## Pricing

from $1.00 / 1,000 grants

This Actor is paid per event. You are not charged for the Apify platform usage, but only a fixed price for specific events.
Since this Actor supports Apify Store discounts, the price gets lower the higher subscription plan you have.

## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

This Actor reads the German federal government's Förderkatalog — every project the federal ministries fund directly — and returns one record per project: grant reference, ministry, recipient and executing body, topic, runtime, federal amount, subject classification and funding type. Filters run on the Förderkatalog itself.

### What it does

- Returns **one record per project**, newest start date first: 302,282 projects when this was verified, 42,016 of them still running.
- **Filters at the source**: topic keyword, ministry, recipient or executing body, grant reference, federal state, runtime, amount and running-only.
- Reads each project's **detail page** for the subject classification (Leistungsplansystematik), funding type and profile, and the city and state of the recipient and executing body.
- Keeps the search session the portal needs and walks every result page.
- Needs **no API key**.

### Use cases

| You need to | How this Actor does it |
| --- | --- |
| See who gets federal money in a field | Set a topic keyword (German) and group by recipient |
| Track an organisation's federal grants | Set Recipient and read amounts and runtimes |
| Map funding by state | Filter by federal state and sum `federalAmount` |
| Watch new projects | Set "Starts on or after" to a recent date and schedule the run |
| Feed a research agent | Call the Actor over MCP and let the model set the filters |

### Input

| Field | Type | Default | What it controls |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| `keyword` | string | empty | Matched anywhere in the project topic (German); `%` and `_` are wildcards |
| `ministry` | string | empty | Current ministry code, e.g. `BMFTR`, `BMWE` |
| `recipient` / `executingBody` | string | empty | Matched anywhere in the organisation name |
| `grantReference` | string | empty | Förderkennzeichen, exact or with `%` |
| `state` | string | empty | Federal state, e.g. `Bayern` |
| `startFrom` / `endTo` | date | empty | Runtime starts on or after / ends on or before |
| `minAmount` / `maxAmount` | integer | empty | Federal amount in euro |
| `onlyRunning` | boolean | `false` | Only projects still running |
| `fetchDetails` | boolean | `true` | Reads the detail page; off is much faster |
| `maxItems` | integer | `500` | Caps how many projects are returned, and so the cost; `0` for all matched |

```json
{
    "keyword": "Wasserstoff",
    "startFrom": "2024-01-01",
    "maxItems": 200
}
```

### Output

| Field group | Fields |
| --- | --- |
| Identity | `grantReference`, `projectUrl` |
| Project | `topic`, `jointProject`, `planClassification`, `fundingType`, `fundingProfile` |
| Funder | `ministry`, `ministryUnit`, `administeringAgency` |
| Recipient | `recipient`, `recipientCity`, `recipientState` |
| Executing body | `executingBody`, `executingBodyCity`, `executingBodyState` |
| Money and time | `federalAmount` (euro), `startDate`, `endDate` |
| Raw | `detail` — every detail-page field as published |

```json
{
    "grantReference": "BCT0022",
    "topic": "Entwicklung Kompakter Gasgeneratoren zur Erzeugung von Brenngasen …",
    "ministry": "BMWE",
    "recipient": "Siemens Aktiengesellschaft",
    "recipientCity": "Erlangen",
    "recipientState": "Bayern, Deutschland",
    "federalAmount": 1416705,
    "startDate": "1973-08-01",
    "endDate": "1974-11-30",
    "planClassification": "Emissionsverringerung und Energiereinsparung im Straßenverkehr",
    "fundingType": "Direkte Projektförderung"
}
```

### Coverage and limits

As the Förderkatalog itself states (checked 2026-10-05):

- It covers projects of six federal ministries: BMFTR, BMUKN, BMWE, BMLEH, BMV and BMJV. It is not a complete view of all federal funding, and projects of the Länder or other funders are not included.
- Projects appear at the earliest 60 days after approval.
- Closed projects are listed under the ministry that would be responsible today, so former names such as BMWK match nothing.

Also: topics and names are in German as published, some projects carry a federal amount of 0, and runs with `fetchDetails` on read one extra page per project (about 3 seconds each).

### Pricing

Pay per event: one `grant-scraper` event per project written to the dataset. The optional schema.org block is charged once per run.

# Actor input Schema

## `keyword` (type: `string`):

Matched anywhere in the project topic by the Förderkatalog (German, e.g. 'Wasserstoff' — 3,129 projects when verified). Use % and \_ as wildcards for exact patterns.

## `ministry` (type: `string`):

Federal ministry code as the Förderkatalog uses it today. Examples: 'BMFTR' (194,138 projects), 'BMWE' (48,421). Former names such as 'BMWK' match nothing.

## `recipient` (type: `string`):

Matched anywhere in the grant recipient's name. Example: 'Fraunhofer' (12,780).

## `executingBody` (type: `string`):

Matched anywhere in the name of the body carrying out the work. Example: 'Fraunhofer' (12,702). Ignored when Recipient is set.

## `grantReference` (type: `string`):

Förderkennzeichen, exact or with % wildcard. Example: '03SF0%' (1,547 projects when verified).

## `state` (type: `string`):

German federal state of the recipient. Example: 'Bayern' (57,845).

## `startFrom` (type: `string`):

Keeps projects whose runtime starts on or after this date (YYYY-MM-DD).

## `endTo` (type: `string`):

Keeps projects whose runtime ends on or before this date (YYYY-MM-DD).

## `minAmount` (type: `integer`):

Keeps projects with at least this federal funding amount.

## `maxAmount` (type: `integer`):

Keeps projects with at most this federal funding amount.

## `onlyRunning` (type: `boolean`):

Only projects still running (42,016 when verified). Off returns every project, 302,282 when verified.

## `fetchDetails` (type: `boolean`):

Reads each project's detail page for the subject classification, funding type and profile, and the city and state of the recipient and executing body. Off is much faster.

## `maxItems` (type: `integer`):

Caps how many projects are written to the dataset, and so caps the cost. Set to 0 for everything matched. Default is 500.

## `schemaOrg` (type: `boolean`):

Appends a `schemaOrg` object to every record, mapping it to schema.org (MonetaryGrant). Charged once per run, not per record.

## Actor input object example

```json
{
  "onlyRunning": false,
  "fetchDetails": true,
  "maxItems": 500,
  "schemaOrg": false
}
```

# Actor output Schema

## `results` (type: `string`):

Projects matched by the run, one item per record, in the default dataset.
