## Pricing

from $3.60 / 1,000 companies

This Actor is paid per event. You are not charged for the Apify platform usage, but only a fixed price for specific events.
Since this Actor supports Apify Store discounts, the price gets lower the higher subscription plan you have.

## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## SEC EDGAR API – Company Financials, 10-K Data & Filings

Clean **annual financials for any SEC-reporting company** – straight from official **EDGAR XBRL** data: **revenue, gross profit, operating and net income, EPS, cash flow, free cash flow, assets, liabilities, equity and cash** for up to 15 years, with **growth and margins**, the **company profile** and its **latest 10-K, 10-Q and 8-K filings**. Look up by **ticker, CIK or name**.

### Why this one

- **Normalised across years.** Companies rename XBRL tags (Apple moved from `SalesRevenueNet` to `Revenues` to `RevenueFromContractWithCustomer…`); every year is filled from the right tag, restatements included.
- **US GAAP and IFRS.** Foreign filers (20-F/40-F) in their reporting currency, with the latest revenue converted to USD.
- **Spreadsheet-ready.** Latest year flattened into columns (revenue, net income, margins, growth…), full history in `financials`.
- **Filings monitor.** "Only companies with new filings" turns a watchlist into a daily 10-K / 10-Q / 8-K alert feed.
- **Official and free of licence worries.** SEC data is public domain; requests follow SEC fair-access rules.

### Compared with alternatives

|                                        | This Actor                           | Typical alternatives |
| -------------------------------------- | ------------------------------------ | -------------------- |
| Tag changes across years handled | Yes (one revenue series per company) | Raw XBRL facts |
| US GAAP and IFRS (20-F) | Both, with USD conversion | US GAAP only |
| Spreadsheet-ready latest year + ratios | Yes                                  | Nested JSON          |
| Filings monitor | Only companies with new filings | No |

### What you get

**Profile:** CIK, name, tickers, exchanges, SIC code and industry, filer category, state of incorporation, fiscal year end, EIN, LEI, phone, business address, former names.

**Latest fiscal year:** fiscal year, period end, currency, revenue, gross profit, operating income, net income, diluted EPS, operating cash flow, free cash flow, total assets, total liabilities, equity, cash, shares outstanding, revenue growth %, gross / operating / net margin %, revenue in USD (non-USD filers).

**History:** `financials` – one entry per fiscal year with the same figures.

**Filings:** form, filing date, report date, description, accession number and document URL.

2. Choose how many years of history you need.
3. Click Start – or schedule it with "only companies with new filings" for a filings monitor.

### Use cases

- **Investment research & screening:** revenue growth and margins across peers.
- **Financial models & dashboards:** multi-year fundamentals without manual 10-K reading.
- **AI agents:** "How fast did Shopify grow last year?" via the Apify MCP server.
- **Credit & KYB:** profile, EIN, address and financial size of US-listed counterparties.
- **Filings alerts:** daily 8-K/10-Q/10-K feed for a watchlist.

### Pricing

Pay per company, everything included:

| Apify plan | Per 1,000 companies | Per run |

| Free       | $5.00               | $0.005  |
| Starter    | $4.60               | $0.005  |
| Scale      | $4.20               | $0.005  |

### Cost examples

- S\&P 500 fundamentals: $2.50
- Daily filings watchlist of 50 companies: cents per day

### Use it from code, n8n or AI agents

Run it from the Apify API, the Python or JavaScript client, n8n, Make or Zapier – or let an AI agent call it through the **Apify MCP server** (Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor).

```python
from apify_client import ApifyClient
client = ApifyClient("<YOUR_APIFY_TOKEN>")
run = client.actor("ram1eal/sec-company-financials").call(run_input={"companies":["AAPL","MSFT"],"yearsOfHistory":5})
for item in client.dataset(run["defaultDatasetId"]).iterate_items():
    print(item)
```

```javascript
import { ApifyClient } from 'apify-client';
const client = new ApifyClient({ token: '<YOUR_APIFY_TOKEN>' });
const run = await client
  .actor('ram1eal/sec-company-financials')
  .call({ companies: ['AAPL', 'MSFT'], yearsOfHistory: 5 });
const { items } = await client.dataset(run.defaultDatasetId).listItems();
```

**MCP:** add `ram1eal/sec-company-financials` to the Apify MCP server and ask in plain English – the agent fills the input and pays per result.

### Data sourcing & compliance

- Official SEC EDGAR APIs (`data.sec.gov` company facts and submissions, `company_tickers.json`). U.S. government data – public domain.
- SEC fair-access rules respected: declared User-Agent, under 10 requests per second.
- Companies only: EDGAR records of individuals (insiders filing Forms 3/4/5) are never returned.

### FAQ

- **Why is a figure missing?** Not every company reports every concept in XBRL (banks have no gross profit, for example).
- **Quarterly numbers?** This version returns annual figures; recent 10-Qs are listed in filings.
- **What if something breaks?** Open an issue – typical response under 12 hours.
