## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Dubai eSupply Tenders Scraper

Get the **current public tenders from [Dubai eSupply](https://esupply.dubai.gov.ae/esupply/web/)**, the Dubai Government procurement portal used by Dubai Municipality, RTA, Dubai Police, DEWA and 40+ other entities, as clean JSON, CSV or Excel. No login. A default run takes about 15 seconds.

### Who it's for

- Suppliers and bid teams watching for new RFQs in their category
- Tender-alert products, CRMs and BD dashboards
- AI agents answering "what is Dubai Government buying right now?"

### Input

All fields are optional, so `{}` works.

| Field | Default | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| `maxItems` | 20 | Max tenders (1 to 500). Each one is a billable result. |
| `buyerFilter` | (none) | Buyer contains, e.g. `RTA`, `Dubai Municipality` |
| `categoryFilter` | (none) | Category contains, e.g. `IT & Telecom`, `Vehicles` |
| `includeDetails` | true | Open detail pages for title, description, line items and category. Set false for the fastest run. |

### Output

One dataset row per item:

```json
{
  "source": "dubai-esupply",
  "buyer": "Dubai Municipality",
  "title": "BOOT 5001868119/RENAULT TANKER 2009 (+5 more items)",
  "reference": "PR-08402",
  "category": "Vehicles & Spare Parts",
  "categorySource": "inferred",
  "publishedAt": "13/10/2026 08:40",
  "closesAt": "20/10/2026 12:00",
  "currency": "AED",
  "url": "https://esupply.dubai.gov.ae/esop/guest/go/opportunity/detail?opportunityId=246078",
  "projectCode": "tender_243400",
  "lots": [{ "type": "RFQ", "code": "...", "title": "...", "closesAt": "..." }],
  "scrapedAt": "2026-10-18T07:00:00.000Z"
}
```

Dates are Dubai time (UTC+4). eSupply buyers almost always publish the category "Other", so `category` is inferred from the title and line items, and `categorySource` tells you which.

The run's key-value store also holds an `OUTPUT` record: `{ count, sample }`.

### Pricing (pay per event)

$0.006 per tender returned + $0.005 per run start (about **$6 per 1,000 tenders**). A default 20-tender run costs about $0.13. You pay only for rows you receive, and the Actor honours your run's max total charge: it stops before going over budget.

### Use with AI agents / Apify MCP server

This Actor is pay-per-event, so AI agents can call it on demand through the [Apify MCP server](https://mcp.apify.com) (rental Actors are excluded from MCP). Empty input works, and a default run finishes in well under the 30-second `call-actor` wait.

Add only this Actor as a tool (hosted server, OAuth sign-in):

```json
{
  "mcpServers": {
    "dubai-tenders": { "url": "https://mcp.apify.com?tools=punkjazz-labs/dubai-esupply-tenders" }
  }
}
```

Or use the Bearer header `"headers": { "Authorization": "Bearer <APIFY_TOKEN>" }`, or run the server locally with `npx -y @apify/actors-mcp-server --tools punkjazz-labs/dubai-esupply-tenders`. With the default toolset, agents find the Actor with `search-actors` ("Dubai eSupply tenders"), run it with `call-actor`, and read rows with `get-dataset-items`.

Example prompts:

- "List IT tenders on Dubai eSupply closing in the next 7 days."
- "What is RTA buying this week? Give titles, closing dates and links."

Tips for agents: pass `maxItems` to cap cost, and set `maxTotalChargeUsd` in `callOptions`; the Actor stops once the budget is used up. Each row has a stable `url` to cite.

### API

```bash
curl -X POST "https://api.apify.com/v2/acts/punkjazz-labs~dubai-esupply-tenders/run-sync-get-dataset-items?token=$APIFY_TOKEN" \
  -H 'Content-Type: application/json' -d '{"maxItems": 10, "categoryFilter": "IT"}'
```

### Notes

- Data comes from a public government page that needs no login. We collect no personal data, link every row back to its official source, and run with polite request volumes. The official notice prevails, so verify details at the source before you bid or file.
- Not affiliated with or endorsed by the Government of Dubai or Dubai eSupply.
- Issues or feature requests: use the Issues tab on the Actor page.

# Actor input Schema

## `maxItems` (type: `integer`):

Maximum number of tenders to return, newest first. Each returned tender is one billable result. The portal lists about 100 open tenders at a time. Example: 20.

## `buyerFilter` (type: `string`):

Optional. Keep only tenders whose buyer (government entity) contains this text, case-insensitive. Examples: "Dubai Municipality", "RTA", "Dubai Police", "DEWA".

## `categoryFilter` (type: `string`):

Optional. Keep only tenders whose category contains this text, case-insensitive. eSupply buyers mostly publish "Other", so we infer a category from the title and line items. Inferred values: IT & Telecom, Vehicles & Spare Parts, Construction & Civil Works, Facilities & Maintenance, Medical & Healthcare, Marketing, Events & Media, Consultancy & Professional Services, Security & Safety, Furniture & Office Supplies, Food & Catering, Energy, Utilities & Environment, Other.

## `includeDetails` (type: `boolean`):

Default true. Open each tender's public detail page to add a readable title, description, project code, line items (lots) and an inferred category. Set false for the fastest run (list fields only).

## `proxyConfiguration` (type: `object`):

Optional. Not needed normally: the public guest list works without a proxy.

## Actor input object example

```json
{
  "maxItems": 20,
  "buyerFilter": "Municipality",
  "categoryFilter": "IT & Telecom",
  "includeDetails": true
}
```

# Actor output Schema

## `results` (type: `string`):

All scraped records in the default dataset.

## `summary` (type: `string`):

JSON with item count and a 3-item sample.
