## Pricing

from $6.80 / 1,000 url auditeds

This Actor is paid per event. You are not charged for the Apify platform usage, but only a fixed price for specific events.
Since this Actor supports Apify Store discounts, the price gets lower the higher subscription plan you have.

## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Bulk On-Page SEO Audit: Score & Issues per URL

Audit any list of URLs for **on-page SEO** in one run. Each page gets a **score, a grade and a list of issues**: title, meta description, H1, canonical, noindex, image alt text, structured data, mobile viewport, HTTPS, redirects and more. The rules are fixed and published below, so every score is explainable and repeatable.

### What is the Bulk On-Page SEO Audit?

Most SEO audit tools charge monthly for a crawler you may not need. This Actor does the on-page part for exactly the URLs you give it and charges per URL. It fetches each page like a browser, measures it, applies the rules below, and returns one row per page that you can sort and filter in a spreadsheet or feed into a dashboard.

### What makes it different?

- **Transparent scoring.** Every issue lists its code, severity and points, and the score is 100 minus those points. No mystery number.
- **Every row has the measurements**, not only the verdict: title length, description length, H1 count, word count, images without alt, links, structured data types and more.
- **Redirects and failures handled.** The final URL, redirect count and response time are recorded, and pages that fail to load get a clear reason instead of a blank row.
- **Safe by design.** The Actor refuses to fetch private or internal addresses.

### What data does the audit return?

| Field | Example |
|---|---|
| `url, finalUrl, status, redirects` | `https://example.com`, the final URL, `200`, `1` |
| `score, grade, errors, warnings` | `72`, `C`, `0`, `5` |
| `issues` | `[{ code: 'H1_MULTIPLE', severity: 'warning', points: 3, message: '5 <h1> headings…' }]` |
| `title, titleLength, metaDescription, canonical` | the page's own values |
| `h1Count, wordCount, images, imagesMissingAlt` | `5`, `612`, `14`, `3` |
| `internalLinks, externalLinks, nofollowLinks` | link counts |
| `structuredDataTypes, openGraph, hreflang` | JSON-LD types, which OG tags exist, language alternates |

A `SUMMARY` record shows how many URLs were audited, the grade distribution and how many could not be fetched.

### The scoring rules

| Rule | Severity | Points off | What it checks |
|---|---|---|---|
| `TITLE_MISSING` | error | 15 | No `<title>` |
| `TITLE_TOO_LONG` | warning | 3 | Title over 60 characters |
| `TITLE_TOO_SHORT` | warning | 3 | Title under 20 characters |
| `META_DESCRIPTION_MISSING` | warning | 8 | No meta description |
| `META_DESCRIPTION_TOO_LONG` | warning | 2 | Over 160 characters |
| `META_DESCRIPTION_TOO_SHORT` | info | 1 | Under 70 characters |
| `H1_MISSING` | warning | 8 | No `<h1>` |
| `H1_MULTIPLE` | warning | 3 | More than one `<h1>` |
| `CANONICAL_MISSING` | warning | 4 | No canonical link |
| `NOINDEX` | error | 25 | `noindex` in meta robots or X-Robots-Tag |
| `VIEWPORT_MISSING` | warning | 6 | No viewport meta tag |
| `LANG_MISSING` | warning | 3 | No `lang` on `<html>` |
| `THIN_CONTENT` | warning | 5 | Under 300 words of visible text |
| `IMAGES_MISSING_ALT` | warning | 1 each, max 8 | Images with no `alt` attribute |
| `OPEN_GRAPH_MISSING` | info | 2 | No Open Graph title or image |
| `STRUCTURED_DATA_NONE` | info | 1 | No JSON-LD |
| `NOT_HTTPS` | warning | 6 | Final URL is not HTTPS |
| `REDIRECT_CHAIN` | warning | 3 | More than 2 redirects |
| `SLOW_RESPONSE` | warning | 3 | Server took over 2 seconds |

A page that cannot be fetched (HTTP error, network failure, not HTML) scores 0 with a single error explaining why. Informational rules such as `CANONICAL_DIFFERENT` are listed without points.

### How to run a bulk SEO audit

1. Paste your URLs, one per line. The `https://` is optional.
2. Click **Start**.
3. Sort by grade or score to find the weakest pages, and read the `issues` column for exactly what to fix.
4. Download JSON, CSV or Excel, or schedule the Actor and send results to Google Sheets, Slack, Make, n8n or Zapier.

```json
{
    "urls": [
        "https://www.python.org/",
        "https://example.com/"
    ]
}
```

- **urls**: any public web pages. Redirects are followed.
- **concurrency**: how many pages are fetched at once. Keep it low for small sites.
- **maxUrls**: a safety cap on how many are audited.

### How much does a bulk SEO audit cost?

You pay per URL audited returned plus a very small start fee. There is no subscription.

| URLs | Approximate cost |
|---|---|
| 10 | $0.08 |
| 100 | $0.80 |
| 1,000 | $8 |
| 5,000 | $40 |

Paid Apify plans get tiered discounts, and you can set a maximum cost per run. You can try it on Apify's free plan without a card.

### Who is it for?

- **SEO consultants and agencies** auditing client pages quickly.
- **In-house marketers** checking launch pages and campaign landing pages.
- **Developers** adding an SEO check to a release process.
- **Content teams** finding pages with missing titles, descriptions or H1s.

### Frequently asked questions

**Does it crawl my whole site?** No. It audits exactly the URLs you give it. To audit a site, list its URLs (from a sitemap, for example).

**Does it run JavaScript?** No. It reads the HTML the server returns, the same thing most crawlers see first. Pages that only build their content in the browser will look thin.

**Why is a measured response time slow?** It is measured from the data centre running the Actor, so it includes that distance. Use it to compare pages, not as a Core Web Vitals score.

**Is the score a ranking prediction?** No. It is a checklist of on-page basics. A high score does not guarantee rankings and a low one does not prevent them.

**What happens when a page fails to load?** It gets a row with grade F and a clear reason (HTTP error, network failure or not an HTML page).

### Notes and limits

- The Actor identifies itself like an ordinary browser and does not read robots.txt for pages you explicitly list. Only audit sites you are allowed to.
- Internal and private network addresses are blocked.
