## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## UAE MoF Tenders Scraper (Federal Business Opportunities)

Get the **current federal procurement opportunities (RFQs/RFPs)** listed by the [UAE Ministry of Finance](https://mof.gov.ae/en/public-finance/government-procurement/current-business-opportunities/): RFQ number, federal entity, title (Arabic or English), open and close dates, and the link to the federal procurement portal. No login. A run takes a few seconds.

### Who it's for

- Suppliers tracking UAE federal ministries and authorities
- Tender-alert products and BD pipelines
- AI agents answering "which UAE federal tenders are open?"

### Input

All fields are optional, so `{}` works.

| Field | Default | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| `maxItems` | 20 | Max opportunities (1 to 500). Each one is a billable result. |
| `entityFilter` | (none) | Entity contains, e.g. `Ministry of Interior` |
| `keywordFilter` | (none) | Title contains, e.g. `software`, `maintenance`, `صيانة` |

### Output

One dataset row per item:

```json
{
  "source": "uae-mof",
  "rfqNumber": "12623",
  "entity": "Other Federal Spending",
  "title": "eInvoicing_ASP Selection_RFP_7th Oct 2026",
  "openDate": "06/10/2026 12:00:00 AM",
  "closeDate": "10/11/2026 12:00:00 AM",
  "url": "https://procurement.gov.ae/page.aspx/en/bpm/process_manage_extranet/12623",
  "sourceUrl": "https://mof.gov.ae/en/public-finance/government-procurement/current-business-opportunities/",
  "scrapedAt": "2026-10-18T07:00:00.000Z"
}
```

The run's key-value store also holds an `OUTPUT` record: `{ count, sample }`.

### Pricing (pay per event)

$0.006 per opportunity returned + $0.005 per run start (about **$6 per 1,000 results**). The MoF page usually lists 5 to 30 open opportunities, so a full run costs a few cents. You pay only for rows you receive, and the Actor honours your run's max total charge: it stops before going over budget.

### Use with AI agents / Apify MCP server

This Actor is pay-per-event, so AI agents can call it on demand through the [Apify MCP server](https://mcp.apify.com) (rental Actors are excluded from MCP). Empty input works, and a default run finishes in well under the 30-second `call-actor` wait.

Add only this Actor as a tool (hosted server, OAuth sign-in):

```json
{
  "mcpServers": {
    "uae-mof-tenders": { "url": "https://mcp.apify.com?tools=punkjazz-labs/uae-mof-tenders" }
  }
}
```

Or use the Bearer header `"headers": { "Authorization": "Bearer <APIFY_TOKEN>" }`, or run the server locally with `npx -y @apify/actors-mcp-server --tools punkjazz-labs/uae-mof-tenders`. With the default toolset, agents find the Actor with `search-actors` ("UAE Ministry of Finance tenders"), run it with `call-actor`, and read rows with `get-dataset-items`.

Example prompts:

- "Which UAE federal tenders are open right now, and when do they close?"
- "Any UAE Ministry of Finance RFQs about AI or software?"

Tips for agents: pass `maxItems` to cap cost, and set `maxTotalChargeUsd` in `callOptions`; the Actor stops once the budget is used up. Each row has a stable `url` to cite.

### API

```bash
curl -X POST "https://api.apify.com/v2/acts/punkjazz-labs~uae-mof-tenders/run-sync-get-dataset-items?token=$APIFY_TOKEN" \
  -H 'Content-Type: application/json' -d '{"maxItems": 10, "keywordFilter": "software"}'
```

### Notes

- Data comes from a public government page that needs no login. We collect no personal data, link every row back to its official source, and run with polite request volumes. The official notice prevails, so verify details at the source before you bid or file.
- Not affiliated with or endorsed by the UAE Ministry of Finance.
- Issues or feature requests: use the Issues tab on the Actor page.
