# Marketplace Sales Normalizer (`punctual_alghoza/marketplace-sales-normalizer`) Actor

Turn eBay, Poshmark, Mercari and Etsy sales-report CSV exports into one validated ledger JSON: exact amounts, fee breakdown, and every row's total price verified. No account access, no scraping - customer-owned exports only. Privacy by default: buyer PII never appears in output.

## Pricing

from $300.00 / 1,000 sales report normalizeds

This Actor is paid per event. You are not charged for the Apify platform usage, but only a fixed price for specific events.

## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Marketplace Sales Normalizer

Deterministic conversion of marketplace sales-report CSV exports into one
validated ledger JSON. No account access, no scraping, no LLM — customer-owned
exports only. Privacy by default: buyer PII never appears in output.

### Supported platforms

| Platform | Report | Status |
|---|---|---|
| eBay | Seller Hub orders report (81-column layout, incl. renamed legacy columns) | ✅ implemented |
| Poshmark | Sales report | ⏳ awaiting real sample export |
| Mercari | Sales report | ⏳ awaiting real sample export |
| Etsy | Orders CSV | ⏳ awaiting real sample export |

### What it does per row

- Parses every money cell exactly (Decimal, never float) and dates to YYYY-MM-DD
- Recomputes the line total and verifies it against the stated Total Price —
  every row is either `verified` or `mismatch` (both totals emitted, nothing invented)
- Deduplicates repeated rows, sums exact totals, groups extra fees
- Rejects files it cannot verify: unknown columns, missing required columns,
  empty money cells, unparseable dates, bad quantities, schema drift

See [CONTRACT.md](CONTRACT.md) for the complete fail-closed rules and output schema.

### Usage

CLI:

```bash
python -m msales.cli examples/synthetic/ebay_orders_sample.csv
```

HTTP (loopback only, optional bearer via `MSALES_BEARER`):

```bash
python -m msales.server &
curl -X POST http://127.0.0.1:8787/normalize \
  -H 'Content-Type: application/json' \
  -d '{"content": "<csv text>", "platform": "ebay"}'
```

### Apify

Actor input: `{"content": "<csv text>", "platform": "ebay"}`.
Pay-per-event charge `report-normalized` fires once per successful file only
when `MSALES_CHARGE_ENABLED=1` (off by default).

### Real-file validation

Synthetic fixtures cover the documented schema; real platform exports are the
acceptance gate. Drop your own exports into `examples/real/` (never committed)
to validate a platform's descriptor before it ships.

### Use from AI agents

Call via Apify MCP (`search-actors` -> `fetch-actor-details` -> `call-actor`)
or the REST/Python/JS clients. Always pass a per-run spend cap:
`callOptions: {"maxTotalChargeUsd": <1.00>, "timeout": 120}`.
Deterministic and fail-closed: errors like SCHEMA_DRIFT or UNSUPPORTED\_\*
mean the layout is unsupported - retrying will not help; surface the code to
the user. Agent skill covering this and 7 sibling actors:

## Actor input object example

```json
{
  "platform": "ebay"
}
```

# API

You can run this Actor programmatically using our API. Below are code examples in JavaScript, Python, and CLI, as well as the OpenAPI specification and MCP server setup.

## JavaScript example

```javascript
import { ApifyClient } from 'apify-client';
// Initialize the ApifyClient with your Apify API token
// Replace the '<YOUR_API_TOKEN>' with your token
const client = new ApifyClient({
    token: '<YOUR_API_TOKEN>',
});
// Prepare Actor input
const input = {};
// Run the Actor and wait for it to finish
const run = await client.actor("punctual_alghoza/marketplace-sales-normalizer").call(input);
// Fetch and print Actor results from the run's dataset (if any)
console.log('Results from dataset');
console.log(`💾 Check your data here: https://console.apify.com/storage/datasets/${run.defaultDatasetId}`);
const { items } = await client.dataset(run.defaultDatasetId).listItems();
items.forEach((item) => {
    console.dir(item);
});
