## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Google News Scraper Pro: real article URLs, day-by-day dates, source filters

Pull every Google News article for any keyword, `site:` search or headline topic, with the **real publisher article URL decoded** (not the useless `news.google.com/rss/articles/...` redirect), the publisher, its domain and the exact publish time. Set a date range and the actor searches **one day at a time**, so you get up to 100 articles per day instead of Google's 100-per-search ceiling.

**$2.50 per 1,000 articles, real URLs included.** Rows your filters remove are never billed.

### Why this one

| Actor | Price per 1,000 on the free plan |
|---|---|
| **Google News Scraper Pro** | **$2.50**, real URL decoding included |
| data_xplorer/google-news-scraper-fast | $4.00 |
| easyapi/google-news-scraper | $5.00 + $0.09 per run |

What you get on every run:

- **Real publisher URL** decoded for every row, at no extra charge
- **Day-by-day date slicing** past Google's 100-results-per-search ceiling
- **Source include/exclude** and **title keyword** filters that run before billing
- **Duplicate removal** across queries and days
- Any Google News edition by language and country, plus headline topics

### Input

| Field | Type | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| `queries` | list | Keywords or Google News operators: `openai`, `"electric vehicles" tesla`, `site:reuters.com tariffs` |
| `topics` | list | Headline sections: WORLD, NATION, BUSINESS, TECHNOLOGY, ENTERTAINMENT, SPORTS, SCIENCE, HEALTH |
| `language` / `country` | text | Edition, e.g. `en` + `US`, `es` + `MX`, `de` + `DE` |
| `timeRange` | select | Past hour, 24 hours, 7 days, 30 days, year |
| `dateFrom` / `dateTo` | YYYY-MM-DD | Exact window, searched day by day (up to 100 articles per day per query) |
| `resolveUrls` | boolean | Decode the real article URL (default on, no extra charge) |
| `includeSources` / `excludeSources` | list | Keep or drop publishers by domain or name |
| `mustIncludeKeywords` / `excludeKeywords` | list | Title must or must not contain these words |
| `maxItems` | number | Hard cap on saved and billed articles (default 10) |

```json
{
  "queries": ["openai", "site:reuters.com nvidia"],
  "dateFrom": "2026-09-01",
  "dateTo": "2026-09-30",
  "excludeSources": ["yahoo.com"],
  "maxItems": 2000
}
```

### Output

| Field | Example |
|---|---|

| `publisher` | `Reuters` |
| `publisherDomain` | `reuters.com` |
| `articleUrl` | `https://www.reuters.com/business/openais-altman-says-ai-benefits-warrant-accepting-some-risks-2026-10-04/` |
| `googleNewsUrl` | `https://news.google.com/rss/articles/CBMi...` |
| `publishedAt` | `2026-10-04T14:12:00.000Z` |
| `guid` | Google's stable article id, handy for dedupe |
| `language`, `country`, `scrapedAt` | edition and fetch time |

### Pricing

Pay per event, no subscription:

- **Actor start:** $0.005 per run
- **Article:** $0.0025 per saved article ($2.50 per 1,000), real URL decoding included

Articles dropped by your source, keyword or duplicate filters cost nothing. `maxItems` is a hard ceiling on what you pay.

### Use cases

- **Media monitoring and PR:** every mention of a brand, CEO or product per day, with the real link for clipping reports.
- **Sentiment and LLM pipelines:** clean article URLs you can feed straight to a content extractor or RAG index.
- **Market and investment research:** `site:` searches on Reuters, Bloomberg, WSJ for a ticker over a quarter.
- **Competitor tracking:** daily schedule on competitor names, excluding your own domain.
- **Local and international news:** any Google News edition by language and country.

### FAQ

**Why do other scrapers stop at about 100 articles?** Google News returns at most 100 results per search. This actor splits your date range into single days and searches each one, so a 30-day range can return up to 3,000 articles per query.

**What is URL decoding?** Google News wraps every link in an encoded redirect. This actor decodes it to the publisher's own URL so the link works in spreadsheets, CRMs and LLM tools. If a link cannot be decoded, `articleUrl` is null and `googleNewsUrl` is kept.

**Does it scrape the full article text?** No, it returns article metadata and the real URL. Pair it with a content extractor for full text.

**Do I need a proxy?** No. It connects directly and switches to a residential proxy on its own only if Google blocks the feed.

**Can I schedule it?** Yes. Use a short `timeRange` such as `1d` with an Apify schedule for a daily news feed, duplicates are removed within each run.

# Actor input Schema
