## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

## Indeed Jobs Scraper Pro - Salary Filter, Date Window and a Hard Result Cap

Scrape Indeed job listings and get back only the jobs worth looking at. Filter by real salary, by how recently the job was posted, by remote, by job type, and cap the number of results so the bill never surprises you. Jobs your filters remove are never saved and never charged.

Works on 14 Indeed country sites and returns salary as structured numbers, not a string you have to parse yourself.

### What makes this different

| You need | Here | Typical Indeed scraper |
|---|---|---|
| Salary you can sort on | `salaryMin`, `salaryMax`, `salaryPeriod`, hourly and monthly converted to yearly | A raw text string like "$22 an hour" |
| Only recent postings | `datePosted` window of 1, 3, 7 or 14 days | Everything Indeed shows |
| A pay floor | `minSalary`, applied before anything is billed | Filter after you have paid for the rows |
| Remote only | `remoteOnly` toggle | Search-string guesswork |
| Employer quality | `companyRating` and `companyReviewCount` on every job | Not included |
| A predictable bill | `resultsLimit` hard cap per search term | Runs until it runs out |
| Non-US jobs | 14 country sites | US only, or a separate Actor |

### Input

| Field | Type | Description |
|---|---|---|
| `queries` | array | Job titles or keywords. Required. |
| `location` | string | City, state or postcode, e.g. `Austin, TX`. Empty searches nationwide. |
| `country` | string | Indeed country site: `us`, `gb`, `ca`, `au`, `de`, `fr`, `es`, `it`, `nl`, `in`, `ie`, `nz`, `sg`, `za`. |
| `radius` | integer | Miles from the location. Default 25. |
| `resultsLimit` | integer | Hard cap per search term. Default 100. |
| `datePosted` | string | `any`, `1`, `3`, `7` or `14` days. |
| `minSalary` | integer | Yearly floor. Hourly and monthly pay is converted before comparing. |
| `remoteOnly` | boolean | Keep only remote jobs. |
| `jobType` | string | `any`, `fulltime`, `parttime`, `contract`, `temporary`, `internship`. |
| `sortBy` | string | `relevance` or `date`. |
| `proxyConfiguration` | object | Unblocker group by default. Indeed blocks datacenter traffic, so leave this alone. |

Example input:

```json
{
  "queries": ["registered nurse", "nurse practitioner"],
  "location": "Miami, FL",
  "radius": 25,
  "datePosted": "7",
  "minSalary": 80000,
  "jobType": "fulltime",
  "resultsLimit": 200
}
```

### Output

```json
{
  "searchTerm": "software engineer",
  "jobKey": "177a2f345faeafd5",
  "title": "Software Engineer I",
  "company": "Indeed",
  "location": "Austin, TX",
  "city": "Austin",
  "state": "TX",
  "isRemote": false,
  "jobType": "full-time",
  "salaryText": "$94,000 - $142,000 a year",
  "salaryMin": 94000,
  "salaryMax": 142000,
  "salaryPeriod": "yearly",
  "salaryCurrency": "USD",
  "postedAt": "2026-09-15T05:00:00.000Z",
  "postedRelative": "13 days ago",
  "urgentlyHiring": true,
  "easyApply": true,
  "companyRating": 4.1,
  "companyReviewCount": 892,
  "descriptionSnippet": "You'll work closely with other engineers...",
  "url": "https://www.indeed.com/viewjob?jk=177a2f345faeafd5",
  "applyUrl": "http://www.indeed.com/applystart?jk=177a2f345faeafd5",
  "cleanMarkdown": "# Software Engineer I\n**Indeed** - Austin, TX ..."
}
```

`cleanMarkdown` is a ready-to-embed version of each job, so results drop straight into a RAG pipeline or an LLM without writing a formatter.

### Pricing

Pay per result. Jobs removed by your salary, date, remote or job-type filters are never pushed and never billed, so tightening your filters lowers your bill instead of raising it. The end of each run logs how many jobs your filters removed.

### Use cases

- Recruiting: pull every full-time posting above a pay floor in one metro, refreshed daily.
- Salary benchmarking: structured min and max figures across a title and location, ready to average.
- Job boards: mirror a niche vertical with the date window set to the last 24 hours.
- Market research: track hiring volume for a company or role over time.
- Lead generation: find employers actively hiring, with their Indeed rating attached.

### FAQ

**Why does this need the Unblocker proxy?**
Indeed refuses datacenter traffic outright. The Unblocker group is set by default and is what makes the Actor return data at all.

**Does the salary filter drop jobs with no salary?**
Yes. If you set `minSalary`, jobs with no published pay are skipped, because there is nothing to compare.

**Can I search several titles at once?**
Yes. Each entry in `queries` gets its own search and its own result cap, and every record carries the `searchTerm` it came from.

**Which countries work?**
Fourteen Indeed sites, from the US and UK to India, Singapore and South Africa. Set `country`.

**Does it work for AI agents?**
Yes. Set `checkOnly: true` for a capability handshake that returns supported features without scraping.

# Actor input Schema

## `queries` (type: `array`):

Job titles or keywords to search on Indeed, for example "registered nurse" or "python developer".

## `location` (type: `string`):

City, state or postcode to search in, for example "Austin, TX". Leave empty for a nationwide search.

## `country` (type: `string`):

Which Indeed domain to search. Use the two-letter country code, for example us, gb, ca, de, au.

## `radius` (type: `integer`):

How far from the location to search. Ignored when no location is set.

## `resultsLimit` (type: `integer`):

Hard cap on jobs returned for each search term. The run stops there, so your bill is predictable.

## `datePosted` (type: `string`):

Only return jobs posted within this many days. Choose any to ignore the posting date.

## `minSalary` (type: `integer`):

Skip jobs whose extracted salary is below this yearly figure. Hourly and monthly pay is converted before the comparison. Jobs with no published salary are skipped when this is set.

## `remoteOnly` (type: `boolean`):

Keep only jobs Indeed marks as remote.

## `jobType` (type: `string`):

Keep only jobs of this type.

## `sortBy` (type: `string`):

Ask Indeed for the most relevant jobs or the newest ones first.

## `includeCompanyRating` (type: `boolean`):

Adds the employer's Indeed star rating and review count to every job.

## `proxyConfiguration` (type: `object`):

Indeed blocks datacenter traffic. The Unblocker group is set by default and is what makes this Actor work.

## `checkOnly` (type: `boolean`):

Return the Actor's supported features without scraping. Useful for AI agents handshaking with this Actor.
