## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

### Spotify Play Count & Monthly Listeners Scraper

Paste any Spotify link and get the play count of every track, or an artist's monthly listeners and followers, as a table or API. Pay per track, no subscription, no login.

#### Try it now

Run it with the prefilled album link: 18 tracks with their play counts arrive in a few seconds and cost about 4 cents.

#### What you can do

- **Watch your own releases.** Link: your artist page, "also scrape their albums and singles" on, "Add daily streams" on. Schedule it weekly and get streams per day for every track once it has been tracked for a day.
- **Measure a playlist.** Link: any public playlist. Every track's play count in one run, to see which placements move numbers.
- **Compare artists.** Links: a few artist pages. Monthly listeners, followers, world rank and top cities for each, plus their top tracks' play counts.

#### What you get

One row per track, and one per artist. A real sample (November 2026):

| trackName | artistNames | albumName | playCount | releaseDate |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Feel This Moment (feat. Christina Aguilera) | Pitbull, Christina Aguilera | Global Warming | 1,191,086,257 | 2012-11-16 |
| Don't Stop the Party (feat. TJR) | Pitbull, TJR | Global Warming | 301,926,982 | 2012-11-16 |
| Never Gonna Give You Up | Rick Astley | Whenever You Need Somebody | 1,199,451,635 | 1987-11-12 |

| artistName | monthlyListeners | followers | worldRank |
|---|---|---|---|
| Pitbull | 76,120,189 | 13,580,196 | 18 |

The fields that matter most:

- **playCount** — total plays Spotify shows for the track, as a number you can sort and chart.
- **streamsLast1d / streamsLast7d / streamsLast30d** — with "Add daily streams" on: plays over the last day, week and month, for tracks we have tracked that long. New tracks start today and fill in from tomorrow.
- **monthlyListeners / followers / worldRank / topCities** — the artist page's numbers.
- **artistNames / artistIds / albumId / releaseDate** — so rows join cleanly to your own data.
- **trackUrl / artistUrl** — the page on Spotify.

#### How much does it cost

Pay per event, prices as of November 2026:

- $0.002 per run start
- $2.00 per 1,000 tracks
- $5.00 per 1,000 artists

Example: an artist's catalog of 400 tracks with daily streams, weekly, costs about $0.80 a week. Set a spending limit on any run and the scraper stops there.

#### How to use it

1. Paste Spotify links, one per line: tracks, albums, artists or playlists (open.spotify.com links or spotify: URIs).
2. Under Advanced, switch on daily streams and, for artists, their albums and singles if you want the full catalog.
3. Run, then export as CSV, Excel or JSON, or read the results by API.
4. Save it as a task and add a schedule (for example every Monday at 09:00) for a weekly report.

#### Use it with AI assistants

Connect the scraper through Apify's MCP server (`https://mcp.apify.com/?actors=publicrecords/spotify-play-count-scraper`) and ask: "How many plays does each track of this album have?" with the link. Assistants that support MCP can run it directly.

#### FAQ

**Is this legal?** It reads the same public pages Spotify shows anyone without logging in. It does not bypass any login or access control. Not affiliated with Spotify.

**Why are the daily-stream fields empty?** The track was not tracked before today, or daily streams are off. Albums you look up join our daily tracking within a day, so a run a day later shows streamsLast1d and a week later streamsLast7d.

**Why is playCount empty for a track?** Spotify shows no count for some tracks (very new or relinked ones). The row is kept with an empty count rather than a zero.

**Is there a limit on tracks per link?** No. By default every track of a playlist, album or catalog is returned. To cap a very large playlist or catalog (and its cost), set "Max tracks per link"; 0 means no limit.

**How is this different from subscription analytics tools?** You pay only for the tracks you pull, with no monthly plan, and you get the data as a table or API you can schedule and feed into your own reports.

# Actor input Schema

## `urls` (type: `array`):

One per line: track, album, artist or playlist links (open.spotify.com/…) or URIs (spotify:album:…).

## `addDailyStreams` (type: `boolean`):

Adds streams per day for tracks we have been tracking. Tracks seen for the first time get empty values today and history from tomorrow.

## `includeArtistAlbums` (type: `boolean`):

Off: an artist link returns the artist row plus its top tracks. On: also every track of the albums and singles shown on the artist page (slower).

## `maxTracksPerTarget` (type: `integer`):

0 means no limit. Large playlists and full catalogs can run to thousands of tracks.
