## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

## Google Play Reviews Pro

Filtered Google Play reviews for any Android app. Star filters, date ranges, three sort orders, developer replies, review versions and store locales, with up to 20 apps in a single run.

**How it compares:** the category's two leading actors, `thewolves/google-play-reviews-scraper` (4.0 stars, 8 reviews, ~1.9K users) and `theagents/googleplay-reviews` (4.9 stars, 8 reviews, ~714 users), both charge $0.10 per 1,000 reviews and both return unfiltered streams: every star you didn't ask for still lands in your dataset and still counts against the price. Google Play Reviews Pro applies star and date filters before a row is returned, so you pay only for reviews that match, and it adds developer replies, review versions and multi-app runs in one pass.

### Input

| Field | Type | Description |
| --- | --- | --- |
| `appIds` | array | Google Play package names, e.g. `com.spotify.music`, `com.whatsapp`. Up to 20 per run. Find the ID in the store URL after `?id=`. |
| `maxReviews` | integer | Reviews returned per app after filters are applied. Default 10, max 10,000. |
| `sortBy` | select | `most-relevant`, `newest` (default), or `rating`. |
| `stars` | array | Ratings to keep, e.g. `[1, 2]` for critical feedback. Empty returns all ratings. Filtered rows never reach the dataset, so they never appear on the bill. |
| `after` | date | Keep reviews posted on or after this day (`YYYY-MM-DD`). |
| `before` | date | Keep reviews posted before this day (`YYYY-MM-DD`). |
| `language` | text | Store language code, default `en` (`es`, `de`, `ja`, ...). |
| `country` | text | Store country code, default `us` (`gb`, `de`, `jp`, ...). |

### Output

| Field | Description |
| --- | --- |
| `reviewId` | Google Play review ID. |
| `appId` | Package name of the app. |
| `authorName` | Reviewer's display name. |
| `avatarUrl` | Reviewer's avatar image URL. |
| `rating` | Star rating, 1 to 5. |
| `reviewText` | The review's text. |
| `thumbsUpCount` | How many users marked the review helpful. |
| `reviewVersion` | App version the review was written on, where shown. |
| `reviewDate` | Review date, ISO 8601. |
| `replyText` | The developer's reply, when one exists. |
| `repliedAt` | When the developer replied, ISO 8601. |

### Pricing

Pay per event: $0.005 per actor start plus $0.0001 per review returned, that is $0.10 per 1,000 reviews. You are charged only for rows that land in the dataset, never for rows your filters remove.

### Use cases

- **Product and support teams:** pull this week's 1-star reviews across your app portfolio, developer replies included, and answer before churn shows up in ratings.
- **ASO and competitor research:** compare review streams for up to 20 apps in one run, same locale, same window.
- **LLM and analytics pipelines:** clean, dated, versioned review text with rating labels, ready for sentiment analysis or training data.

### FAQ

**Which apps work?**
Any app listed on Google Play, worldwide. Pass the package name from the store URL (`play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=...`).

**Can I get reviews in other languages?**
Yes. Set `language` and `country` to that store's locale and reviews come back the way the store shows them.

**Do filters cost money?**
No. Star and date filters are applied before a row is returned, so the dataset only holds what you asked for and the bill follows the dataset.

**How far back can I go?**
Reviews paginate until `maxReviews` is reached or the app's history runs out. Combine `after` and `before` to target an exact window, for example a release week.

**Can I run several apps at once?**
Yes, up to 20 `appIds` per run. Each app fills its own `maxReviews` quota and rows are tagged with their `appId`.

**No API key needed.** Add the actor and run it.

# Actor input Schema

## `appIds` (type: `array`):

One or more Google Play app IDs (package names), e.g. com.spotify.music, com.whatsapp. Find it in the app's Play Store URL after ?id=.

## `maxReviews` (type: `integer`):

How many reviews to return per app (after filters are applied).

## `sortBy` (type: `string`):

Order in which reviews are fetched.

## `stars` (type: `array`):

Keep only reviews with these star ratings, e.g. \[1, 2] for critical feedback. Leave empty to return all ratings. Filtered rows are removed before the run charges per result, so you never pay for rows you filtered out.

## `after` (type: `string`):

Optional lower bound on the review date, in the app's store country.

## `before` (type: `string`):

Optional upper bound on the review date, in the app's store country.

## `language` (type: `string`):

Store language, e.g. en, es, de, ja. Reviews come back in that store language.

## `country` (type: `string`):

Store country, e.g. us, gb, de, jp.

```
# Actor output Schema
## `results` (type: `string`):
URL to the dataset items: one clean JSON row per review, with rating, text, author, thumbs-up count, app version, review date, and the developer's reply where one exists.
