## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## App Store Scraper — iOS App Details & Reviews

Extract **app details and reviews from the Apple App Store**, in any country. Pass app ids or URLs, or find apps by keyword. For each app you get the rating, **1–5 star histogram**, top-chart position, price, version, update date, size, developer and more. You also get its **reviews**: title, full text, stars, date and the developer's response.

It uses the App Store's current web data feed. The old iTunes RSS review feed caps out at 500 reviews and now often returns nothing. This Actor pages **thousands of reviews per app** and still works over plain HTTP (no browser). Requests are paced and retried automatically, so scheduled runs keep succeeding.

### What you can do with it

- **Review monitoring:** collect new critical reviews every day and route them to support or product
- **Competitor research:** compare ratings, histograms, chart positions, pricing and update cadence
- **Sentiment and NLP datasets:** thousands of reviews per app and storefront
- **App store optimization (ASO):** track rating shifts and what users say after each release
- **Market mapping:** find the top apps for any keyword in any country

### Features

- 📦 **Apps by id or URL**, e.g. `324684580` or `https://apps.apple.com/us/app/spotify-music-and-podcasts/id324684580`
- 🔎 **Search:** top apps for any keyword (up to 200 per term)
- ⭐ **App details:** score, ratings, 1–5 star histogram, score for the current version, top-chart position, price, version, release notes, release and update dates, content rating, minimum iOS, size, languages, developer, icon and screenshots
- 💬 **Reviews:** title, text, stars, date, edited flag, developer response and response date
- 🧹 **Review sort and filters:** most recent, most helpful, most favorable or most critical; filter by stars and by date (`reviewsSince`)
- 💸 **Cheap daily monitoring:** with *Most recent* plus `reviewsSince`, a run stops as soon as it reaches older reviews
- 🌍 **Any storefront:** us, gb, de, jp, br and 170+ more
- 🕶️ **Anonymize option** that leaves out reviewer nicknames

### Input example

```json
{
  "appIds": ["324684580", "https://apps.apple.com/us/app/duolingo-language-lessons/id570060128"],
### Pricing
Pay only for what you get: a small fee per run start, a fee **per app** and a much smaller fee **per review**. Proxy costs are included.
### FAQ
**How many reviews can I get?** Reviews are per storefront. Popular apps have tens of thousands in the US store. Run one country at a time; the `country` field sets it.
**Why filter stars after download?** Apple offers no star filter. For negative reviews, the *Most critical* order returns 1-star reviews first, so combining it with a 1–2 star filter is fast.
**Is this legal?** The Actor collects only publicly visible store listings and reviews, without logins. Reviews include the reviewer's public nickname unless you enable `anonymizeReviewers`. You are responsible for handling the data in line with applicable laws (such as GDPR) and Apple's terms.
**Something broke?** Open an issue on the Issues tab. We monitor the Actor daily and usually respond within 24 hours.
# Actor input Schema
## `appIds` (type: `array`):
Numeric App Store ids such as "324684580", or apps.apple.com URLs.
## `searchTerms` (type: `array`):
Find apps by keyword, e.g. "vpn", "budget planner". Top results are scraped.
## `maxAppsPerSearch` (type: `integer`):
Up to 200.
## `includeAppDetails` (type: `boolean`):
Output one record per app with rating, 1-5 star histogram, chart position, price, version, developer and more.
## `maxReviewsPerApp` (type: `integer`):
0 = no reviews. Apple serves thousands of reviews per app and country.
## `reviewSort` (type: `string`):
Order in which Google returns reviews.
## `reviewStars` (type: `array`):
Leave empty for all. Apple has no star filter, so reviews are filtered after download; combine 1-2 stars with 'Most critical' order for fast results.
## `reviewsSince` (type: `string`):
YYYY-MM-DD. With 'Most recent' the run stops as soon as it reaches older reviews, which keeps daily monitoring cheap.
## `anonymizeReviewers` (type: `boolean`):
Leave out reviewer nicknames.
## `country` (type: `string`):
App Store storefront, e.g. us, gb, de, jp, br. Reviews and prices are per country.
## `proxyConfiguration` (type: `object`):
Apify Proxy exits from the selected country. Datacenter proxy (the default) is fast and included in the price.
