## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Hiring Signals — Companies Hiring for Your Target Roles

A company that just opened three **data engineer** roles is building a data team, and it is about to buy data tools. One hiring a **controller** is about to buy finance software. Hiring is one of the strongest buying signals in B2B sales.

This Actor watches a list of companies' job boards and tells you **which ones are hiring for the roles you care about**, how many, and **what's new since your last run**. One row per company, ready for your CRM or outreach list.

Works with company boards on **Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby, Workable, SmartRecruiters and Recruitee**, read from their official public job feeds. No login, no proxies.

**$10 per 1,000 company signals** ($0.01 per company reported). Companies with no matching roles cost nothing.

### Who uses it

- **SDRs and account executives** prioritizing accounts that are hiring the team that buys their product
- **Agencies and recruiters** spotting companies scaling a function before the roles hit LinkedIn
- **Investors and analysts** tracking which portfolio companies are growing which teams
- **RevOps** feeding hiring signals into HubSpot, Salesforce or Clay via Make, n8n or Zapier

### Input

```json
{
  "companies": [
    "https://boards.greenhouse.io/stripe",
    "https://jobs.lever.co/palantir",
    "https://jobs.ashbyhq.com/ramp",
    "greenhouse:airbnb",
    "figma"
  ],
  "roleKeywords": ["data engineer", "analytics engineer", "data platform"],
  "locations": ["United States", "Remote"],
  "minMatchingRoles": 1,
  "onlyCompaniesWithNewRoles": false,
  "monitorName": "data-team-buyers"
}
```

### Output (one row per company)

```json
{
  "company": "Ramp",
  "ats": "Ashby",
  "signal": "Strong",
  "matchingRoles": 7,
  "newMatchingRoles": 2,
  "openJobsTotal": 142,
  "matchingShare": 0.049,
  "matchingTitles": ["Data Engineer", "Senior Data Engineer, Platform", "…"],
  "newTitles": ["Staff Data Engineer"],
  "topDepartments": [{"department": "Engineering", "roles": 7}],
  "topLocations": [{"location": "New York, NY (HQ)", "roles": 5}],
  "remoteRoles": 2,
  "newestPostedAt": "2026-10-21T14:02:11+00:00",
  "salaryMin": 180000,
  "salaryMax": 290600,
  "salaryCurrency": "USD",
  "jobLinks": ["https://jobs.ashbyhq.com/ramp/…"]
}
```

**Signal**: Strong = 5+ matching roles, Medium = 2–4, Weak = 1.

### Run it as a weekly alert

1. Add your target accounts and role keywords, give it a **Monitor name**, and **Save as a new task**.
2. Turn on **Only companies with new matching roles**. The first run records today's roles; later runs report only companies that posted new ones.
3. Add a **Schedule** (daily or weekly) and connect Slack, email, Google Sheets or your CRM.

Need every job instead of a per-company summary? Use the companion Actor **Company Jobs Scraper** by the same author.

### Notes

Reads only public job postings that companies publish for applicants. Not affiliated with Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby, Workable, SmartRecruiters or Recruitee.
