## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## UAE FTA Regulatory News Monitor (Corporate Tax, VAT, e-Invoicing)

Get the **latest UAE Federal Tax Authority news and press releases** from [tax.gov.ae](https://tax.gov.ae/en/media.centre/news.aspx), covering Corporate Tax, VAT, Excise, e-invoicing, deadlines and penalty waivers. Each item comes with its publication date and category. No login. A run takes a few seconds.

### Who it's for

- Accountants, tax advisers and CFOs at UAE companies
- Compliance alert feeds and regulatory-change digests
- AI agents answering "what changed at the UAE FTA this month?"

### Input

All fields are optional, so `{}` works.

| Field | Default | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| `maxItems` | 20 | Max items (1 to 200), newest first. Each one is a billable result. |
| `keywordFilter` | (none) | Title contains, e.g. `Corporate Tax`, `e-Invoicing`, `deadline` |
| `includeGuides` | false | Also return the 4 static FTA guide index pages |

### Output

One dataset row per item:

```json
{
  "source": "uae-fta",
  "type": "news",
  "title": "Federal Tax Authority Issues New Guide on Scope and Registration for Top-up Tax on Multinational Enterprises",
  "url": "https://tax.gov.ae/en/media.centre/News/federal.tax.authority.issues.new.guide.on.scope.and.registration.for.topup.tax.on.multinational.enterprises.aspx",
  "publishedAt": "2026-10-08",
  "category": "Press Releases",
  "scrapedAt": "2026-10-18T07:00:00.000Z"
}
```

The run's key-value store also holds an `OUTPUT` record: `{ count, sample }`.

### Pricing (pay per event)

$0.01 per item returned + $0.005 per run start. A default 20-item run costs about $0.21. Schedule it daily and filter by keyword to pay only for what you need. You pay only for rows you receive, and the Actor honours your run's max total charge: it stops before going over budget.

### Use with AI agents / Apify MCP server

This Actor is pay-per-event, so AI agents can call it on demand through the [Apify MCP server](https://mcp.apify.com) (rental Actors are excluded from MCP). Empty input works, and a default run finishes in well under the 30-second `call-actor` wait.

Add only this Actor as a tool (hosted server, OAuth sign-in):

```json
{
  "mcpServers": {
    "uae-fta-news": { "url": "https://mcp.apify.com?tools=punkjazz-labs/uae-fta-regulatory-monitor" }
  }
}
```

Or use the Bearer header `"headers": { "Authorization": "Bearer <APIFY_TOKEN>" }`, or run the server locally with `npx -y @apify/actors-mcp-server --tools punkjazz-labs/uae-fta-regulatory-monitor`. With the default toolset, agents find the Actor with `search-actors` ("UAE Federal Tax Authority news"), run it with `call-actor`, and read rows with `get-dataset-items`.

Example prompts:

- "Summarise UAE FTA announcements from the last 30 days."
- "Has the FTA published anything new on e-invoicing?"

Tips for agents: pass `maxItems` to cap cost, and set `maxTotalChargeUsd` in `callOptions`; the Actor stops once the budget is used up. Each row has a stable `url` to cite.

### API

```bash
curl -X POST "https://api.apify.com/v2/acts/punkjazz-labs~uae-fta-regulatory-monitor/run-sync-get-dataset-items?token=$APIFY_TOKEN" \
  -H 'Content-Type: application/json' -d '{"maxItems": 10, "keywordFilter": "Corporate Tax"}'
```

### Notes

- Data comes from a public government page that needs no login. We collect no personal data, link every row back to its official source, and run with polite request volumes. The official notice prevails, so verify details at the source before you bid or file.
- Not affiliated with or endorsed by the UAE Federal Tax Authority.
- Issues or feature requests: use the Issues tab on the Actor page.

# Actor input Schema

## `maxItems` (type: `integer`):

Maximum number of items to return, newest first. Each item is one billable result. Example: 10.

```
# Actor output Schema
