## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## RedNote (Xiaohongshu) Scraper: Notes, Comments, Profiles

Get public data from RedNote (Xiaohongshu, 小红书), China's lifestyle and product-review platform, as clean JSON.
No RedNote account, cookies or proxies needed, and you only pay for results you get.

### What you can get

| Mode | Input | One result is |
|---|---|---|
| Search notes by keyword | keywords | a note: title, text, author, likes, comments, saves, shares, publish time, cover, images, video |
| Note details | note URLs or IDs | a note with its full text, images and counts |
| Note comments | note URLs or IDs | a comment: text, likes, IP location, time, author; optionally its replies |
| User profiles | profile URLs or user IDs | a profile: nickname, followers, likes and saves, notes, verification, location, bio |
| Notes of a user | profile URLs or user IDs | a note from the user's profile |

Search can be sorted by relevance, newest, most liked, most commented or most saved, and filtered by note type
(video or image) and publish time.

### Use cases

- Brand and product monitoring: what people say about your brand, product or category on RedNote.
- Market research for the Chinese market: trends, consumer language, popular products.
- Influencer research: find creators and see how their notes perform.
- Comment analysis and sentiment: pull comments with replies for a note.
- AI agents: call this Actor as a tool through Apify's MCP server.

### Input example

```json
{
  "mode": "search",
  "keywords": ["咖啡", "露营"],
  "sort": "most_liked",
  "publishedWithin": "month",
  "maxItems": 100
}
```

Chinese keywords match far more notes than English ones. For comments, add `"maxRepliesPerComment": 5` to get
replies too.

### Output example

```json
{
  "id": "soc_xia_8bc7bca06527",
  "platform": "xiaohongshu",
  "text": "在广州！超chill的一家江景咖啡店☕️ ...",
  "author": { "user_id": "5d60d15500000000010020e7", "nickname": "ooo" },
  "metrics": { "likes": 292, "comments": 8, "saves": 143, "shares": 447 },
  "extra": {
    "source_id": "6aa4068b00000000110306d4",
    "url": "https://www.xiaohongshu.com/explore/6aa4068b00000000110306d4",
    "title": "在广州！超chill的一家江景咖啡店☕️",
    "note_type": "image",
    "published_at": "2026-09-11T21:47:55+08:00",
    "cover_url": "https://...",
    "images": ["https://..."]
  },
  "input": { "keyword": "咖啡" }
}
```

Every result carries `input`: the keyword, note or user it was fetched for (and `replyTo` for replies). Some
nicknames come masked by RedNote itself.

### Pricing

Pay per result, nothing per run:

| Result | Price |
|---|---|
| Note (search, details, user notes) | $3.99 per 1,000 |
| Comment or reply | $4.00 per 1,000 |
| User profile | $8 per 1,000 |

Set a maximum cost for a run and the Actor stops there. Lookups that find nothing are not charged.
On Apify's free plan a run returns up to 10 results, enough to try the Actor; any paid Apify plan removes the limit.

### Support

Something not working, or missing a field you need? Open an issue on this Actor's **Issues** tab and we'll look into
it. The source platforms change from time to time: when the data service is temporarily unavailable, the run says so
in its status message, and failed lookups are never charged.

### FAQ

**Where do I find a note or user ID?** In the URL: `xiaohongshu.com/explore/<note ID>` and
`xiaohongshu.com/user/profile/<user ID>`. Paste whole URLs; the Actor picks the ID out. Short `xhslink.com` links
are not supported; open them in a browser first.

**Is this official?** No. This Actor is not affiliated with Xiaohongshu. It returns publicly visible data; use it
in line with the laws and rules that apply to you, especially for personal data.
