## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## New Business Registrations Feed — New LLC & Corporation Leads

Get a daily list of **brand-new businesses** — LLCs, corporations, nonprofits, partnerships and DBAs — straight from official **state business registries**. Each record has the business name, type, registration date, address, registered agent and, where the state publishes them, **owner/officer names, business email and NAICS industry code**.

Schedule it daily and it returns **only businesses you haven't seen yet**. No account, login or API key needed.

### States covered

| State | Updated | Extra fields |
|---|---|---|
| **New York** | Daily | County, registered agent, chairman/CEO (when filed), service-of-process address |
| **Colorado** | Daily | Principal address, registered agent, entity status |
| **Connecticut** | Daily | **Business email**, **NAICS industry**, woman/veteran/minority-owned flags |
| **Oregon** | Monthly | **Owners, members, managers and officers by name**, DBAs (assumed business names) |

About **1,000+ new businesses per day** across the three daily states.

### Who uses this

- **Business service providers** — accountants, bookkeepers, insurance agents, banks, payroll, web designers, sign shops, merchant services — who sell to businesses in their first weeks
- **Lead-gen agencies and marketers** building fresh B2B lists for direct mail and outreach
- **Local-market watchers** — which new restaurants, contractors or clinics are opening in a city or ZIP
- **CRMs and automations** (Make, n8n, Zapier, Google Sheets) that need a clean daily feed

### Output (one row per business)

```json
{
  "state": "CT",
  "entityId": "3537650",
  "name": "Quik Travel Staffing, Inc",
  "category": "Corporation",
  "entityType": "Stock",
  "formedIn": "CALIFORNIA",
  "registrationDate": "2026-10-21",
  "status": "Active",
  "address": "2000 W Magnolia Blvd Ste 100",
  "city": "BURBANK",
  "firstSeen": "2026-10-22"
}
```

Oregon records include `people`, e.g. `[{"role": "Member", "name": "JANE DOE", "address": "..."}]`.

### Example inputs

**New roofing, plumbing and HVAC companies in Colorado:**

```json
{ "states": ["CO"], "nameKeywords": ["roof", "plumb", "hvac", "heating"], "monitorName": "co-trades" }
```

**Every new domestic LLC in Brooklyn and Queens:**

```json
{ "states": ["NY"], "categories": ["LLC"], "domesticOrForeign": "domestic", "counties": ["Kings", "Queens"], "monitorName": "nyc-llcs" }
```

**Connecticut new businesses with an email address (for outreach):**

```json
{ "states": ["CT"], "requireEmail": true, "inStateAddressOnly": true, "monitorName": "ct-email" }
```

### Set it up as a daily lead feed

1. Pick your states and filters, give it a **Monitor name**, and **Save as a new task**.
2. Add a **Schedule** — every morning works well.
3. Connect **Google Sheets, email, Slack, Make, n8n or Zapier** to receive new businesses automatically.

### Pricing

**$4 per 1,000 businesses returned** ($0.004 each). You only pay for records in your results. Set a maximum cost per run and the Actor stops cleanly when it's reached.

### Notes

- Data comes from each state's official open-data portal (Socrata) at run time.
- "Only new" remembers results for 60 days per monitor name. Turn it off to get the full window every time.
- Registered-agent addresses are often a filing service, not the business itself; the business address field is used wherever the state provides it.
- Use the data in line with applicable marketing laws (CAN-SPAM, TCPA, state rules). Not affiliated with any state government.

# Actor input Schema

## `states` (type: `array`):

Which state registries to pull from. NY, CO and CT update daily; OR updates about once a month.

## `postedWithinDays` (type: `integer`):

How far back to look. For Oregon (monthly data) the window counts back from the newest date Oregon has published.

## `categories` (type: `array`):

Leave empty for all types.

## `domesticOrForeign` (type: `string`):

Domestic = formed in that state (usually brand-new businesses). Foreign = an out-of-state company registering to do business there.

## `nameKeywords` (type: `array`):

Only businesses whose name contains one of these words, e.g. roofing, dental, construction, cafe. Case-insensitive.

## `excludeNameKeywords` (type: `array`):

Skip names with these words, e.g. holdings, properties, trust.

## `cities` (type: `array`):

Business address city, e.g. Denver, Brooklyn.

## `requireEmail` (type: `boolean`):

## `onlyNew` (type: `boolean`):

Remember what earlier runs returned (per monitor name) and skip it. Schedule daily to get a clean stream of fresh leads.

## `monitorName` (type: `string`):

Separate memory per saved search, e.g. roofing-colorado.

## `maxResults` (type: `integer`):

Upper limit on businesses returned in one run.
