# Actor input Schema

## `lists` (type: `array`):

Which EPA lists to load. Empty = all 12 lists (~3,600 entries).

## `reg_numbers` (type: `array`):

Check EPA registration numbers (e.g. 67619-12). Distributor numbers (third segment, e.g. 1677-129-12345) are matched to the primary registration. Unmatched numbers are output with onList=false.

## `active_ingredients` (type: `array`):

Active ingredient contains, e.g. Hydrogen peroxide, Quaternary ammonium, Sodium hypochlorite.

## `companies` (type: `array`):

Registrant company contains, e.g. Clorox, Ecolab, Diversey.

## `keywords` (type: `array`):

Match any keyword in product name, company, active ingredients, pathogens or formulation, e.g. wipe.

## `use_sites` (type: `array`):

Use site contains, e.g. Hospital, Residential, Veterinary.

## `surface_types` (type: `array`):

Surface type contains, e.g. Food Contact, Porous.

## `max_contact_time_minutes` (type: `string`):

Only products whose (first listed) contact time is at or below this many minutes, e.g. 2.

## `output_mode` (type: `string`):

Per product merges all lists a registration number appears on (lists, pathogens, contact times per list).

## `output_not_found` (type: `boolean`):

For Reg. No. lookups, output a row with onList=false for each number not found.

## `max_items` (type: `integer`):

0 = no limit.

## `only_new` (type: `boolean`):

First run saves a baseline; later runs output only products added to (or removed from) the lists. Schedule it weekly.

## `report_removed` (type: `boolean`):

In monitor mode, also output products that disappeared since the last run.

## `state_store_name` (type: `string`):

Use a different name per saved filter set.
