## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## App Store Scraper – iOS App Search, Details & Top Charts

Get Apple App Store app data as clean JSON, in 150+ countries: search results by keyword, details for any app ID, and the Top Free / Top Paid iPhone charts.

> Unofficial tool. Not affiliated with or endorsed by Apple. Uses Apple's public search and chart feeds. No user reviews or personal data.

### What you get per app

Name, app ID, bundle ID, developer, category, price, average rating, rating count (all versions and current version), version, release notes, last update date, release date, size, minimum iOS, content rating, languages, description, icon and screenshots, plus its **position** in the search or chart.

### Why this one

- **Fast and stable**: official public endpoints, no browser, no proxy. Hundreds of apps in seconds.
- **ASO ready**: search positions per keyword and country, so you can track rankings over time.
- **Many countries in one run**: `["us","gb","de","jp","in"]`.
- **Cheap**: $1 per 1,000 apps, failed lookups are not charged.

### Use cases

- ASO keyword rank tracking and competitor monitoring (ratings, updates, price changes).
- Market research: who leads a category in each country.
- Lead lists of app publishers by category (company names and websites only).
- Daily Top Charts dashboards and alerts.

### n8n, Make and Zapier

- **n8n**: Schedule Trigger (daily) → HTTP Request `POST https://api.apify.com/v2/acts/realletoangt~appstore-apps-scraper/run-sync-get-dataset-items` (header `Authorization: Bearer <token>`, body `{"searchTerms":["your keyword"],"countries":["us"]}`) → Google Sheets append → alert if your `position` drops.
- **Make**: Apify "Run an Actor" → Iterator → Airtable "Create a record".
- **Zapier**: Schedule → Apify "Run Actor" → Slack message with today's top 10.

### AI agents (MCP)

Available through the Apify MCP server (`mcp.apify.com`). Minimal input: `{"searchTerms":["budget app"]}`. Agents can compare competitors by rating, rating count and last update.
