## Pricing

from $4.25 / 1,000 store checkeds

This Actor is paid per event. You are not charged for the Apify platform usage, but only a fixed price for specific events.
Since this Actor supports Apify Store discounts, the price gets lower the higher subscription plan you have.

## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

## Shopify Store App Detector: Apps, Theme & Products

Find out **which apps and theme a Shopify store uses**, plus its **published product count, country and currency**. Give it a list of store domains and get one row per store: is it Shopify, what theme, what apps (with the evidence for each), and how big is the catalog. It reads public pages only, so no login and no access to anyone's account.

### What is the Shopify Store App Detector?

Shopify app developers, agencies and analysts constantly ask "which stores use Klaviyo?" or "what is this store running?". The answer is partly visible in a store's public HTML: apps that add scripts to the storefront leave traces. This Actor reads those traces in two ways. Modern Shopify apps load through *app embeds* served from `cdn.shopify.com/extensions/<id>/<app>-<n>/`, and the folder name identifies the app, so the Actor reads them generically with no hand-made list. On top of that it recognises well-known third-party scripts such as Klaviyo, Yotpo, Judge.me and Gorgias, with a category for each.

### What makes it different?

- **Evidence for every app.** Each detected app lists how it was found (`app-embed` or `known-script`) and the exact reference, so you can verify it.
- **Generic app-embed detection.** New and niche apps are found without waiting for anyone to add them to a list.
- **Store facts in the same row.** Name, country, currency and published product count from the public `meta.json`, plus theme name and Theme Store id.
- **Lead filters.** Keep only stores using specific apps (for example a competitor of yours), and skip non-Shopify domains. Filtered-out stores are not charged.
- **Honest limits.** Blocked sites are reported as blocked, not bypassed, and apps that leave no trace in the HTML cannot be seen.

### What data does the detector return?

| Field | Example |
|---|---|
| `domain, isShopify, signals` | `colourpop.com`, `true`, `['Shopify.theme', …]` |
| `shopName, country, city, currency` | `ColourPop`, `US`, `Oxnard`, `USD` |
| `publishedProductCount, shipsToCountries` | `842`, `190` |
| `theme` | `{ name: 'Colourpop/Main', id, themeStoreId, role }` |
| `apps` | `[{ name: 'Klaviyo', category: 'email', source: 'known-script', evidence }, { name: 'swish-wishlist-king', source: 'app-embed' }]` |
| `appCount, appCategories, appEmbeds` | `7`, `{ email: 1, reviews: 1 }`, `3` |
| `scriptHosts` | third-party hosts that load scripts |
| `reachable, httpStatus, reason` | whether the site could be read, and why not |

A `SUMMARY` record shows how many domains were checked and how many are Shopify stores, other sites or unreachable.

### What it can and cannot see

**Can see:** apps that add scripts or app embeds to the storefront (reviews, email and SMS popups, chat, consent banners, pixels, search, returns widgets, subscriptions, loyalty).

**Cannot see:** apps that only run in the admin, at checkout, in emails, or server-side, apps that load after a user action, and any app on a store that blocks automated requests. Treat the list as a lower bound.

Known-script categories: reviews, email, sms, subscriptions, loyalty, support, consent, analytics, pixel, payments, returns, search.

### How to find which apps a Shopify store uses

1. Paste store domains, one per line.
2. Optionally keep only stores using certain apps, or only Shopify stores.
3. Click **Start**.
4. Download JSON, CSV or Excel, or call the Actor from the API, a schedule, Make, n8n or Zapier.

```json
{
    "domains": [
        "colourpop.com",
        "tentree.com",
        "steveharvey.com"
    ]
}
```

- **mustUseApps**: names like `klaviyo` or `judgeme`. Matches known apps and app-embed names, ignoring punctuation.
- **shopifyOnly**: skips non-Shopify and unreachable domains without charging.
- **includeMeta**: adds store name, location and product count.

### How much does Shopify store detection cost?

You pay per store checked returned plus a very small start fee. There is no subscription.

| Stores | Approximate cost |
|---|---|
| 10 | $0.05 |
| 100 | $0.50 |
| 1,000 | $5 |
| 5,000 | $25 |

Paid Apify plans get tiered discounts, and you can set a maximum cost per run. You can try it on Apify's free plan without a card.

### Who is it for?

- **Shopify app developers** finding stores that use a competitor's app.
- **Agencies and consultants** researching a prospect's stack before a pitch.
- **Analysts** sizing a segment by product count, country and theme.
- **Investors** studying how a brand's storefront is built.

### Frequently asked questions

**Does it find every installed app?** No. It finds apps that leave a trace in the storefront HTML. Admin-only, checkout-only and server-side apps are invisible, so the count is a lower bound.

**Why do some stores come back unreachable?** Some stores sit behind bot protection and refuse automated requests (HTTP 403 or 429). The Actor reports that and does not try to get around it.

**Where does the product count come from?** The store's public `/meta.json`, which Shopify exposes for most stores. It can be missing for stores that disabled it.

**How do you know a site is Shopify?** From the inline Shopify config, Shopify CDN paths, checkout token meta tag or Shopify response headers. The evidence is listed in `signals`.

**Is this allowed?** It reads publicly visible pages at a gentle pace. Check that your use of the data complies with applicable law and each store's terms.

### Notes and limits

- Only public pages and `/meta.json` are read. No emails, customer data or admin access.
- Requests are paced and concurrency is capped at 6 so as not to burden stores.

# Actor input Schema

## `domains` (type: `array`):

Store domains or page URLs, one per line, for example <code>allbirds.com</code>. Non-Shopify sites are reported as such.

## `mustUseApps` (type: `array`):

Optional filter. Keep only stores where at least one of these apps is detected, for example <code>klaviyo</code>, <code>judgeme</code> or <code>recharge</code>. Matching ignores punctuation. Other stores are not returned or charged.

## `shopifyOnly` (type: `boolean`):

Skip (and do not charge for) domains that are not Shopify stores or could not be reached.

## `includeMeta` (type: `boolean`):

Reads the store's public <code>/meta.json</code> for its name, city, country, currency and published product count.

## `maxDomains` (type: `integer`):

Safety cap.

## `concurrency` (type: `integer`):

How many stores to check at once. Keep it low: stores are real businesses.

```
# Actor output Schema
## `results` (type: `string`):
One row per domain: whether it is Shopify, store facts, theme, and the apps detected with evidence.
## `summary` (type: `string`):
How many domains were checked and how many are Shopify stores, not Shopify, or unreachable.
