## Pricing

from $0.43 / 1,000 reviews

This Actor is paid per event. You are not charged for the Apify platform usage, but only a fixed price for specific events.
Since this Actor supports Apify Store discounts, the price gets lower the higher subscription plan you have.

## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

## Google Play Reviews Scraper: Multi-Language, Only New Since Last Run

Collect user reviews for any Android app on [Google Play](https://play.google.com): by star rating, in several languages in one run, and, for scheduled monitoring, **only the reviews that are new since the last run**. No proxy, no login, no browser. It runs on 256 MB, so it is cheap.

### What is the Google Play Reviews Scraper?

It is an Apify Actor that returns structured Google Play reviews with the app version each review was written about, helpful-vote counts and developer replies. Use it to watch what users say after each release, mine a competitor's 1 and 2 star reviews for feature gaps, or feed support, product and sentiment pipelines on a schedule.

### Why does it use languages instead of countries?

Google Play shows a *different set of reviews for each language* and almost the same set for every country. We measured 92 to 100 percent overlap between five store countries, and none between English and German. A country list mostly returns duplicates you would pay for twice. This Actor sweeps **languages**, which is what actually adds reviews.

### What data can you extract from Google Play reviews?

| Field | Example |
|---|---|
| `rating` | `1` |
| `date` | `2026-10-16T08:11:02.494Z` |
| `text`, `title` | the review |
| `version` | the app version the review refers to |
| `thumbsUp` | helpful votes |
| `developerReply`, `developerReplyDate` | the developer's response, if any |
| `appId`, `lang`, `country`, `id`, `url`, `scrapedAt` | for joins and deduplication |

A `SUMMARY` record holds each app's title, developer, average score, total ratings, latest version and how many reviews each language returned. Reviewer names are **off by default**: they are personal data and most analysis does not need them.

### How to scrape Google Play reviews

1. Paste package names (`com.whatsapp`) or Play Store URLs into **Apps**.
2. Add the review languages you want, for example `en`, `de`, `es`.
3. Optionally keep only some star ratings, for example 1 and 2.
4. Turn on **Only reviews new since the last run** if you will schedule the Actor.
5. Click **Start** and download JSON, CSV or Excel, or connect it to Make, n8n, Zapier, Slack or Google Sheets.

```json
{
    "apps": ["com.whatsapp", "https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.spotify.music"],
    "languages": ["en", "de", "es"],
    "ratings": ["1", "2"],
    "maxReviewsPerLanguage": 500,
    "onlyNew": true
}
```

### How do I get only new Google Play reviews?

Turn on `onlyNew` and schedule the Actor. It remembers the newest review it returned for each app and language and returns only newer ones on the next run. You are never charged twice for the same review. Sort must be newest first for this option.

### How much does it cost to scrape Google Play reviews?

You pay per review returned plus a very small start fee. No subscription.

| Reviews | Approximate cost |
|---|---|
| 1,000 | $0.50 |
| 10,000 | $5 |
| 100,000 | $50 |

Star-only reviews with no text are skipped by default so you are not charged for them. Paid Apify plans get tiered discounts, and you can set a maximum cost per run. You can try it on Apify's free plan without a card.

### Frequently asked questions

**Does it need a proxy?** No. It reads Google Play's public pages and is built on the maintained open-source `google-play-scraper` library, so when Google changes its format the fix is usually a version bump.

**How many reviews can I get?** As many as the app has, up to your cap. A test pulled 3,000 reviews in about 8 seconds.

**What if Google changes its format?** The run fails with an explicit error instead of returning empty data, and the Actor is health-checked every night.

**Does it cover Apple's App Store?** No. Apple's public review feed no longer returns data.

**Is it legal?** It reads publicly visible pages. Review text belongs to its authors and to Google, so check that your use complies with Google's terms and applicable law.

# Actor input Schema

## `apps` (type: `array`):

Package names such as <code>com.whatsapp</code>, or <code>play.google.com</code> app URLs.

## `languages` (type: `array`):

Two-letter language codes, for example <code>en</code>, <code>de</code>, <code>es</code>. Google Play shows different reviews per language and almost identical reviews across countries, so adding languages is how you get more reviews.

## `country` (type: `string`):

Two-letter store country used for app details. Reviews barely change with it.

## `sort` (type: `string`):

Newest first is required for the "only new" and "since" options to stop early.

## `ratings` (type: `array`):

Keep only these star ratings. Use 1 and 2 for complaints. Leave empty for all.

## `maxReviewsPerLanguage` (type: `integer`):

Stops after this many matching reviews for each app in each country.

## `textOnly` (type: `boolean`):

Many users leave stars with no text. On by default so you are not charged for empty reviews.

## `onlyNew` (type: `boolean`):

Remembers the newest review it returned for each app and country and returns only newer ones next time. Ideal for scheduled runs. Works with newest-first sort.

## `since` (type: `string`):

Skip reviews older than this date. Optional.

## `includeAuthorNames` (type: `boolean`):

Off by default: reviewer names are personal data and most analysis does not need them.

```
# Actor output Schema
## `reviews` (type: `string`):
One item per review: rating, date, text, version, thumbsUp, developerReply, country, lang, appId, id, url, scrapedAt.
## `summary` (type: `string`):
For each requested app: title, developer, average score, total ratings, version, and how many reviews each language returned.
