## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Google Trends Scraper Pro

Google Trends interest-over-time for any keyword, in clean one-row-per-record output: time series points, related queries, and interest by region, for one to 25 keywords per run across any timeframe and search vertical. Built for AI agents, dashboards, and pipelines that need predictable tabular trend data.

### Why this over the alternatives

The Store's default result (apify/google-trends-scraper, rated 3.68 from 32 reviews) is slow on multi-keyword jobs and stops at interest-over-time. The fastest alternative (data_xplorer/google-trends-fast-scraper, 2,357 monthly users) covers timeseries but returns one blob per keyword rather than flat rows. Google Trends Scraper Pro is a focused pull: multi-keyword batching, exact date-tagged points, optional related queries and per-region interest, and a hard row cap so output stays predictable.

| Actor | Rating | Monthly users | Price |
|---|---|---|---|
| Google Trends Scraper Pro | new | new | $1.00 per 1,000 records + $0.005 per run |
| apify/google-trends-scraper | 3.68 (32 reviews) | 2,419 | free |
| data_xplorer/google-trends-fast-scraper | 4.88 (4 reviews) | 2,357 | $0.025 per run |

### Input

| Field | Type | Default | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
| keywords | string list | `["tesla"]` | Search terms to measure. Up to 25 per run, each pulled in its own clean series. |
| geo | string | `US` | Two-letter country code (US, GB, DE, IN), or empty for worldwide interest. |
| timeframes | string list | `["today 1-m"]` | Google Trends windows: `now 1-H`, `now 4-H`, `now 1-d`, `now 7-d`, `today 1-m`, `today 3-m`, `today 12-m`, `today 5-y`, `all`. |
| searchType | select | web | Search vertical: web, news, images, youtube, shopping. |
| category | integer | `0` | Google Trends category ID to narrow the data. |
| includeRelatedQueries | checkbox | false | Add related-query rows per keyword with rank, score, and top vs rising. |
| includeRegions | checkbox | false | Add per-region interest rows (states, provinces, or worldwide countries). |
| maxRows | integer | `500` | Hard cap on total result rows per run, 1 to 5,000. |

### Output

One flat record per data point, tagged with a `type` field:

```json
{"type":"point","keyword":"tesla","geo":"US","timeframe":"today 1-m","date":"2026-10-17","value":64,"isPartial":false}
{"type":"relatedQuery","kind":"top","keyword":"tesla","geo":"US","timeframe":"today 1-m","rank":1,"query":"tesla stock","value":100}
{"type":"region","keyword":"tesla","geo":"US","timeframe":"today 1-m","regionCode":"US-CA","regionName":"California","value":78,"rank":1}
```

### Use cases

- Market and demand research: track interest in products, brands, and topics over time.
- Content and SEO planning: find rising related queries before they peak.
- Agent pipelines: flat rows load straight into a spreadsheet, warehouse, or model context.
- Competitive monitoring: batch up to 25 keywords per run with identical timeframes.

### Pricing

Pay per event: $0.005 per run plus $1.00 per 1,000 result records. A one-month daily series for one keyword is about 30 records. Failed combinations are not billed; you pay only for records returned.

### FAQ

**Which timeframes are supported?** Every Google Trends window: hours (`now 1-H`, `now 4-H`), days (`now 1-d`, `now 7-d`), months (`today 1-m`, `today 3-m`, `today 12-m`), and long horizons (`today 5-y`, `all`).

**Can I compare multiple keywords in one series?** Each keyword is measured in its own series, so every row carries one keyword and values stay comparable across runs. Set a 0 to 100 scale per keyword per timeframe, exactly as Google does.

**What does a "point" row contain?** The normalized interest value for that date or hour, 0 to 100, with an `isPartial` flag on the most recent bucket.

**What if a keyword has no data?** That combination is skipped with no charge. A run fails only when no combination returns data.

**Does it work worldwide?** Yes. Leave the country field empty for worldwide interest, or set `US`, `GB`, `DE`, `IN`, and other country codes.
