## Pricing

from $14.97 / 1,000 review summaries

This Actor is paid per event. You are not charged for the Apify platform usage, but only a fixed price for specific events.
Since this Actor supports Apify Store discounts, the price gets lower the higher subscription plan you have.

## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Amazon Review Summary Scraper

Turn **Amazon product reviews into one AI summary row per ASIN**. Instead of exporting hundreds of raw review rows, you get themes, praise, complaints, and aspect-level sentiment (sound quality, battery life, shipping, value, and more) in a single structured record—ideal for competitive intelligence, catalog QA, and e-commerce analytics pipelines.

Paste a public product URL such as `https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0D1XD1ZV3` or pass ASINs directly. No Amazon seller login is required.

### What can this Amazon review summary scraper do?

- Collect public customer review excerpts for each ASIN (from the product page and, when available, review listing pages).
- Generate an **AI summary** with recurring themes, top praise, and top complaints.
- Return **aspect-level sentiment** (positive, negative, mixed, or neutral) with short explanations.
- Output **one dataset row per product**, similar to high-level review summary Actors for other platforms.
- Process multiple ASINs or product URLs in a single run.
- Export JSON, CSV, or Excel and schedule runs on Apify.

### What data can you extract?

| Field | Meaning |
| --- | --- |
| asin | Amazon Standard Identification Number |
| productUrl | Public product detail page |
| title | Product title |
| imageUrl | Primary product image |
| reviewCountSampled | Number of review excerpts fed into the AI step |
| themes | Recurring topics across sampled reviews |
| praise | Repeated positive points |
| complaints | Repeated drawbacks or issues |
| aspectSentiment | Array of `{ aspect, sentiment, summary }` |
| amazonCustomersSay | Amazon’s public “Customers say” overview when present |
| scrapedAt | ISO timestamp |

### Input

```json
{
  "startUrls": [{ "url": "https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0D1XD1ZV3" }],
  "asins": ["B0D1XD1ZV3"],
  "maxReviews": 15,
  "proxyConfiguration": { "useApifyProxy": false }
}
```

Provide at least one **Start URL** or **ASIN**. `maxReviews` controls how many distinct review excerpts are sampled before summarization (default 15).

Enable **Apify Proxy** (datacenter) if Amazon blocks product or review pages from your IP. The Actor still collects “Customers say” excerpts from the product page when listing pages are unavailable.

### Use cases

- Compare how shoppers describe rival earbuds, supplements, or appliances without reading thousands of reviews.
- Enrich product catalogs with sentiment themes for merchandising and ads.
- Monitor reputation shifts on hero SKUs on a schedule.
- Feed structured summaries into BI tools, spreadsheets, or LLM workflows.
- Qualify new suppliers by summarizing public buyer feedback at scale.
- Spot quality issues before a restock by reading complaints, not star ratings alone.
- Brief a marketplace team on why a hero SKU is winning or losing.
- Build a weekly sentiment digest for a short list of ASINs.

### Pricing

Each saved product summary is one **review-summary** event. On the free plan that is **$19.99 per 1,000 summaries** (about $0.02 each). The price covers the AI summary. A small test with one product URL finishes in a few minutes.

### FAQ

**Does this need an Amazon login?** No. Only publicly reachable product and review pages are used.

**How is this different from raw review scrapers?** Raw scrapers emit one row per review. This Actor emits **one summary row per ASIN** with AI-structured themes and aspect sentiment.

**Why is reviewCountSampled lower than maxReviews?** Amazon may expose fewer excerpts on the product page, or listing pages may be blocked without a proxy.

# Actor input Schema

## `startUrls` (type: `array`):

Public Amazon product detail URLs (https://www.amazon.com/dp/ASIN).

## `asins` (type: `array`):

Amazon Standard Identification Numbers (10 characters), e.g. B0D1XD1ZV3.
