## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Douyin Scraper: Videos, Comments, Creators, Product Reviews

Get public data from Douyin (抖音), the Chinese version of TikTok, as clean JSON. No Douyin account, cookies or
proxies needed, and you only pay for results you get.

### What you can get

| Mode | Input | One result is |
|---|---|---|
| Search videos by keyword | keywords | a video: caption, author, likes, comments, shares, saves, duration, hashtags, cover, URL |
| Search users by keyword | keywords | a user: nickname, followers, verification, sec_uid |
| Video details | video URLs or IDs | a video with its counts |
| Video comments | video URLs or IDs | a comment: text, likes, IP location, time, author; optionally its replies |
| Creator profiles | profile URLs or sec_uid | a profile: followers, total likes, videos, bio, verification, IP location |
| Product reviews | Douyin shop product URLs or IDs | a review of a Douyin shop product |

### Use cases

- Trend and content research on the Chinese market.
- Brand monitoring and comment sentiment analysis.
- Influencer discovery and vetting.
- E-commerce research: what buyers say about Douyin shop products.
- AI agents: call this Actor as a tool through Apify's MCP server.

### Input example

```json
{
  "mode": "comments",
  "urls": ["https://www.douyin.com/video/7676683845638629625"],
  "maxItems": 200,
  "maxRepliesPerComment": 5
}
```

### Output example

```json
{
  "cid": "7680482670246478607",
  "text": "香蕉电池的问题解决了吗？[大笑]",
  "likes": 4,
  "ip_location": "河北",
  "reply_count": 2,
  "created_at": "2026-09-01T16:35:27+08:00",
  "is_hot": true,
  "author": { "nickname": "...", "uid": "...", "sec_uid": "MS4wLjABAAAA..." },
  "input": { "videoId": "7676683845638629625" }
}
```

Every result carries `input`: the keyword, video, creator or product it was fetched for (and `replyTo` for
replies).

### Pricing

Pay per result, nothing per run:

| Result | Price |
|---|---|
| Video (search or details) | $2.99 per 1,000 |
| Comment or reply | $2.00 per 1,000 |
| Creator profile or user search result | $3.99 per 1,000 |
| Product review | $3.00 per 1,000 |

Set a maximum cost for a run and the Actor stops there. Lookups that find nothing are not charged.
On Apify's free plan a run returns up to 10 results, enough to try the Actor; any paid Apify plan removes the limit.

### Support

Something not working, or missing a field you need? Open an issue on this Actor's **Issues** tab and we'll look into
it. The source platforms change from time to time: when the data service is temporarily unavailable, the run says so
in its status message, and failed lookups are never charged.

### FAQ

**Where do I find IDs?** Video: `douyin.com/video/<ID>`. Creator: `douyin.com/user/<sec_uid>` (starts with
`MS4wLjABAAAA`). Paste whole URLs; the Actor picks the ID out. Short `v.douyin.com` links are not supported; open
them in a browser first.

**Is this official?** No. This Actor is not affiliated with Douyin or ByteDance. It returns publicly visible data;
use it in line with the laws and rules that apply to you, especially for personal data.
