## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## New USPTO Trademark Filings Feed — Daily Leads & Brand Watch

Get every **new US trademark application** filed in the last few days — filtered by class, keyword, applicant state and attorney status — with the owner's name, entity type and parsed address. Schedule it daily and it returns **only filings you haven't seen yet**.

Over 10,000 new applications hit the USPTO every week. This Actor turns that firehose into a clean, filtered feed.

### Who it's for

- **Trademark attorneys & IP firms** — find applicants who filed **without an attorney** (≈30% of filings) and may need help with office actions.
- **Brand designers, web developers & marketing agencies** — new brands launching in your niche or state, days after they file.
- **Business service providers** — insurance, accounting, packaging, manufacturers and printers selling to new product brands.
- **Brand owners** — watch your class or keywords for new filings that could conflict with your mark.
- **Market researchers** — see which product categories are getting new brands.

### What you get for each filing

| Field | Example |
|---|---|
| Mark, serial number, filed date | OUTER BEING, 50162011, 2026-10-19 |
| Classes and goods/services | IC 025: T-shirts; Hats |
| Filing basis | Intent to use (1b) |
| Owner name, entity type, DBA | Outer Being LLC, LIMITED LIABILITY COMPANY |
| Parsed address | 4539 N 22nd St, Ste N · Phoenix · AZ · 85016 · UNITED STATES |
| Attorney + **selfFiled** flag | null → `selfFiled: true` |
| Link to the official USPTO record | tsdr.uspto.gov |

### Example inputs

**Self-filed applicants in Texas and Arkansas (attorney lead feed):**

```json
{ "ownerStates": ["TX", "AR"], "selfFiledOnly": true, "monitorName": "tx-ar-self-filed" }
```

**New clothing brands (class 25) for a print shop or apparel manufacturer:**

```json
{ "classes": ["25"], "usOwnersOnly": true, "monitorName": "apparel-brands" }
```

**Brand watch — new filings mentioning "coffee" in food & restaurant classes:**

```json
{ "keywords": ["coffee"], "classes": ["30", "43"], "monitorName": "coffee-watch" }
```

### Set it up as a daily feed

1. Fill in your filters and a **Monitor name**, then **Save as a new task**.
2. Add a **Schedule** (e.g. every weekday morning).
3. Send results to **Google Sheets, a CRM, Slack, email, Make, Zapier or n8n** with an integration.

### Pricing

**$5 per 1,000 filings returned** ($0.005 each). Runs that find nothing new cost almost nothing. Set a maximum cost per run and the Actor stops cleanly when it's reached.

### Notes

- Data comes live from the USPTO's public trademark search at run time. New applications typically appear 1–2 days after filing.
- Addresses are the applicant's address of record as published by the USPTO. Emails and phone numbers are not included.
- If you contact applicants, follow applicable rules (CAN-SPAM, state bar rules on attorney solicitation, etc.).
- Not affiliated with the USPTO.

# Actor input Schema

## `filedWithinDays` (type: `integer`):

Look back this many days for new applications (1–90). USPTO usually publishes filings within 1–2 days.

## `classes` (type: `array`):

Only filings in these international classes, e.g. 25 (clothing), 30 (coffee/food), 35 (retail/advertising), 9 (software), 41 (education/entertainment), 42 (SaaS), 43 (restaurants). Leave empty for all.

## `keywords` (type: `array`):

Only filings whose mark or goods/services description contains one of these words or phrases (e.g. coffee, skincare, fitness app). Leave empty for all.

## `ownerStates` (type: `array`):

Two-letter US state codes of the applicant's address, e.g. TX, CA, AR. Leave empty for all.

## `selfFiledOnly` (type: `boolean`):

Only applicants who filed without an attorney — the best leads for trademark attorneys, brand designers and business services.

## `usOwnersOnly` (type: `boolean`):

Skip applicants located outside the United States.

## `onlyNew` (type: `boolean`):

Remember filings you've already received and return only new ones. Turn on and schedule daily for a lead feed.

## `monitorName` (type: `string`):

Separate 'already seen' memory for each saved search (e.g. 'tx-self-filed', 'class-25-watch').

## `liveOnly` (type: `boolean`):

Skip applications that are already dead (abandoned).

## `maxResults` (type: `integer`):

Maximum filings to return per run. You pay per filing returned.
